Never leave home without my knitting

Apparently I act like a ā€œterrible teenager,ā€ according to my dad. I’ll actually be a teen in, like, 12 days. :noway: Just saying…

I actually end up getting stuff taken away a lot…:aww: Not as much the TV, as I don’t watch a lot in the first place, but cell phone and computer time BIG TIME.

Hope your stress level decreases. In the mean time, have fun knitting! :knitting:

You have to lay down the law, but do remember that it’s very normal. It’s kind of like when they go through the terrible twos… it’s just a stage between two very different ages for her. Not fun though. Been there done that. :zombie:

Brenda, just when you think your sweet daughter is never going to come back, she will. Shortly after my oldest started college (wow, could it really be 8 years ago?!?), she came home one weekend and told me that it was nice that we could be ā€œfriendsā€ now that she was grown. (I smiled to myself thinking that I was the best friend she ever had, she just didn’t know it.) Even my younger daughter (the rebel) is coming around. Now, we can all have fun together.

I live about an hour from Brenham, you also have to go on a weekday, I don’t think the Blue Bell gives tours and ice cream on weekends, they wouldn’t have any left to sell! :teehee: I’ve never had the chance to go either, I’m going to put in on my calendar next time DH has a weekday off! Great pics, BTW, LOVE the blue bonnets! Added you to contacts on Flickr, are we ā€˜friends’ on Ravelry? I’m arielluria there too.

BTW, I’m loving the rain!!!:woohoo:

Things with DD are better today, maybe the rain storm had something to do with it  Thanks for all of the words of encouragment.

I found out today that I am not in the running for any of the jobs that I sent resumes to. That really bites! But I guess that now I have my answer, God wants me to keep home schooling my girls. I still want to quit my job but just can’t bring myself to make that leap of faith. The income is there the 15th and 30th of every month. DH is still getting his business up and running so his income if more flexible. He has suggested that I start my own business using my crafty talent but I’m not so sure about that. It would be nice to just concentrate on one thing and do that well instead of spreading myself so thin all of the time. Maybe I just need a good long vacation :roflhard:

Off to get things ready for the morning.

I’m glad it’s better right now. There will be good days and bad with your daughter. That’s just the nature of the teen years, especially the early ones. Just remind yourself that ā€˜this too shall pass’.

Both parents have issues to deal with during this time, but I think mothers have an especially hard time. We not only mother, we feel a special bond and when it seems like it’s falling apart it hurts. I am really close to my daughters now. My oldest told me at Christmas that I am one of her best friends now and she calls me all the time. You’re a good mom so I know you’ll do fine.

As for the job…hang in there. Times will get better and hopefully you’ll be able to stay at home soon.

Hi Cindy, it’s a Shih Tzu. I work with ST and other dog rescues and have 2 rescued now. Waiting on foster #3. I’d love to see pics of yours, is it a Shih Tzu also? Also add me to your Rav. friends’ list if you’re there. I’m arielluria there too.
:muah:

I am so glad that our last confirmation class of the school year is finished. It will be one less thing to have to deal with while we are trying to figure out all of these things that weigh heavy on my heart and mind.

I think that for the rest of the night I’ll sit here by the computer and watch the Twins baseball game via the internet and knit.

Jan, I love the new avatar!

Oh thanks! I took that a few years ago. I figured since it was spring and all I’d use a poppy.

Isn’t the poppy the state flower of California?

Well, I’ve talked with my boss about being so frustrated with everything that is on my plate. She suggested some professional counseling for me :eyes: She also told me that she would hate for me to quite but that my family comes first and I should do what is best for them. Having a wife and mother who is always stessed out is no good. So I’m going to go through the budget and DH and I want to take a long, hard look at it. Keep your fingers crossed that I’ll be able to quite and stay home with my beautiful DD’s.

Why yes, it IS the CA state flower! When we have a good winter we get masses of them on some of the hillsides along with Lupine which is either the same or a cousin of the Bluebonnet.

I’m really sorry you’re under so much stress! I really hope you can stay home! Keeping fingers crossed for you!Crossed Fingers

Oh Jan, that is a BEAUTIFUL picture. Thanks for sharing it  Also, thanks for the kind words that you always have. I really appreciate it :muah:

I just realized the one of the LYS is have a class this summer on the sweater that you are working on. I think that I might take the class just because I need to have some ā€œmeā€ time. Not to mention I could have this pretty sweater to show for it in the end :teehee: Right now I’m working on an adult size of the EZ baby jacket. I hope that it turns out and fits me. If not it should fit one of my DD’s. Some days that’s the only thing that keeps me sane and helps the stress :roflhard:

You’re welcome!

Which sweater are you referring to?

The sweater class is the lacey version of the EZ baby jacket. The one that you are stalled on. I thought that I would take the class this summer. Maybe I’ll meet some more knitters from around here and learn a thing or two.

Today we bought DD1 her b-day present early. She wanted an electric guitar and we found an awesome deal. The guitar was originally priced at $429.00 and we got it for $89.00 which included a bag. WOW!!! Her birthday is June 13th but we just couldn’t pass up the deal. Now we are going to hit the pawn shops for a cheap amp because DH’s old amp doesn’t work.

Tonight I plan on knitting my little heart out and watching ā€œUgly Bettyā€ and ā€œGrey’s Anatomyā€ :knitting:

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!! I hope that all of you mom’s have a great mother’s day. I’m going to spend mine knitting on a charity baby blanket. :cheering:

Happy Mother’s Day to you too.

DH’s best friend and his family are in Houston before they move to Naples, Italy. I would love    to go visit them while they are living there. They have a 36 month assingment with NCIS so they will be there for a while. It would be the trip of a lifetime!

Off to do homeschool, fold laundry, flip through three channels on the TV. The Biggest Loser Finale, Dancing with the Stars and the Rockets game. Oh and of course KNITTING!! I have to fit that in there too.:teehee:
