Any Sock KAL 2

Hey I resemble that, three kidney stone attacks early in the morning at work, drove 40 minutes home each time. We are just part of the John Wayne school of medical treatment.

Yes Dustina that was my full intent. :roflhard: not. Glad they’re done & I can’t wait to see the pictures. Hope JD gets to feeling better & no one else gets it. And I hope your GF is doing lots better too; pick on him, it’s good for him

OK so the 2 links I gave y’all have been tossed aside for the bunnies…I made one of theselast night & it’s so fast & super easy & cute. I’ll take pics later when the kids are napping; hopefully. The body is about the size/shape of a peanut, so cute the kids are gonna love them!!! And they’re super fast to knit too!
this isn’t my photo; but just to give you an idea of what they look like…

It has been a while since I have posted on here, have been trying to keep up on whats going on.

Ann - I am so sorry to read about your mum. I hope now that the funeral is over you will be able to take some time to reflect and come to terms with your feelings. Thinking of you and your family.

Dustina - Sorry to hear about your Granddad. I hope the fact that he was able to drive himself to the clinic is a good sign?? Hope JD gets better soon, So you can get back to your routine. I have to say I am dreading having Ron home everyday, will have to make him do so much work around the house that he will run to any job that comes along.

Julie - cute bunnies.

Lisa - do you have any photo of Disney, have never been there would love to see.

That is what I could remember for the moment. hope everybody else are healthy and happy.

Lieke, you don’t need a doctor’s RX to get the cervical collar. It’s just to give your muscles a break. You can get your paper done and you know you REALLY WANT TO!

Dustina, how’s your grandfather doing? Is JD any better? I hate it when DH is sick. Men are such babies!

(Sorry Chris!) Yeah, the John Wayne school of medicine only works for the big stuff. The little stuff…Not so much! (I know , I know, broad generalization from limited experience…)

Julie, CUTE bunny!

Karina, nice to hear from you on here. When does Ron’s job run out?
We just found out that DH’s sallary is being cut by 20%. It’s better than losing his job, but things will be tight around here!

Ann, how are you holding up? You’re in my thoughts and prayers!

Gina - Sorry to hear about your husband, but you are right at least he still has a job. it is a scary time for all at the moment I think.
Ron finishes this Friday. He has started back with his studies, he worked up to where he is today with no qualifications. Because he has always worked he only ever finished part of his Accounts qualifications but now he has started back up. He thinks he might be out of work for some time so he think he will use the time to try and get qualified.

Julie~ That is too cute!! :yay:

Karina~:hug:Your in my prayers! He was still confused when mom got there and was having trouble with his thoughts…I think God was driving :teehee:

Gina~Your in my prayers! I talked to him today and he was kinda down, he laughed a bit but not like he usually does. He is scared right now and wants them to hurry up with the tests so he is kinda being a bad patient right now…:teehee:

Here is my thumb…I posted more picts of the steps I went through on my blog…

JD is feeling a bit better but still under the weather…I gotta run and take the kids to church, I’m always running late…:oo:

Dustina - I read your blog, what a good save. it turned out really nice. After seeing all them ends I think I will stick to two coloured fair isle/standed knitting.

Dustina, I love that mitten.

Gina, I’m not sure where to get such cervical collar here in the Netherlands, that’s what I have to contact my GP for. He told me where to get the wrist and ankle braces as well. Painkillers are kicking in fortunately. Hopefully tomorrow will be the last day I need them, I don’t like taking to many of them, but well, if it works…

Managed to get the introduction of my paper done today. Tomorrow I’ll do the Method, Friday, I’ll go to university to finish the results (need to work with SPSS again, yuck) and Monday, I’ll tackle the discussion part. That leaves me with Tuesday and Thursdaymornig when things take a bit longer than I expect. Planning like this always makes me feel better. Now I know I’ll make it in time. Hopefully that helps to get the pain in my neck away either.

Dustinac: I totally missed the post about your grandfather. I am so sorry! I hope he’s feeling better soon! He’s in the right place for medical treatment though, so tell him to be patient. Great mitten, by the way!

Julie: Cute bunny. Just big enough for little hands to hang onto!

Chris: John Wayne be darned, when you men are sick you NEED to admit it. My DH went to physio a week ago for his knees (arthritis). While he was there they put a hot pack on him and didn’t cover his whole skin with the towel first. He did not tell them and now he has an inch long and 1/4 inch wide 3rd degree burn on his leg. He refused to complain, but while he was at work today, I called and told the physio owner. This sort of thing can not be ignored because it was a student that did it. He needs to know the proper and the improper ways to do things, especially if it impacts the patient. DH is not happy with me for complaining but I don’t care!

Ann: I hope things went well for you today! Now get some rest and treat yourself kindly.

Carla and Karina: Nice to see you both. I hope you are both well and knitting!

Lisa: I’m downright green with envy but very glad you had an enjoyable holiday! NOW WHERE ARE THE PICTURES???

Gina: The silver lining in your situation is that your DH still has a job. I hear that a lot down there don’t anymore. I’m sure you will be able to manage. You’re very good at budgeting.

YES WE DO OCCASIONALLY TALK ABOUT SOCK KNITTING! OK so my sister and I were talking today and she reminded me that I owe her a pair of hand knit socks because she crocheted my DGD a blanket for her dolly. I spoke to DH on his lunch and he said to put his socks aside and work on hers, just to shut her up LOL! I did that. I am knitting her a pair of Lacy Mock Cable Socks in Bernat Sox Faded Denim. I have already got the ribbing done and two repeats of the pattern on the first sock. It was a rainy day today so I took advantage of that. I’m actually quite pleased with how these are turning out and they are going so quickly. My shoulder is acting up a bit now so I went and had a hot shower and put the knitting away for today. I’ll do some more tomorrow.

morning,

Ann -

Dustina - Congratulations ! U did it. The thumb looks nice. How’s yr grandpa feeling ?

Gina - sorry about DH’s pay cut. dont worry, things will be jus fine.

Good morning all,

Christine, yay for sock-knitting. And great you managed to get so much done.

Ann, you’re still in my thoughts

Well, my neck feels better today. I didn’t have pain last night and the pain right now is hardly noticable. I’ll take the painkillers today, and stop them again tomorrow and see if the pain stays away. If it doesn’t I’ll call in sick for work on saturday, but hopefully it stays away. I think I’ll try to do some knitting today. And hopefully, my method-section won’t be as much work as I expected, so I don’t have to work on my pc for a long period of time.

By the way, is anybody of you on Twitter. I’m there as BreiselsLieke

I just signed up for twitter, not really sure what it is all about. my name there is karinadk. Clicked to follow you Leike.

:sun: Good Morning Socksters!

Karina~ yeah it took some time to weave them, when I finish something I want it done not have to weave

Lieke~I’m glad your neck is feeling better! I do the same thing, it helps me to feel like I’m in control of the situation…

Christine~I can’t wait to see them :happydance:

Jackie~ I’m not brave…ya’ll encouraged me to do it, I was jut gonna frog it

Ann~ :hug::heart::hug:

Today is another rainy gloomy day here but it’s warm! JD is feeling better so he is back at work today. We have dance class this morning and then I tend to hit this house like crazy when I get home.

:hug:Thank you for your prayers! They got my grandfather’s blood work back yesterday and wanted him to go the hospital but he refused. He is dehydrated and his sodium level is very low. Today my mom is taking him over and they will put 2units of fluid in him they told mom it would take about 5hrs. Then tomorrow he will go back and they will re-check his levels. We thought he was past his fear of drinking, my grandmother spent the last years of her life on dialysis and it was so hard to watch and so hard on her, that he doesn’t want to go through that. He thinks if he drinks it will work his kidneys to hard and they will give out on him :wall:

They are still sitting up test appts for the other things they wanna run though. My mom was getting all her dishrag yarn together last night, that is what she is going to work on today :teehee:

I hope you all have a wonderful day of knitting :sun:

ETA :I forgot to say that I’m not on twitter, but was talked into starting a facebook account I think I’m dustinac on there too…I don’t check it very often though lol

Morning!

Ann~ :grphug:

Karina & Christine~Older DD took a ton of pics on her digital camera and also on a couple of the disposable cameras once her battery died. As soon as she uploads them and sends them to me, I’ll post some pics.

Lieke~Glad your neck feels better and your making progress on the master paper. I’m not on Twitter, but have heard a lot of people are joining it. I’ll have to check it out.

Christine~I would have complained to the physio place too. They need to know these things happen so they can address them.

Karina~Hope your DH won’t drive you too crazy once he’s home. You’ll have to make him a “honey-do” list to keep him busy.:teehee:

Julie~Cute bunny! The kids will love them!

Gina~A friend of ours had her pay cut 20% too. She felt the same way, just glad she still had her job. I’ve got to say though that seeing the amount of people that were at Disney (the resort hotels were at 99% capacity) you would not think that there was an economic crisis. The parks were packed, long lines to check out in the gift shops, long waits in restaurants (even where my parents live). Either the media is making the economy seem worse than it really is, or people just don’t care anymore and are spending their money anyways.

Jackie~Hi!

Hi to everyone! Hope you all have a great day!

Lisa - Exactly what I had in mind. I will be contacting Chris’s wife for suggestions.

  This is a great idea!

Lisa~Can’t wait to see the pictures!

Hi everyone! :yay:

I noticed and I’m following you as well now. I only got my twitter account for a few days now, but it’s nice. I love the 140 character limit. You can put a quick message which doesn’t take a lot of time. With my blog, it usually takes me at least 10 minutes to get the post out, on twitter I can get one out in less than a minute. I linked my twitter to my blog, so now my blog is updated as well.

Hi everyone! Wow, I missed a lot yesterday! Emily and I were home yesterday because she somehow pulled a muscle in her neck on Tuesday afternoon, and could barely move Tuesday night and most of the day yesterday. Today she’s doing better and back at school. She’s still a little sore, but I think she’s OK.

Dustina, I’m glad your granddad is doing a little better. Funny how we get these ideas about cause and effect, and stick to them like glue. I hope the docs can convince your granddad that his kidneys need water to work right! I’m glad JD is doing better, too.

I can’t remember now who else had a prayer request, but I did say a prayer about it yesterday when I read it. I hope everyone is healthy today!

Ann:  Try to relax a little today.

Dustina: Hope your grandfather gets over his fear of hospitals and can get the help he needs. The mitten looks great. Hope JD is better today.

Julie: The bunny is cute.

Karina: Good for hubby to continue with his education but really hope that another opportunity comes up for him soon.

Gina: Sorry to hear about the cut. Like others have said, at least he still has a job. Use all your budgeting skills and hopefully the yarn diet won’t be too strict.

Christine: Glad the socks are going well for you. Don’t overdo it though.

Lisa: Look forward to pictures. I haven’t been to Disney for years and I am sure that there have been so many changes.

I finished my last doll outfit. Will take a picture later.

Happy Knitting.
