Any Sock KAL 2

Steve, I just got my kp cat. in the mail yesterday and they now have gloss in laceweight (wool/silk blend). Check it out n see if it’s kewl!!!:woot:

OMGSH… what a way to find out that I won something…:roflhard: :roflhard: :happydance: :happydance:  :woot: :yay: :woohoo:

It has been very busy as you can tell I have not been on for to many days!!! DH and I had to take a road trip to AL this past monday for a friend who lost his DGD (7) in a house fire. Before that we all were outside since the weather permited 70 degrees then NOW only high 30’s.

I haven’t even went back to look at any postings here just because I got the great news from ALL of you. That is soooo great that you all looked at the site because I never even thought about it. Now I feel really bad because I was not going to do this months pattern. I just dont like the animal thingy on it.

dotty~ I was worried after I kidded you last night you wouldn’t find it funny…after I went to bed I almost got up to edit it…

:inlove: love the dishrag and :inlove: :inlove: double love the Elvis in the background!!

Steve~Alpaca Cloud is nice to work with and Tami mentioned the new gloss…I’ve tried that in the sock yarn and love it…so I can’t wait to try it in the lace :happydance:

Silegose~ aww how sad for the family…they are in my prayers…I couldn’t figure out at first if it was chicks or what…but it’s a flower…bluebell? I don’t know flowers :teehee: Congrats!!

I finished the test knit :woohoo: and worked on Roo’s top between sun and cloudy…it’s kinda chilly out there when the sun is hiding…so we come in…and then run back out…

I tried socks this morning. I have a lot of nice sock yarn but I want to practice on cheaper yarn. I bought sport-weight baby yarn at Wal-Mart. I have a video that uses two circulars but I misplaced the written instructions so I tried using DPNs and a book today. I think that once I get used to the DPNs I might be okay at this but I don’t think the baby yarn was a wise choice. It just feels funny. I got my CD today that I ordered from here with all of the videos on this site. It’s great! I saved the videos to my desktop. At least if I lose or break something they are still there. Now I need some speakers that work.

I made these socks from baby yarn when I first started knitting socks…they were my 4th pair, I think. Not the greatest yarn I’ve ever used, but do-able.

I sent them to my daughter, so I’m not sure how well they wear and hold up…I’ve heard that acylic stretches out and doesn’t come back until they’re washed again.

I thought that they wouldn’t be a big loss if they came out bad and it’s a big skein. The texture is weird, though.

Anyone on here remember who did the quick lace stole just a little while back? I remember wanting to try it, but I didn’t print the pattern.

siameezerlady my head is with you I have only had one migraine. It lasted three days. In the service after a couple of months at a forward artillery base we moved back to the rear area. After months of tension my body didn’t know how to adapt to “safety” and no tension. The pain was bad enough that I couldn’t see. I hurt every time someone says migraine.

Take care.

Dotty I love the washrag-maybe you could make a bunch of those and make Zoe a little quilt? Or you could put 4 of them together and they’d make a great preemie blanket? Very cute & pretty pink.

I went to the viewing but not the funeral since it was outside in the freezing wind. There was only 5 of us at the viewing and only 5 at the funeral not counting the Bagpiper (sp?) & preacher. But then we all met up for lunch later and there was 9 of us for that. It was time that he went ‘home’ and I think that makes the morning process easier for everyone.

I’ve dusted today and went to Lowes & bought a 5gal. mop bucket and a ‘industiral size’ mop to make my moping life easier  Well I just remembered I need to get milk and since the kids (all 3) are playing with Dad I think I’ll get my shoes on and go get it. ttfn & happy :knitting:

 dotty was it the Stolen MomentsI did for a Christmas gift? It used a bulky weight…you could use any weight though just take longer with lace weight…

Chris~I hope you feel better soon too

Julie~ I’m glad you got to go…

Cyndi~ I can’t wait to see your first socks :yay:

Steve - hope u can get the prefect lace yarn for your project.

Devon - what is your choice of prize ?

Well Boots felt good enough today to have his photo shoot. Sorry, I know you all must be sick of hearing about Boots, but I just HAVE to brag again. Here is my DFLS in all his glory!

No, Dustina, it wasn’t the Stolen Moments Wrap…that was too long ago. I remember it too ! This one was just a week or two ago, I think…seems like it was Sue in Canada or someone newer like that that is newer to the thread than us ‘old regulars’ from the first thread. I remember them saying that they were trying lace knitting for the first time.

Speaking for myself, I can’t get tired of that little face, Christine !

ooh…Boots is so cute ! Have u ever thought of sending the pics for doggie model competitions ?

No, I never thought of that. He’s still pretty young…

Boots is super cute! :muah:

 Dotty I was talking about lace & using the forest canopy lace shawl I know you can find the link on Ravelry & the Pi shawl from Elizabeth Zimmerman… any of those ring a bell? Gina’s shawl is the Upstairs Stole (on Ravelry). :??

Hi friends,
Can’t type much. Fingers are flared up. I’m trying to teach myself to watch TV without knitting or typing on here. Not nearly as interesting. Been reading posts, so HI EVERYONE!:waving:

Nice pics!

Julie, I’m so excited about the shawl! What great friends I have!

Nope, it wasn’t any of those shawls, Julie ! It was something super simple, very little pattern. I’ve been scouring Ravelry, because I know I saw examples of it on there, too, after someone shared it, but no luck. I’m considering doing a Feather and Fan, but knitting it lengthwise instead of widthwise. Also considering the drop-stitch scarf I did, only doing it big enough for a shoulder wrap,… also done lengthwise instead of widthwise.
Just bored and looking for something new to do !
Think I’ll go to bed now…they rescheduled Mikes evaluation examination for May 16th…after us waiting over a month for tomorrow’s visit ! Oh, well…April has never been good luck for us, so God knows it’s better if we wait until May !
Night all !

I will never get tired of hearing about Boots. I wanna eat him up. Dustinac–my first socks are…um…interesting! More in my blog thread.

Well I finished the sock…

The second (on the left) turned out slightly bigger than the first–inconsistent tension, I’m sure. It’s close enough. I used the “damp blocking” method since I don’t have sock blockers.
