Knitting Help T-shirts?

:rofling: Kelly, you are soooo funny!

I love the needle idea. Gives a whole new slant to the word Help in KnittingHelp, doesn’t it? Funny! I like the watermark image of a pile of knitting needles. The concept works for me!

Beldie, your concept is visual, funny, and very clever! My only question is, how do we pull it off without making our valued older knitter members feel like they’re being compared to monkeys? …:?? Is it possible? Take a good shower on that one, because I’d love it if we could use it!

They do sell messenger bags, which are probably the closest thing I could get to a knitting bag, through this place. Here’s the list of products they make (look here on the left hand column, under “shop by product”)

I’m liking the frog image Kelly! I could see using just the picture of the frog, with the no symbol over it, with no explanation, just knittinghelp.com on the back. That would definitely be a cute inside joke for us knitters, and a conversation starter as well! Also, there are lots of tagline options that come to mind, like “KnittingHelp.com, less frogging, more (fill in the blank: knitting, fun, community…”

OMG, you all are so full of great ideas! I think I’m forgetting to mention and say thanks for a couple. So many to keep track of! Thanks everyone, this is SOOOOO exciting for me!

Amy

I don’t know the cost of getting things started… but you can always order more than one design… you don’t have to pick one. That way you can reach a bigger demographic

My artist and I are on it!! We’re also trying to include multiculturalism and men. Needs more showers but when we’re finished everyone will love it!!!

… but I had a couple of ideas:

“Got knots?” (front)

Knittinghelp.com” (back)

Not nearly as original as some of the others, but simple for those who like that.

Or, and this is a little bit of a stretch:

“I kissed a lot of frogs …”

“… until I found knittinghelp.com”

And, finally,“Do knot be afraid … knittinghelp.com” (coupled, perhaps, with a menacing image of a frog?) (Did someone say this already???)

Oh, my goodness! I was thinking of wagons going Westward! The call the leader gave! “Westward, Ho!!!” Like, let’s get moving!!!

I’m really behind the times, huh! Of course, I have heard the term used as feministmama intimates, but it just didn’t hit me when I read the idea! LOL
Yeah, the “Yarn Ho” logo from Knitty is not my taste either. Where I’m from, “Ho” is a shocking word; at least it’s not one I’d be comfortable using to refer to myself!
Like Land ho? Ship Ahoy? What about yarn ahoy? j/k

(we needy a cheesy emoticon too)

Yellowness-I love your priceless slogan!
Dotmom61-“I kissed a lot of frogs …” “… until I found knittinghelp.com” I love it! I also love Flappy’s “needle habit”. So much creativity. I definitely have a needle habit!

I like the ‘no frog’ symbol too! Maybe without any words on the front, just the symbol (slash circle frog) and then have the slogan on the back: “Less frogging, more fun @ knittinghelp.com:frog:

Another idea - not complete, just random - have a picture where the url look like it’s on a scarf?

I think it’s funny how some don’t want to be a ho, but have no problem being ‘addicts’! I guess technically I’m more like an addict here too I have fiber on the brain. Hmmm, ‘Fiber on the brain?’
‘Fiber Filled’ (cute t-shirt)
‘Daily Fiber’

An image comes to mind (yes, I’m getting more random), maybe with Julie’s (DotMom61) slogan “Got Knots?”: a snarl of yarn and bent needles on the front –> then on the back “knittinghelp.com”: a lovely knit scarf or sock and perfect needles.

Carol

The “got yarn?” or “got ?whatever?” is a spinoff from a milk commercial. It’s here in Canada, but not sure if it’s in the States. Their slogan is “got milk?”. I posted it as a joke a while back, but since I’ve seen it come up a few times, I thought I should state that this isn’t an original idea.

On a side note, there should be some pictures coming up soon…

Here is Beldie’s idea of using the “development of man” theme, with my drawing and a goofy caption. Granny, June Cleaver, “Easy Rider”, Asian girl, and bubblegum teen are just some of the options.

So sorry, Amy. That last picture messed things up a bit.* This one is smaller. I’m new with the computer manipulation thing. It took me all weekend just to figure out how to get things scanned into usable files. Still haven’t figured out the digital camera. Anyway, here is Beldie’s slogan of “Knitter’s United” with my frog artwork. The idea, if the picture isn’t clear, is a line of frogs of different colors knitting on lily pads for the front of the tee.

[*No problem Sara, I shrank it. ~Amy]

My final offering is “The 5 Stages of Knitting Grief”. It would be a list-
#1. DENIAL: “I dropped a stitch?! NOOOOO!!!” #2. ANGER: “%$^*#@!!”
#3. BARGAINING: “Well, maybe it won’t really matter. I can put a big brooch over that hole…” #4. DEPRESSION: “sob…sniff” #5. ACCEPTANCE: “Okay, I guess I have to frog it.” And the back would say “Group therapy for knitters - Knittinghelp.com” with a happy frog logo.

:inlove:  SARA…I LOVE IT!!! :inlove:

Sara!

That is a great idea too!! I love it!! Great pics as well. I would hate to be Amy right now to have to choose between all of these great ideas. I would make shirts for each one…lol.

OMG, especially for the well-endowed!

Stay regular at KH :?:

Cute, DotMom!

Beldie & Sara, thanks for all your work and your creativity! Those are fun!! Cool!! :cheering:

Carol, I was thinking the same thing! I definitely wouldn’t want a picture of a syringe on the Needle-Addict t-shirt, or anything that drug-graphic! That’s why I like Hildie’s idea of including the watermark of the knittingneedles, because even though the slogan sounds drug-like, there’s the picture of the knitting needles, right there staring you in the face, as if to say “You thought we were talking about drugs, did you? Gasp! What kind of twisted mind do you have?” :rofling:

Indeed, it is definitely getting harder and harder!!!
But I’m not complaining! What AWESOME ideas you all have!!
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

Thanks everyone!
Okay, give me a little while to pull this together. I need to think about it, and see what I can pull off graphically, to look professional. I’m wicked busy this week and next, but hopefully I’ll get these together before too long…

You all are the best!!!
 Big Smooches to you all!
Amy

Just one word on the t’s with a lot of wording… and I do realize this could be just a weird quirk of mine (well some of my friends too) I tend to shy away from them because they usually only seem to attract creepy guys using it as an excuse to stare at my chest. Obviously you can’t please everyone but I just thought I’d toss that one out. :happydance:

Maybe I imagined this, but I thought we were putting this on a bag?! Or, I thought that we could just purchase the picture as an iron-on patch and put it on whatever we want (and where ever we want too).

With cafepress.com, they sell products, all kinds, that you can put your own image on. T’s, bags, license plate frames, mugs, etc etc etc.

yeah I think doing an iron-on patch is a good idea too! yay beldie! but I like t-shirt, mug, mouse pad, sweatshirt, long-sleeve t-shirt, thong (?), tanktop, spiral notebook, pencils, hats, ties, socks…

 ooo sock idea… “make cool socks like these… go to knittinghelp.com
(yes i know that won’t fit on socks, and that people don’t “read” socks, but i thought it was cute… maybe the same thing for a knitted hat??)

Anyway, here is an interesing site about cafepress and their business record… it IS 2 years old, so who knows what changes have been made now (just an FYI to make sure we read the entire TOS of any company with whom we do business).
