Any Sock KAL 2

Think I did ok on the final, out of 85 there were 13 microscope, 4 human brain, 4 sheep brain, 2 spinal nerves, 4 spinal cord, and 4 on each the leg muscle & 4 arm muscles models. I guessed a couple microscope questions, think I got the others right, & guessed on about 5 of the worded questions. Special thanks to Gina for coaching me & helping tutor me on how to study. I really felt much better going into this exam.
And of course thanks to everyone else for the prayers, I could feel them
The review last night for lecture was an eye opener, the last thing he went over I didn’t remember because I wasn’t in class when he went over it on Tues. and Brian was working late. But I have it in the notes and so I’ll be able to figure it out (I hope).
Jacob’s off from school today, but Bailey has it so I hope to get some of my study sheet done today, maybe put Jacob on the pc playing PBS games and then put Katie down for a nap while Bailey’s at school. I can’t wait to be done with finals because my house is a disaster & I can’t think when it’s such a mess.

Christine, be careful on the ice! Even the best boots sometimes don’t grip like they should!

Julie, YAY on the exam. We’ll pray that your grade is SKY HIGH and that you pass with ease! Keep working on it. The house can wait!

Speaking of houses, we discovered a screw that had been put through the pan in the shower causing the leak and subsequent mold. There was also another pan crammed in the corner under the shower along with an empty beer bottle. SOmeone was obviously supposed to replace the pan and didn’t. So we’re going after the builder for faulty workmanship…sent pictures, etc. (you can see my facebookfor pics.) Unfortunately, that means my bathroom is still unusable! The kids are coming home tomorrow for Christmas break and we have one bathroom for four adults and you have to go through one of their bedrooms to get to the bathroom. Ugh. Let’s pray that the builder steps up and does the right thing, fixing the problem and making it good in short order!

Something’s up with our ANY SOCK KAL logo. In its place is a notice saying that the account is inactive or something. Carla, didn’t you make our lovely logo? Is there something we can do to resurrect it?

 Thanks Gina, you know I’m praying! I wasn’t so worried about the lab final as I am this lecture one that’s on Tues. night.
That darn house you moved into is just a mess, one thing after another. I’ll pray that the builder does the right thing, good grief. What a pain. Well I guess if it’s any consolation, we only had 1 bathroom growing up for a long time, like 10 years & there were 5 of us. If you know anything about the Duggar family, in the home they rented before the one they now live in that they built by themselves with cash (they’re 100% debt free) I think there were 16 of them at the time, Mom and Dad and 14 kids (granted I’m sure a couple of them were in diapers, but they only had 2 bathrooms…it could be worse. At least you have a working bathroom & it’s indoor plumbing. If worst comes to worst, you can always get a camping porta poty to put in a room for emergencies…or get to know your neighbors really well. Wish you’d moved in on our street, we’d let you use our bathrooms no questions asked  This too shall pass.

My wife calls our decor “Early American Gypsy.”

I hope that evryone has been busy knitting and that is the reason that this thread has been so quiet. Since I have no life I live vicariously through your posts.

Come on Christine - your PC is running faster I expect at least one post a day! How is the cross-stitch going?

Chris, I haven’t touched it yet because I had a real bad setback with my knee and they put me to bed. I have the cross stitch bag sitting beside the bed but have no mojo to start the project. I will be having some x-rays in the next few days and then we will know what is going on with my knee but for now it is swollen up to twice it’s normal size and hurts like hell (oops, H E Double Hockey Sticks).

I’ll try to post again tomorrow. Apparently I will be meeting my grandson today for the first time. He is over two years of age and they have finally decided that the child should know his grandmother. That is what I will be doing this afternoon. He is more comfy in his own home so I will be visiting him there. I will be taking a thousand pictures, I am sure. I’ll post at least one of them later today. Then you will be happy Chris, because I will have posted twice in one day!

What do you mean ask DSWMBO&A that I am never satisfied with only twice. :roflhard: :roflhard:

Hmmm …well twice it will have to be, because I am bushed and am going to bed now. I DID see the baby and he is just adorable. I have many pictures (in which I look terrible but at least they are pictures of me with my grandson, so I don’t care how terrible I look). I will try to post the pictures tomorrow, if I don’t go to the hospital to get the x-rays done. If I go for x-rays then I will post the pictures Monday. I was not letting the x-rays or anything else interrupt my first every meeting with my youngest grandson, so I put the x-rays off. I don’t know if they are open tomorrow. We shall see what happens when I get there or call to see if they are open.

Twice is never enough Chris? Lucky DSWMBO&A… hmmm… I must be feeling a bit better because I’ve had no interest in that sort of thing since August 15th. Life goes on!

One more week and I get to start moving into my apartment!
My dad is going to build me a loft bed. I found a style I like that he should be able to easily build, with a couple of modifications. It will have a couple of open shelves across the short ends, which mom is annoyed at, she thinks I need less shelves and more drawers…
I also found a used furniture store with good prices on various furniture. Some of the stuff I liked would absolutely have to be reapolstered, but I’m good with fabric!
Tonight is Christmas with Great Grandma night, she spends Christmas eve with her daughters and their kids. She’s 93, really sweet, and tiny.

In other news, on Thursday, the wife of one of my cousins was killed in a bad car accident. Fortunately nobody else was involved. There were people around to get her out of the vehicle, start CPR, and call the ambulance immediately… but nothing could be done. Prayers are appreciated, Thanks.

Jess, prayers are most certainly sent. How sad! Prayers for the family as well because they will need them.

P.S. Loft bed sounds fantastic. How lucky are you to have a Daddy that can build one.

Christine great news about the sighting of a grandson, it’s about dang time! Sorry to hear about the knee. Glad to see your sense of humor comming back though.

Jess sorry to hear about the death, that’s especially aweful to experience with Christmas right around the corner, prayers to everyone who was touched by her life & for her soul.

Chris, I understand, this is my world too…but with my dang final being on Tues. night I’vebeen trying to be a good girl and stay off the pc, (except for some fb) and study.

I went to Grandma’s for a while today and fixed her pc, some wierd stuff was popping up on it and then she needed a renewal of her Nortin & a new mouse since her old one was almost worn out, clicker wouldnt work and she gets ticked off if it doesn’t work. Then we went to the grocery store to get some veggies to make some gazpacho & she said lets take your car and I’ll fill up your gas tank, :woot: I was almost empty and was so excited she wanted to fill me up. Not bad to fill up a minivan and it be $36.

Hope the rest of you are doing well & staying warm, not a day goes by I wonder how y’all are and what you’re up to. keep in touch.

Jess your family is in my prayers.

We have been soo busy here last week I was hardly home…so today I have to run down to the post office and then come home to find it again. Hoping this week is smoother as I really need to finish my sample knitting so I can start on my Christmas knitting :oo:

Please continue to pray for Jackson’s mom she is home but still having trouble. Her liver just doesn’t want to work…

I helped out at the school last week with the Christmas shop and that was a lot of fun…our previous school didn’t do that. Then I was running back to our old town to work on Jackie’s stockings and bringing them home with me…you can’t see my family room right now 'cause of all the boxes and trash bags of stockings. Gonna call the SA today and see when I can bring them that way…

I Hope you guys have a great day of knitting :blooby:

OK I promised you all a picture but no one said in the picture I would look good. Here is my beautiful grandson and my battered looking self…

What you mean? You are now, always have been and always will be beautiful. If you don’t believe me as Frank!

Methinks you need your glasses checked my love.

Had it done last week and the Dr. said they were in great shape. :tap: :tap: :tap: :tap:

Hey all!

I have been busy working again, I think the manager was being optimistic when she told me that it would be getting quieter near Christmas. I was hoping to have next weekend off but now I have to work Sunday - I really hate working Sundays because I have to start so late and its always busy and by the time I’m finished I just don’t have the energy to do anything else. I had a particularly bad day at work yesterday but we won’t go into that. I’ve also been having laptop issues but Dad fixed it (Crossed Fingers ).

On a brighter note its nearly my birthday so that is something to look forward to. I haven’t done much knitting lately, I finished the hat I was knitting for my cousin and took pics but haven’t uploaded them yet.

Hi Socksters,
Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve been SO discouraged about this stupid house. It just seems to be one thing after another. :wall: The builder guy came and took pictures in the bathroom today. He tried to tell DH that the leak could have come from the cracks in the grout. Yeah. Had NOTHING to do with the screw through the pan. He said he would show the pics to his supervisor and let us know. He’d better be letting us know when they will have this fixed by and it better be soon! The mold is making me sick.

Having one bathroom is doable. We did it with six of us growing up, but it’s a hassle b/c we have to go thru the kid’s bedroom to get to the bathroom. Not nice in the wee hours. (pun intended!)

Chris, we called the decor “early marriage.”

Christine, how did the x-ray go for your knee? My dad just had a cortisone shot in his and it’s really helping. LOVE the pic of you with your GS. You look great! I love your hair short and natural!

Emily, YAY on moving to your new place! So nice to have a handy dad, too! Prayers are sent!

Julie, how’s studying going? You’ll be in my prayers tomorrow night! YAY on the gas!

Dustina, hope you have time to catch your breath! You’re one busy woman!

Rache, Good to hear from you. YAY for your birthday! What day is it? Are you expecting yarn? Hope work gets better for you! At least it’s a job, right?

DD and I went to check out a wedding location today. It’s the chapel at DS’s school. It’s beautiful and we put down a deposit! I THINK the wedding will be June 12.
