I certainly will & thank you!! ![]()
Austin was holding some action figures in his hand yesterday which made his Dr.'s & physical therapists very happy. The Dr.'s are pleased with the way the grafted areas are looking so far. He was so sweet last night during his evening bath he told one of his nurses that he was like an uncle to him b/c he takes such good care of him.
He got a post card from Auburnchick yesterday & he loved it - told me he wanted to go to the beach. She also sent me some yarn -
Ben tried to steal the green but I won the fight :teehee: We also got a card from Clairegrandmamaria - thank you
Rabbit…So glad that Austin got his card and that he is doing good. I been so busy working that I have very little time to knit right now…My last project was the sage green square for Austin . I used Caron yarn, which I like a lot somewhat heavy, but nice to work with. Hugs to all…Love, Grandma:cheering:

Just a confirmation Rabbit, the package went in the mail today. Post office said you should have it there at the hopsital on monday. Let me know if you don’t get it by tuesday or so. :yay:
to you and Austin…can someone “please” email me an address to send Austin a B/day card? Thanks:hug:
PM’d you. ![]()
Auburn I found a map online at books a million and am going to have it sent straight to Austin. We figure that this would be easier and a little bit faster.
Awww Thanks!
I will certainly post when I get it.
Austin just had a bronchoscopy done this morning. The Dr. wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with his airway before removing the trach. They found a granuloma & removed it. They will give him some meds to hopefully help prevent another one from forming & will recheck in a few weeks. They plan to plug his trach today & see how things go - still hoping to have it out before surgery later this week. He is getting much better about the bath & bandage changes. There is one nurse who was in with him Saturday & she did almost his whole bath by herself & he was so calm during it. If she worked a regular schedule I would have already begged her to be one of his primary nurses. I decided this weekend that I needed to find an LYS to get my fix :teehee: So I pm’d a fellow raveler from Cincinnati (Happycat) who responded with not only what stores are good but an invitation to take us whenever we wanted to go! So We went yesterday to http://www.knit-on.com/. Wow!! I could get lost in there for days. Three rooms overflowing with yarn! Ben & I got some Dark Horse Fantasy - he got green (I know- shocking) & I got a very pretty purple variegated. I also sprung for some Mmmmmalabrigo in Emerald. Austin has decided he gets to pick what I make with it. She also treated us to ice cream at a place called Graeters. Yummmmm! Just another example of how knitters are the best people around!
It is good to hear how he is doing, especially with his baths. :woot: And how good it must have been to get into a yarn store! :woohoo:
Momwolf - Ben got his today! He sent you a pm - all I did was title it.
Thank you!
Mulderknitter - it arrived today! WOW!! Thank you!
Austin also got a package from the Toronto Bluejays Baseball club with some really nice goodies in there. Thank you to whoever arranged that.
He also got post cards from Frankfort Kentucky & Washington state. There wasn’t a screenname on them so I’m not sure if they’re from KHers or Ravelers but Thank you!

I sent Ben a pm back,Thanks his was really nice:hug:
Actually the first thing he asked me after he opened the box was if you were online so he could tell you thank you. We have to open mail in our room due to the MRSA precautions - nothing that goes in can leave until the infection is gone & then it has to be sterilized. So we got online & I told him you weren’t here but he could send you a pm.
And the trach is out!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
They pulled it this afternoon & he has been doing fine since. I am so happy that we won’t have that to deal with while he has to lay on his stomach.
Thanks for the update and I am sooooooooo glad the trach is out :cheering:
Nice to here that YOU got to go out and do some shopping.Take care and give my best to Austin and Ben.
I’m so glad to here Austin has his trach out! It really sounds like he is ahead of schedule with his healing. Such great news!!! Cat
Austin got to leave his room for the first time today!! He got to sit out at the nurses station for awhile. He enjoyed that - who could blame him? He is also doing great with his physical therapy - he sat up for 10 minutes this afternoon. They are still planning to graft his back this Friday - I’ll be sure to let everyone know how it went.
We got a package of goodies from LuLu2 today complete with a post card for Austin’s wall - Thank you!
Austin is making some great progress! I know that Friday’s surgery is not going to be a lot of fun. Lots of hugs to y’all!!!
Oh, that’s fabulous news about Austin!
:woohoo: He’s making wonderful progress! Congrat’s Rabbit!:woot:
