I only have yarn teenagers (not quite the same as a yarn baby) and yarn puppies (which can be a pretty good substitute!). :teehee:
I’m excited about seeing Lissalue and Lestrella tomorrow morning!
:cheering: :woohoo: :yay:
I’ll actually be able to use my Starbucks giftcard! :happydance:
(They don’t take it at Barnes and Noble) :pout:
I also have two “replacement drink” coupons that you two can use for your drinks. You can each get WHATEVER drink you want with those!
I’ll bring a knitting project to work on, and be ready to hang out with you until I have to leave to teach piano lessons. I can’t wait!
I hope you are already in bed by now and that you had set up your alarm.
If for whatever reason you are going to be late, please give me a call and let me know.
Wow the blanket looks great so far! I am with you Cristy I had a color in mind but now I think I will see once the blanket gets here to see what feels and looks right.
OK enough procrastinating for me I have a paper due in 24 minutes that I really need to finish up.
Keep up the great work everyone! This blanket is going to be a masterpiece!!
Aw…come on, Lestrella. You don’t expect me to be ASLEEP tonight, do you? :teehee:
In bed at 8:22? :thud: I usually stay up reading till 1am myself. :teehee:
Me too, Jan. Almost every night I end up staying up until 1 or 2 with a book. Right now it’s Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult.
Oh how I wish I could stay up and read…now with a newborn around again I just stay up! LOL!
Been there, done that! :teehee: My “babies” are now 27.5 and 30. :passedout:

I know. I do the same thing. Shandeh knows why I mentioned it. Last time we were supposed to meet, she overslept and didn’t hear her alarm.
Anyway, we met today and we had a great time, as usual. I got the oddball blanket from lissalue. I can’t wait to start working on it. I want to finish my entrelac hat tonight so I can start working on the blanket tomorrow. I’m still trying to decide on which color to use.
Good luck w/ it–I can’t wait to see what you do!
You guys are moving right along with the blanket. :cheering:
It looks GREAT!!
I was out last night looking at possible colors to use for the blanket, I was surprised to see that WalMart had a good selection of Simply Soft. I couldn’t make up my mind, so I will wait until the blanket gets to me and pick a color then.
I was very pleased with the way the blanket looks with Lissalue’s portion added on. She did a great job!
Now, the blanket is in the hands of our lovely lestrella. Good luck with your three inches, my friend!
Hi,
I’m sorry I haven’t given you an update since I got the blanket but my ds was sick and I didn’t have that much time to spend in the forum. Anyway, I wanted to post a picture of the goodies I got from lissalue along with the blanket. How sweet is that!!! I love it!!! lissalue, thank you soooooooooooooo much!!
I’m basically done with the blanket. I didn’t like any of the colors in my stash so I asked my ds for suggestions. He’s usually pretty good at coordinating colors (he’s my little picasso). He chose a sage green. I think is Simply soft. It didn’t have a label.
I had to frog a few times just because I’m stubbon. I could’ve continue with the garter stitch, but I just like complicating my life and decided to do cables instead. My first cables. First, I wasn’t doing the math correctly  . Then, I was getting a gap when crossing the cables :wall: :wall: . It was frustrating so I decided to go with stockinette and garter stitch. As I was knitting, a little voice kept telling me to keep trying the cables and that’s exacly what I did. :cheering: :cheering: I did it!!! Hooray!!! :happydance: They don’t look bad at all…for real. I’ll post pictures tomorrow.
Shandeh, I’m ready to mail it on Monday. I just need the address and the name of the next person to send it to.
By the way, and if it’s ok with everyone, I was wondering if we could have access to the master list with everyone addresses? You never know when someone wants to surprise you with a little care package. And NO, I’M NOT A PSYCO KILLER. In fact, I’m a very sweet young lady :teehee:
:woohoo: My dh is back. He was out of town for 10 days and I missed him soooo much. I’ll be able to have some time for myself now.
Gotta go now. I have to catch up with the rest of the blogs.
Lestrella, Can’t wait to see the pictures!!! Our blanket has cables! :cheering:
Those are beautiful gifts! Can’t wait to see your addition!
BTW…the master list is going to remain private. Not everyone wants there address made public.
:cheering:
I can’t wait to see pics and I can’t wait til it’s my turn! Yayyy!!
By the way, this is the first time I’ve ever knit for charity. I do a lot of various volunteer work and have wanted to knit for charity for some time. For lots of reasons–namely more knitting! I can make different things and know they’ll be appreciated. (My fam and friends don’t really care for knitted gifts and I’m too hot-blooded to wear most of my own).
Anyhoo, for some reason I just haven’t been able to strike out on my own as a charity knitter. It’s felt too daunting, too many options, etc etc etc. So this is just a fabulous introduction to charity knitting for me. Thank you!!! Plus–I get to do a project with a bunch of other KH’ers. Wooo!!
HamaLee, thank you SO much for your sweet message!
It warms my heart to hear your thoughts about charity knitting.
For me, it is so satisfying to knit for those that REALLY appreciate the effort.
And I agree with Jan. The master list will have to stay under wraps.
(If any of you would like to receive mail from Lestrella, just PM your mailing address to her.)
Lestrella, I will contact the next person in the list and let you know for sure if they are ready for the blanket. You sure did your rows quickly!!
:thud:
Ok, here are the photos…I’m not the best photographer though. Remember that I’m still a newbie…I did try my best! I hope you guys like it.
Jan and Shandeh, in terms of the master list, I totally understand. I still love you
Lestrella, that is gorgeous!! :passedout: I’m going to have a lot to live up to! :teehee:
