I messed up on increases or something, I’d have to think more than my head agrees to do right now to be sure. I just went ahead and frogged. I want to use a size smaller needles this time. It’s a new project again.
Many thanks guys for all your congratulations for my first toe up sock I am up to the gusset on the second one, lets just hope I manage the heel better this time:think:
Had a quiet day today, hubby home because it’s Easter break.
Do you have national holidays for easter over there in the US and Canada? We get friday, and monday.:happydance: and the weather is lovely, a real feel of spring, lots of bluebells in bloom in the country side here.
Sounds so pretty I don’t know that many people get holidays around Easter, some people get Good Friday off. When I lived in New Mexico a lot of businesses would close at noon on Good Friday.
will be absolutely fine!
DH picked the strawberries and lime fresh, also mint sprigs from the garden. Yeah, it’s rough :roflhard:
Cheers :clink:
You can expect your sympathy card via snail mail just as soon as postage rates go down.
In 1978 Good Friday was on March 24. I remember it well. My daughter entered the world that morning.
I was able to exchange the cable at a new to me LYS, a half hour south of us. The lady was so nice, I wasn’t able to leave the store without making a purchase I bought a pattern, Josie Vest, and the yarn is Juniper Moon Farm Zooey, a cotton/linen blend.
So I was poking around today, is this really the guy we’re making sacrifices to? Methinks something is wrong with this picture.
Wow! What a great day, must make you feel sentimental, very sweet.
It makes me feel hungry! :roflhard: And sleepy. And tired…
Good Friday and Easter haven’t been that early since.
I must be. I’m cleaning and organizing (at least I think I am) my apartment. The sun is shining, it’s a good day for spring cleaning.
My latest sox are nearing completion. They’re gray with red toes and heels. Universal Pace yarn. It’s been discontinued, I don’t know how long I’ve had it.
Hey GG have you caught spring fever? :?? It is a dangerous condition… can cause all sorts of worrying symptoms  It makes people see dust :ick: and cobwebs!
BUT don’t worry there is a cure  Quick pick up your knitting, keep knitting, keep knitting for a long time and those nasty symptoms will go away
Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I was afraid it might be more serious than it really is. There is still hope. I have been knitting too. I’ve added at least an inch to my sox tops today. Soon I’ll switch back to red and do the rib at the top. I’ll hopefully be able to post a FOto soon.
Why am I cleaning? A friend is moving and she is giving me a bed. I have to get ready to bring it in. I had all kinds of crap under my bed and it has to go elsewhere so I’ve been organizing my bedroom closet…cupboard? wardrobe?..to get things put away in a more orderly fashion. I also sort of figured that as I’ve been in this apartment more than 5 years it might be time to really settle in. I hope I’m not being too hasty. :roflhard: I really am trying to eliminate a lot of crap I’ve collected over the years. Wish me luck please, I really need it.
I think I’ve been bitten by the sewing bug. The fleece I bought last Xmas is calling to me and I might make myself some fall/winter things from the it. I need new shopping bags too. The old ones are getting pretty fugly. I have saved fabrics that can make the new ones. I might get ahead of the game and make Granddaughter’s Xmas PJs this spring. She’s done growing, I’m sure unless she get a little taller. Grandson’s will wait for fall. He’s growing like a weed.
I found an oval shaped plastic bucket with a hinged, latching lid and handle by the dumpster. I brought it in, cleaned it up, and it will be a terrific project box. You can see my expensive yarn management system in the pic. OK, OK, it’s a plastic bag from the grocery store.
ok, it sounds like you’ve only got a mild dose of fever,so I guess you don’t need to worry.
To be honest I could do with catching it for a while too. In the past we moved house every couple of years or so (hubby was in the military) so we didn’t gather too much “might be useful one day” junk.
But now he’s left the Air Force and we have been in the same house for over ten years I really do need a sort out.
I also have number 2 sons roomful of stuff that he couldn’t take with him when he moved to the US to get married. Some of it is stuff he’ll not need again but I feel mean getting rid of it all, just in case there are bits he wants to keep.
I like your project bin by the way, it’s a handy size.
I guess you could tell number 2 son that he needs to let you know what he wants kept and the rest is on its way out. :??
I’ve joked that I must be part Gypsy, I hate staying in one place more than a few years. Moving isn’t an option now, I think I’m coping by making this a different place. I no longer have my kids’ left behinds…no wait, I do have a box of stuff that belongs to my DS. I’ve moved too much crap too many times, it’s time to pare it down. I’ve listened but managed to not succumb to the siren song of a rented storage unit. I must stand firm there. I know what’s going on, this is a delayed case of March Madness. Cleaning and sorting in April would be just about on schedule for me who never procrastinates simply because I never get around to it. :roflhard:
I’ve collected the sox I need to finish and the sox I need to rework and the sox yarn for DD’s next pair in the bin. I think it’s The Sox Box. Maybe I’ll label it. :teehee:
I like your Sox box!
Janis, I love picking up things like that. It would have ended up at the landfill or at best recycled if I hadn’t scrounged it. If I find them in the store and they are affordable I know I want more too.
Anything new and exciting on the knitting front for you?
New and exciting, let me see… I’ve been praying to the god of frog here a lot recently. I frogged most of Taz’s blanket again. Reknit it and more homage to the gods.
Oh, I know what I haven’t shared!!! I have my very own “Yarn Angel”! I got a great gift, yarn for this shawl. I also got 2 skeins of sock yarn, and a new colorway of the Caron Simply Soft Paints, called Rose garden. I choose to use RHWL Mallard for the shawl. I really like the RHWL. I was a happy dancing camper when the yarn came!! It also gave me an excuse to buy new needles, lol. I had to buy the Size 19’s I need to knit this.
Mallard is a beautiful color. I bet it’s even better IRL. Your shawl will be lovely! Are you joining the KAL? I have sox to finish that are made of yarn from my Yarn Angel. They’d be done but I wasn’t pleased with the tops and paid homage to The Frog. I have to get the red and gray ones done so I can use the needles for them. They’re in The Sox Box already.
I had planned to join in the KAL, but real life got in the way. I’ll cast on for it in May, I hope. I get to knit sox with the yarn from my Angel too! I got 2 skeins of Indigo also!!
I’m anxious to start using my new yarns, and I did begin a swatch with the sock yarn. I need to concentrate on things other than my knitting right now, although the knitting does make a nice break.
Wow ladies!
Knitting, spring cleaning, yarn angels, sox box!
It seems I’ve missed a lot in my spring induced madness, including missing that I didn’t work a neckline, thereby feeding the frog. (Can’t type either )
And mojitos, Charlotte, you forgot the mojitos :clink:
