Any Sock KAL 2

Hey Socksters,

:hug:Ann ~ you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted on how you are doing!

Chris ~ Happy Birthday!! :present: And that was bad really really bad.:teehee:

Lisa ~ Good for you for doing a race. I enjoy walking and have tried jogging but just never loved it enough to build myself up to more than 3 miles.

Dustina ~ Did you ever consider building a house? I love my house but there are still things that I would change.

Gina ~ I’ll have to check out amazed.

Julie ~ DH is taking online classes for his Masters and I am amazed at the amount of time he has to put into it.

Hi to everyone else…hope you all have a great April Fools Day! :waving:

Sock on,

PS Still doing the dishcloths but I’m working on one that is :wall::gah::hair::frog: . Yeah, the silly Prime Rib Dishcloths! I’m halfway finished but each row is :frog::frog::frog:!

Hi Y’all!
Happy belated bday Chris! :balloons:

Dustina I have to get all that stuff together for Jacob to register for kindergarten too.

Hey you kitty people, do you cats open doors? I’m not kidding; I thought Bailey was trying to get into my room last night, but it wasn’t her; it was Lucky & he opened the door & climbed up on the bed to sleep with us. Grandma says my cat is possessed. (Not an April fools joke either, promise)

cute sock Jackie!

forgot to say that you can see pictures of Jacob’s sleepover @ Jaxon’s house if you will look hereclick on the second smilebox playback thing that says sleepover. THen if you scroll down a bit more you’ll see a pic of them ready for bed.

OK Chris, girl scouts it is! I happen to know a few…

Hey everyone! Today is my long and busy day… work, then dinner at church, then Lenten Vespers, then my mommy group, then handbell rehearsal… and I was supposed to bring a gift to my mommy group, something relaxing, for an exchange. The idea was to bring something from home, to make this a decluttering exercise, but of course I forgot… so I’ll have to run by the drug store and get some bubble bath or something this afternoon. I wish I had thought ahead and used some stash yarn to make a couple of wash cloths!

We have one cat that seems to hate closed door. It is nothing to find all the bi-fold closet doors open, bathroom cabinet doors open and at night the bedroom door will bang as one of the two puts the paw under the door and tries to open it.

Chris I just read your signature, “A friend will help you move.
A good friend will help you move in the middle of the night.
A best friend will help you move a body.” that made me lol!
Your cats sound like a riot.

Mine had to turn the darn knob to get the door open, I really thought it was a kid, but they were out like a light.

Ok, I’m totally brain-dead, but I just wanted to check in with you all anyway. The job was great. I really want it now. They’ll tell me soon if I have the job. I’ve got a terrible head-ache now from all the new things I’ve seen today. Think I’ll be in bed early. Tomorrow I have to hand in my masterpaper (again). Hope it’s okay now…

go rest easy Lieke, it will all be better later

Hi socksters!
Be sure to check out the homepage today! Apparently, we’re helping with groundhogs!

Dustina, what sweater are you going to start with for your dad? Hope he’s not too big! Men’s sweaters can seem to go on forever! I think I’d like you to come to help with spring cleaning! Does JD know that any dentist can do sedation dentistry? They just have to write you a prescription for the sedation drug, you take it before you get there and be SURE someone else drives! My dentist HAS to use mild sedation with me b/c the regular anesthetic doesn’t work on me. It’s no wonder I have a fear of dentists! I"ve had SUCH pain in their offices in years past.

Chris, keep walking, but make sure it’s a circuitous route, or DSWMBO&A will miss you (eventually). and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!:present: BTW, VIRTUAL girl scouts don’t do windows. Well, maybe microsoft windows, but who wants to look at them?

Lisa, what are you knitting on right now? Heat and humidity affect engines, huh? WHo knew? DOes it make them slower then? I’ll be crawling come August!

Sue, hope the headaches subside soon! I feel for ya!

Julie, good luck studying. What kind of learner are you (Auditory, Tactile, Visual, Kinesthetic)?

Christine, that’s some NICE makeup! I could never order by mail. My skin is so pale that many companies don’t make light enough shades! I end up looking painted!

Jess, your recipe sounds yummy! I make pesto when my basil is at its best and freeze it. I’m always looking for new ways to use it.

Carla, sorry you’re having to frog! Hope it goes better today!

Lieke, YAY that the job went well! I’ll pray that you get it!!!

Ann, I’ve been thinking about you today. HOpe your day was good.

My wrist has been bugging me today, so I won’t be able to do much knitting. I have a student coming in a few minutes who has learning problems and has a research paper due. I’ll end up typing as he dictates, so that’s my wrist movement for the evening.

QOTD: Did anyone do anything for April Fools or did anyone do something to you? The kid I have coming for tutoring is one who drives me CRAZY for not bringing his stuff. I think I’ll pretend to send him home. I threatened yesterday that if he didn’t have EVERYTHING I would! (Of course, if he DOESN’T bring everything, I will REALLY send him home, but if he DOES, I could ask for something really obscure and THEN send him out the door!:roflhard:

Gina you’re gonna get 'em! You go girl! I was gonna tell y’all that I quit knitting and put up an ad to sell all my stuff; but then thought that might be a bit much.
As far as what kind of learner I am; I have no clue. I like to sit quiet and read my book, then have a lecture & then get to lab and play with what we just learned. So does that answer your question? I think I have great study habits from being homeschooled but I suck at taking notes. o well.

QOTD2 since this is a sock kal I thought I’d ask y’all (esp Dustina who’s knit a TON of socks)…whenever I wear my wool socks my feet sweat - if they’re in shoes, if not then no problem, but I dont wear my knit socks just around the house. Wonder if I’d have this issue with tofootsies or some cotton socks? My feet sweat in store bought cotton socks too.

Jackie love the sock!! I joined a mini sock swap on here one time it was a lot of fun :yay:

Carla, we did look into it but the loan plus rent/bills would just make it crazy right now…can’t wait to see the finished dishrag :yay:

Gina~yeah he is almost 6’2" and built like Isaiah (short legs, long mid section) :teehee:…Isaiah is always in a bigger shirt for his age and smaller pant…I didn’t know that…thank you for telling me that, the price there was crazy!!:oo:

Julie~Bella can open up doors better than Gideon… but doors closed drive him crazy. He will hit our door full force trying to knock it open. He sleeps downstairs at night time 'cause when he finally does break in he knocks at the blinds and won’t let us sleep…if I go in by myself he will lay down with me and sleep as soon as JD comes in he starts doing anything to annoy JD:teehee:

Lieke~I’m glad you liked the job, fingers crossed, and hope you are resting now :hug:Will they be doing it again?

Chris~ great sig!

Lisa~

QOTD: Isaiah got Roo this morning he said “come and look outside at the Eagle, it’s something else…” of course she went and looked there was no Eagle, which started a fight…Ray called and told me it didn’t look he would be coming for Easter has he can’t get off…then said April Fools…:teehee:

It’s quiet here the kids went up to Jackson’s…I don’t know what I’ll do next year when it’s quiet during the day, prolly go stir crazy…

Hi everyone!

“Girl Scouts, they never shut up, the more that you “shush” them the louder they get! Sometimes I think about Duct Tape, but something inside me keeps saying “won’t work, won’t work, won’t work””
(Best version of “Green Socks” ever created.)

My mom claims to still be 21. This makes for some imaginative biological discussions, as I am now 22.

I can confidently say that I have at least one best friend.
I mean…:oo: You didn’t see anything, you can’t prove I did it! :hiding:

:teehee:

I think your mom has a version of the marriage clock - a new bride can do in 6-months what a long married woman takes 9 months to do.

Everyone needs at least one best friend, I’m glad you have one.

No knitting for me today. My shoulder was too sore.

Tonight is “personal trainer” night at the gym. Hopefully that will loosen up my shoulder a bit. We shall see!

OK, so the postal truck finally came and here’s the picture of my new purse. I think I have everything ready now except for an outfit to wear. A friend of mine is dying my hair on Sunday and another friend of mine is letting me go “shopping” in her closet tomorrow. If I can’t find anything there, then I’ll have to buy something to wear on our anniversary.

Have a great night :knitting:

Chris: Sorry you spent your birthday alone. By the way, little Brownies are tough little birds and so are Girl Guides! They chatter and giggle and are quite distracting! Are you prepared for this???

Also, I LOVE that quote in your signature. It’s so true! Which kind of friends do you have? I think I have “good friends” at that’s about it! I hope you had a good friend or a best friend hanging around last night to make you feel special on such a special birthday!!

:yay: They’re done!! :yay:
see blog post today for details

Love that purse!

Dustina I too want to know what sweater will be your first knit.
Gina could you explain ease and how do you know what it will be for every pattern.
Hi Everyone.
I am working on the sleeves for my sweater, they are coming along nicely. Bad thing is I am already thinking about my next sweater. Well, at least I don’t give up easily! :wall:
Went shopping at Little Knits, a sale of course and bought some of the Noro Sock Yarn, 45% off. I want to see it knit up. And for the price I figured I could try it out.
It is back to cold weather for us. I thought for a moment Spring was here, but I guess it was a tease.
