I would DIE for a view like that! Ingy has a nice view, too…
You’re so sweet Kelly! Glad you enjoyed it, it was rather breathtaking. Today it’s just BORING coz it’s all gone.
La la la I’m so happy because I DID intarsia for the first time!
Whoopeeeeeee. I had to rip out the first try … it was rippled because I did it too tight and didn’t stretch the stitches out on the right needle like Ingrid reminded me too… THAT’S important…
This was SO HARD AT FIRST! It was a mess, tangles and sitting there untangling after each row. The next day I did it all over and it became so much simpler, I untangle or rather just cross the yarn over each time…
it’s slow going compared to regular knitting but you get to make something REALLY SPECIAL!!!
I got so excited the way it was turning out I forgot to decrease every 7 rows after the armholes began. geez (There’s always something isn’t there?!)
But I AM NOT ripping out the gray cats… I’ll just wear it somehow!
I’m alternating between the little socklettes and the Cat Vest.
Oh, btw, I deleted all my misery blog stuff from Sunday because I didn’t want to keep seeing it! but I THANK YOU ALL so very very much for giving me help and wisdom and making me feel better. a
Below are the pix of what I’m working on today… oh there’s also a shrug I’m doing out of the beautiful Peruvian baby alpaca but that will take FOREVER…
beautiful sunny windy day today
Bye!!! :XX: :happydance:
:cheering: :cheering: Now THAT looks fabulous!!! :cheering: :cheering:
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
Boo hoo. I lost my sparkly turquoise name. I wonder if it was too big or something and had to be deleted?
But Crystal still has hers soooooo
Rotten thing is Crystal sent me the thing and I also (I’m really great with computers can’t ya tell) went and deleted all my inbox messages by mistake where I had it stored so I don’t know how to make it up again…
Anyhoo, I’m back in the city and so relieved! Those empty mountains can really wear on a girl. I felt sick half the time I was there and I think it’s because I’m not out walking a lot like I do here in the city, and it’s just great to SEE PEOPLE. We don’t see anybody up in the hills, well unless you drive into town.
My baby Toise cat was sick again, her coughing came back really bad so we took her to the vet Mon morning and he said to keep her on
the Prednasom prednazone whatever it is steroids so we’ll see.
Since we brought her home yesterday she’s been much better.
Got to get to the library to pick up Sally Melvilles other book, her latest.
Love that library!
Oh there’s a big hound dog outside on the sidewalk just wailing away.
Ha.
all for now,
I’m working on it…
(ignore the photobucket junk til then… hehe)
HALLELUJA HALE halell shoot
I DID IT! Crystal ! Um, hope it’s not too big. imagewise I mean.
I worry over these little things…
Why is it somedays you wake up feeling TERRIFIC like anything can be done today…
and then other days are just bleak black blah blug
Blug instead of blog. ? Um um um… well hopefully it will pass.
Sorting out my sock mistake this morning sort of helped.
We need a vacation that’s it and can’t afford one and haven’t had one for too long. complain whinge Ok. I stop now.
Here’s my sock I’m working on, ignoring the cat vest but will get back to it soon. Making another what I call my 7 scarves to sell this summer:
they are 7 stitches on big needles and soo quick and easy.
This one is burnt orange and incredibly soft yarn, sooooooo soft.
Knit on the subway yesterday and it felt good.
Funny story: I went to Macy’s (the world’s largest department store) two weeks ago to buy a compact. Powder. Had a run in with this aggressive saleswoman-from-hell and she actually made me turn on my heels and FLEE. Whew. She got angry because I didn’t want to buy the expensive compact/foundation she was rubbing onto my face, instead of the less expensive one. She gave me this look and growled OK!!! … made me feel like she wanted to kill me. I left wo getting what I wanted after going all the way down there. Then I thought about it and emailed Clinique about how unpleasant it was etc. Clinique wrote me a very sweet letter and put a free lipstick in the mail to me. Now that’s good service.
Ok. Time to go buy a birthday gift for my friend who turned 86. ![]()
That’s beautiful, Vic!
I would have expected a free compact ![]()
I want to make socks toooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
That is one VERY cute sock! :cheering:
I was gonna agree with Beld…lipstick it nice, but its too bad they didnt send you what you went for in the first place! :rofling:
HA! I didn’t even think of that! OMG Beldy is back or here
how wonderful
Hildy… why aren’t you making socks then! ?
Thanks guys..... although I think I really hate ssk now.
Well I posted my HAPPY EASTER and my bird story. That bird was so beautiful… I cannot believe a bird could come down the chimney with the fire roaring and still be alive. We’ve decided P. (my dh) is going to climb up on the roof and put a wire piece, very open wire, over the chimney because this is the 2nd time a bird got in the house down the chimney.
Last year or maybe the year before? we came up to our house after being away for 2 or 3 weeks. When we entered the kitchen my 2 cats were freaked and kept going around the bottom corner cupboard. We looked in but it was a very deep cupboard, didn't see anything. Several hours later, my cats trying to get in there again so I got a flashlight and there in the back was this big bird cowering. White. Big. I think um, shoot I forget the name now.... cormorant! maybe
We got it out once again using a cat cage like we did last night and set it free. Only then did we start noticing this white stuff all over our windows where it had tried to get out... for 2 weeks or more. There is a little basket of wooden blue robins eggs I keep under our kitchen table (our table has some wrought iron birds in the frame.... the blue eggs go with them) (is this sounding crazy) anyhoo
the eggs were scattered all over the kitchen, the bird had thought they were real eggs.
Almost cooked a bird in the fireplace last night wow.
Anyhoo, thought I’d post my bunny and bag here too! Why not!
What a gorgeous day this has turned out to be. Amazing.
Happy Easter & Happy Spring!
That is a cool rabbit! I’m sure she loves her bag!
Victoise, where are you? I miss you.
Ha ha… well that’s all it took: one miss you!
THANK YOU WINNIEG! You’ve made me happy today! really!
(how’s Owen Potato?)
I dunno, I decided to start knitting more, computering less but of course I think about everyone and was missing everyone too!
I’m working furiously on little projects to sell this summer and the farmer’s market already started up and I haven’t made it over there. I have scarves, little bags for cell phones/ipods, some hats. Did a nice white bag in cotton that I lined and am working today on a chocloate brown string bag like my white one only bigger. Problem is, I want to keep the stuff for me!
I almost made it to the Massachusetts Wool and Sheep festival. We set the alarm clock, woke up at 6:30 for the 3 hour drive, thought it over, and decided we (me) didn’t want to spend 6 hours in the car that Saturday. Last Saturday. So my DH said I could finally get the yarn swift I want because gas alone would have cost $60 not to mention all the yarn I would’ve bought. So now I"m looking for the best place to buy a yarn swift. Probably Glimakra. I CAN’T WAIT TO GET IT! I have about 30 skeins at least that need to be wound up.
I visited Yarnware in New Jersey 2 weeks ago. They are so nice.
Their sales are really great, either 25% off or 50% and you need to keep looking coz she changes the sale stuff a lot. I got the most incredible yarn ever: Noro Transitions in orange/rose. $25 a skein! but 25% off. Still costly but they had a sweater hanging there and it was truly amazing, the yarn changes colors in the most beautiful way.
Well, ok that’s enough for today! Miss you all and will try to catch up on some blogs. I’m supposed to go to Florida for 4 nights, haven’t got on a plane for 5 years (I’m afraid to now, me who traveled all over Europe and Mexico)… but I can’t find anyone to stay with my babies… my 2 cats.
Any knitters out there want to stay 4 nights in Manhattan? June 16.
I am addicted to my cat: Toisie
oh dear bye!
P.S.
I forgot to add we celebrated our 25th !!! wedding anniversary May 7th.
What did I get? nothing Except the 25 years! ha
No, it was nice… as long as I get that yarn swift…
Some pix of ‘little things’ I’ve been making. Cell phone cover,
digital camera cover and eyeglass case. All for me made out of thick cotton, so quick and I love the colors for summer.
Hi Victoise! Your cat is adorable and hilarious! Love that pretty white purse!
