Any Sock KAL 2

Carey~ I need to start walking again now that it’s pretty. I have a little go knit pouch so I can walk and knit socks at the track

Sue~Can’t wait to see the last doll outfit!

morning everyone!

:waving: Ann

Tonight is knit night! missed it last time & the time before the lys owner, betsy, was out of town so it’s been 6 weeks since the last one; I’m really having withdrawls. I thought of taking my little whiper cardigan but think instead I’m going to take some scrap sock yarn and knit 3 little squares, one for each kid & then fold into bunnies. The pattern is here. I made these a couple years ago for my cousins twins that were born at 24 weeks.

not my pic but I’m gonna make them little like this since the kids really like small toys to put into their pockets; they’ll go faster too.

Sue, the yarn was great to work with! I doubled it for the hat, and it was a breeze.

Dustina, good for you for figuring it out! I’m pretty sure I would fall on my face (or more likely on my needles!) if I tried to walk and knit socks…

Julie, those bunnies are adorable! I can’t believe you can make one from a knitted square! Thanks for posting the pattern.

I don’t think there’s an inflammation, just the usual stuff. I’m kind of stressed about the masterpaper and the job interview and that always gets to my muscles. With the hypermobility, that’s just what happens. The only surprise is what part of my body will be affected this time, but I can predict pretty sure when I’ll be in pain. Got the painkillers now, they always work great. They get me to move the muscles again, which helps with the stiffness and relieves the pain, ever after I stop taking them.

Julie those bunnys are cute. I know you’ll do a great job on them and yours will be as cute as the ones in the pic.

Dustina, I always hoped I’d be able to knit and walk once, but I’m pretty experienced now and still can’t manage walking and knitting at the same time. I love walking, but no knitting for me while walking. Well, with our Dutch weather at the moment (heavy rain and sun following one another and the rain being unpredictable) I don’t want to walk anyway.

I really want to knit, but I know I shouldn’t. I was in too much pain last night, I don’t want to skip another night of sleep. But watching TV without knitting is just so boring and I can´t play computergames either. Yuck, hope the pain will be gone soon.

Julie I’ve made bunnies like that before and they are adorable! I made one about 1.5 inches long as a “good luck” gift for a friend - if one rabbit’s foot is lucky, here’s 4, so don’t be nervous (he had a solo in something, don’t remember what).
Leike - hope your soreness goes away soon!
Hi, everybody!

Ok real quick my eeepc battery is about dead and I’m outside so I can’t plug it in unless I go in the garage…I’ve cut and have a hole for the thumb, now it sits between the red/yellow should I do the thumb in those 2 colors or…??? :teehee:

Lieke~It took some doing and now JD finds it pretty funny me walking and knitting around the track…take it easy I know it’s hard to go without knitting

Julie~Those are really cute!!:yay:

:hug:Thanks Gina and jackie for encouraging me to cut…I wouldn’t say I liked it but it worked…I cut a wrong thread so had to take out another section that I was suppose to but I don’t think you can tell it :teehee: At least now I can say Yes, I have cut my knitting…:passedout:

Dustina, that’s really brave of you. I still have to cut my knitting. I’m nervous about it, but I have to do it if I ever want to finish my brocade leaves cardi.

thanks guys, also found these, same concept, make a bunny out of a square…now which do I make? suggestions please?

Dustina ask Roo what colors to use on the thumbs; kids usually make pretty good color choices.

Ann, you’re in my thoughts and prayers!

Jackie, I NEVER use DPNS–don’t have any! I use ML for EVERYTHING circular! You shouldn’t have any holes at the joins. You can even keep moving the place where you loop the cable and you’ll never even have a join!

Lieke, hope your neck is feeling better. It can also help to wear a cervical collar to give the muscles a break. I wear one when I’m on the computer for any length of time or when I’m knitting for a longer period or just when my neck gets cranky. My Dr. recommended it to give my muscles a break and it really works!

Carey, I totally get your boredom with the scarf. I’m SO bored with my MIL’s sweater! Stockinette is DULL to knit. The only good thing is that I can do it while I’m paying attention to other stuff.

Sue, your handiwork is wonderful!

Julie, I like the first bunnies! So cute!!!

Dustina, I would do a brown thumb to match the tip and cuff, but you could do the stripe colors, too. I"m so proud of you for giving it a shot! I had to cut my Hey Teach to lengthen it. Which, by the way, is shown below! FINALLY I got to wear it!

Gina :inlove: that looks fantastic!!! :woot:

Gina :inlove: that looks fantastic!!! :woot:

Gina: That looks lovely and a great fit.

Dustina: You are brave. How did the mitten turn out.

Julie: The bunnies are cute.

Ann: I hope today went well. I certainly hope tomorrow is over quickly for you and that is goes well also. Hugs to you my friend!

Gina: Your sweater looks fantastic! It fits really well.

Sue: You should open up a store to sell greeting cards. Yours are beautiful.

Julie: Cute bunnies. I bet the kids will love them!

Dustinac: OMG… I’d never be brave enough to steek anything. Congrats to you! I think you should ask Roo what colour she wants her thumb to be.

Nothing much went on here today. It was a very slow day, thankfully.

I’m charged back up :teehee:

Gina that looks great!!

Thanks everyone I prolly should have read a bit more 'cause I had to cut the red and white sts and then didn’t know what to do with the bits hanging after I had my sts free…but I think I got them secure…I’ll hopefully have pictures tomorrow of it…

I need to ask for prayers…I just got off the phone with my mom and my grandfather had a stroke today and they are thinking he has been having mini strokes…but today he lost his sight and lost about 2hrs of time, they believe he was unconscious…when he got up he still didn’t feel right but somehow got inside the house, bagged up all his meds, and drove himself to the clinic…they called mom and told her and when she showed up he said ohhh I didn’t want them to bother you (cute but also :wall:) he will have tests ran tomorrow…these times make me really really wish I was in WV…:verysad:

morning,

Dustina - You are SO brave :yay:, another step toward being a knitting guru :woot: . Yay boy, it is getting warmer to knit

Ann - :grphug:
Gina - You looks great in Hey Tech :cheering:. Ok, i shall use a ML to replace a 16" length c.n.

Julie - thanks for the cute bunnies pattern, i think i will try out the second link.

Gina, thanks for the advice. If the pain doesn’t go away, I’ll ask my GP about it. Your Hey Teach came out beautifully.

Dustina, your grandfather is in my thoughts:hug:

Well, I really have to work on my masterpaper today, although I’m totally not motivated anymore. I want it finished thursday next week, and still have quite a bit to do, so I really have to pull myself together and work on it today.

Dustina: Healing thoughts being sent to your grandfather.

Christine: Nice thought about the cards, but they are time consuming and people do not want to pay much for handmade goods. I have sold a couple of my knitting ones though.

Lieke: Hope the neck is getting better.

Hi to everyone.

Morning everyone. Still haven’t had a chance to read through all the days I’ve missed, so I will just jump back in at this point. We had a really nice vacation. Spent 4 days with my parents and the rest of the week at Disney. Weather was great, mid 70’s low humidity and breezy. Glad to be back home though. I never sleep well when I’m away from home.

Ann~Continued prayers coming your way. Hope you are hanging in there okay.

Dustina~Prayers for your GF too. He drove himself to the clinic??!! DH is like that too. Drove himself to the doctors when he had a kidney stone and once when he was having a gall bladder attack. (I wasn’t home either time) Crazy guys.

Gina~Hey teach looks great on you!

Hi to everyone! Will check back in later. Hope you all have a great day!

:sun: Good Morning Socksters!!

Lieke~You can do it! :happydance:

Sue~I still want to learn how to make the cards, they are amazing! :yay:

Lisa~I’m glad you guys had a good time! If JD is with me I still sleep like a baby but when he is up here and I’m back home I have restless nights. Yep, this isn’t the first time he has done this he also drove him self to the hospital with a gallbladder, they called mom and told her before his surgery :teehee:. It’s my dad’s father but mom is always tracking him down…he has driven himself to the ER when he thought he was having a heart attack too…the closest hospital to them is 30-40 min drive. I’m going to call him later and pick on him…tell him he better start behaving

:hug:Thanks everyone for your prayers!

Ya’ll really wanna send my OCD into over time don’t ya…Let Roo pick the colors . My eeePC dropped before I read those and the thumb was almost finished last night when I read them.

I’ll try to get pictures today, let’s see how long it takes to weave in all the ends :oo:

JD missed yesterday 'cause he was sick and today he is sick. He sounds horrible and does need to stay home but it puts a kink in Roo/my routine…today is sweeper day but I can’t do that…I can’t change our sheets…uhh I’m not sure what I’ll do today but take the kids to play practice and take care of JD (he really does sound awful when he tries to cough it makes my chest hurt)

Yesterday we were outside mostly while he rested but today it’s rainy and gloomy spring weather

I hope you all have a wonderful day of knitting :sun:
