The weather is warming up here but even during a heat wave (a rare thing) it is so cool in the house I still need a sweater!

I still haven’t seamed my last sweater, distracted and delayed by one thing or another (I wasn’t well but after that I still didn’t seam it and, on reflecion, I suspect I don’t like it! There is no motivation to complete it).
I spent several days making a cowl to match my sweater… and when it was finished I hated it. Frogged.
I spent this past week making a sweater and already dislike it. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I don’t like anything I make.
I usually don’t work in the round, but I did with this one. I learned how to make it jogless with a Patty Lyons trick on the last stitch. No way I will attempt the sleeves in the round though.

And a pic of the inside to show my slightly rebelious float trapping, every other stitch.

If you feel done with it and don’t want to do sleeves, maybe knit an edge at the armholes and just call it?

Is there a recurring reason you don’t like the things you make? Does the technique look fun to do but wearing the garment doesn’t? Or vice versa? Or is it the colors or shapes?

I think it’s probably just a disparity between what I like to make and what I like to wear. I do very much like the colour work design as a fabric. I enjoyed knitting it. I like the grey with black. The size (so far) looks fine. But I don’t want to wear it.
I think this is my character. I love art and sculpture (adore the recent Banksy sculpture in London) and used to make art, but don’t want it in my home (i only display pics of, or by, my son), I write poetry but don’t enjoy reading it (I read novels, literary fiction, literary non-fiction, satire…). There are prob a lot of opposites in my personality.
I have given away many things i have knit because i won’t wear them.

I continue to work on shawl and decide to not do one color because I will not have enough yarn.

It’s decreasing at one end and starts to increase on the other. Trying to work on it more when I am feeling well. Health wise it’s never a dull moment..

Already warm here. Starting June i ought to be laying low on hot steamy days and can go out on good days

Well, if the process is what you enjoy I think that’s still worth doing… Nothing wrong with giving them away either, you probably make some people happy with it. But if you want to knit something for yourself, can your current wardrobe be a source of inspiration? Like what things you do wear often and why?

Alright, I’ve been here for a bit and haven’t shown anything yet so here’s what I’m currently working on

These are two swatches I’ve made in preparation for another beanie for my best friend this time. Today I just finished a small swatch were I tested out some reductions hiding in the transition from ribbing to stockinette, as well as some ladderback for the monochrome areas of the pattern. I didn’t bother making it too tall because I mostly needed information for the ratio lengthwise and to learn the ladderback…

This one was the first one I did, simulating the round and testing out the general aspect I’m planning. Besides my very first attempt at knitting where I had no idea what I was doing besides having fun, this was my first time really doing fair isle :joy:

I washed and blocked it with pins after the photo, but it still has some puckering in the monochrome areas, hence the ladderback learning. I also figured out what mistake I was making on the tubular cast on that had caused some stitches to be twisted. I really enjoy the way it looks and feel! I’m gonna double check some math but I’m about ready to cast on the actual beanie

So many useful and elegant techniques in one beanie! This is going to be great looking.

My final cycle chemo jumper is the structure loops sweater by other loops. I’m struggling with brain fog and have had to rework a few stitches
The sides are k2, p,k,p,k, p,k,p,k,p, k2, p,k,p,k and I have muddled this up a few times. I have now become adept at taking off only incorrect stitches & undoing them for as many rows as are needed and then reknitting just these stitches the correct way.
I have now made 6 completely different jumpers and each marks my journey. I’ll be glad to rest my thumbs over the summer as I’m finding I overheat whilst knitting. My daughter has claimed half of my creations. The other 3 I am keeping.

Wear these tops in good health. They are a lovely and remarkable achievement.
Glad that the final cycle of chemo is behind you. Enjoy wearing the tops all year!

Keep going, you are doing awesome

This one is gorgeous! I love the stitch pattern and the colours you have chosen. All beautiful.
Be well. You’re doing great.

I am working on an Afghan for my grand-daughter-in-law’s Christmas gift. She chose the colors of dark green, light blue and baby pink. I said it needed some white in it so it wouldn’t be so dark. I am using the old feather and fan pattern but I do it a little different. On the row of the pattern that produces the ridge on the right side is usually a knit on the wrong side. Well, I purl that row and it makes a different look. Try a few rows and purl the last row of the pattern. You might like it better.
