Whatcha' Knitting? December, 2025

That sounds fab (not the yarn snobs bit lol). The yarn does look beautiful in any case!

Yes, I got lucky this year in the gift exchange.

I am working on a hat for myself,(I am losing my hair on the crown area) using Knit Picks Swish DK weight yarn in the color Dove Heather.

Can you share a pattern for these adorable tree ornaments? They are so cute.

I’m knitting a pullover for myself. Berroco Comfort yarn — I found in my stash. It’s very splitty yarn which makes fixing mistakes difficult.

The pattern is a mishmash of 3 sources.
2.75 mm and 3.25 mm needles

Used 3 sources:

  1. Used chart from twisted argyle vest (premiereyarns.com)

  2. Used chart from Norah Gaughan’s Twisted Stitch Sourcebook page 55 mock cable.

  3. Patons Back to Basics Book 1 — adult pullover set in sleeve size B & C

Berroco has been offering free knitting patterns for tiny Christmas sweaters for many years, starting around 2007.

I would Google Berroco.com and search for tiny Christmas Sweaters on their site. Or search for “free tiny Christmas sweater patterns”and many sites will come up like Berroco and Love Crafts.

Love it. The stitches work so well in the yarn, they really suit each other. I love how you’ve designed it too.

Well, here I am, finally posting the finished “Queen Bee Cardigan”. Just finished yesterday (Jan. 4/26). What a ride it was. So happy with it too. I am also posting on Ravelry. I thank all of you kind people for helping me along the way. I couldn’t have done it without you, truly. Had hoped to be done before our Garden Club Christmas Luncheon, but I was really having problems with my hands, so took a couple of weeks off.

What a marvelous result!

I hope your hands are feeling better after the rest.

It’s a triumph! This was not an easy pattern with all its graphs but you managed to make it work. Good going. Thank you for showing us the beautiful result.

Wow so beautiful work and design. Love it

Beautiful knitting and the color looks so good with your black dress.

I speed knitted my very first colorwork project and taught myself how to carry floats about halfway through! Cast on 12/2 and gifted to a friend on 12/27. What a fun hobby :two_hearts: So that puts total projects ever at a bag, a beer cozy, a sample cable work piece, a washcloth, and a 5 ft colorwork scarf in the round with fringe. Looking forward to the new year!!

That’s gorgeous, those colours go great together (I’m not sure if those were the pattern designer’s choice or yours but I like them!)

I made a bunch of tiny sweater ornaments years ago. They are fun projects because the are so small and don’t take too much time and you can say you made a whole lot of sweater very quickly.

With the help of the wonderful folks on this forum, I got it done. As I went along it got easier. I have been receiving lots of compliments when I wear it.
