Even more lovely new patterns for summer knitting and crochet. Lots for cozy winter items too if that’s your hemisphere. What have you finished lately or what are you currently working on? Plans for your needles and hooks in the months ahead? We’d love to see all of the above.
The brownish gold one is Astrid Sweater and the stripe is After the Rain.
When I get bored with one, I work on the other one.
AND…I am still unable to resize my photos. Google tells me to launch the photo app and choose the picture I want to resize. Then click edit. There’s no “edit” for me to click. If I post my projects, they’ll just have to look like yarn until I figure this out.
The sweaters are both lovely. So good to be able to switch between projects.
If you have a second pane to the right of the Reply box you can resize to a certain extent there. Once the photo shows up, click below the photo itself and choose to resize at one of the 3 percents listed.
You can also use a program like Picresize online to work with the photos.
Thank you. I’ll try both.
If you click “Edit” on your current posts, you should get the extra pane to the right, and be able to resize the photos there. I always pick on 50%.
Those tops are both lovely!
I’m on the second sleeve for my current sweater.
I am loving it. It is soft, drapes beautifully, semi see-through with the lighter yarn on larger needles, and it seem to be going pretty well.
I love the centre cable seperating at the v and working around the neck line. The stitch at the separation was somewhat loose so I’ve put a little stitch on the inside to strengthen it.
The shoulders are seamed but the sides are not yet seamed.

I’m debating colours for another project I hope to make so I can order some yarn but I am so rubbish choosing colours. I just keep staring at the online colour options and getting nowhere.
Thinking of trying out shadow knitting and garter intarsia!
Shadow knitting is amazing! I’ve spent a good while looking at it and keep thinking it would be great on a sweater, a secret image or message.
I knitted a swatch this afternoon, found it a lot easier than expected and enjoyed it. Thinking about what else I could make with it, now!
That looks great. Did you make a chart for this or follow a pattern?
A shawl or scarf would work well, mittens too I think. My vague idea for a sweater was to knit it sideways as that’s the only way it could be viewed to see the hidden pattern. When I see a relatively simple shape like your swatch it’s a great reminder it doesn’t need to be overly complex to be really effective.
Thanks I printed a simple chart I found on someone’s blog, think I’ll find something a little more complex for the next one, then see if I can design my own lol.
I like the idea of wearing an illusion knit design - they’re really mesmerising to see in person!
Well done! It’s so much fun to see these illusion patterns. Mona Lisa is a favorite.
Imagine a replica of a famous art gallery, but all the paintings were knitted pieces (some illusion), that would be something else!
I get the impression the fabric needs to be knit fairly tightly, making it firm, but I saw this remarkable tunic version of one of the Steve Plummer patterns and it looks soft and ever so chic!

Well I guess I’ve been on a knitting break due to home renovation projects that took over my life for a few months. But with most everything back in order and I can sit back and relax somewhat, I’m going to get to some of those wip that I’d like to finish up first before starting anything new. So first I am finishing the second of a pair of socks. I thought I left myself good notes of my progress before putting aside but it took me a bit to figure out what I was doing. But I think I got it now. Anyway good to be back!
Welcome back to knitting the WIPs. Enjoy all your new renovations and the calm you have now!
Hello everyone!
It’s been an uncharacteristically long time for me not to be here. I’ve been dealing with a very poorly cat and my head hasn’t been in the game at all!
I’ve got a sleeve to finish on a top down sweater but the first one was a little narrower than I would have liked and it’s put me off being bothered to finish it. I also started a really silly intarsia jumper but then realised I don’t have enough mental energy for intarsia so I’ve knitted one sleeve.
So basically I’ve got one jumper altogether.
Golly gosh Creations! More absolutely stunning stuff!
Ah, that’s very encouraging, thank you!
For what it’s worth my sleeves didn’t work out well at all for this sweater (i have another thread showing the awful sleeves and i made two identical awful sleeves instead of just one!). I thiught everything was going a bit too smoothy, ha! I’ve now remade two new sleeves, just about to seam the second kne to the sweater. The sweater I made before this I made six sleeves. Yes, six.
So, you are not alone in your sleeve stutter, I am firmly there with you, frogging and remaking.
Whether you start again the sleeve wih an improved size, or take up something less demanding for an inbetween project to give you some enjoyment, either way, i expect getting back to knitting will feel nice.
I’m really sorry to hear about your poorly cat, it’s so upsetting when pets aren’t well.
