Hi Amy. I’m new to both this site and knitting in general. I’ve joined this site basically so that I can ask a question that I am totally confused about but can’t work out how or who to ask. Do I ask you.

Hi and welocme!
We love to answer questions here. Post in one of the forums, How to or General Knitting for example. Someone will try to help. (The name and designer of your pattern are a big help too.) We’re happy to have you join us.

Welcome Lynn56!
What country are you in? Are there thrift shops nearby? They are often good sources for inexpensive but good quality yarn. There’s also a Ravelry group that may be able to help.

Hello,
My name is Debbie and I am new to this site. I have a question on a pattern. Do I ask my question here or go to another location ?
Hi and welcome!
We’re always glad to have knitters join us and welcome questions of any sort. You could post the question in How-to or General Knitting. We’ll see it in either case. Thanks for joining.
Hi I am new here and I wonder if I may ask a question?
Welcome to KH!
We’d be delighted to have you ask and we hope to answer. Please post in How-to or General Knitting. We’ll be sure to see the query there. Thanks for joining!
Im so sorry for your loss, Jason. Needlework is great therapy. I hope you are able to go out & socialize again too.
Hello, I started knitting about 16 years ago and each evening am found in my armchair happily knitting away while watching TV. I favour easy sock knitting when travelling but do enjoy learning new techniques too and am blown away by some of the wonderful pattern designers we are blessed with. I do prefer good quality hand dyed natural yarns as they feel better to knit with and refuse to feel guilty about this extravagance! I am looking forward to getting to know this community and am hoping that I will benefit from the knowledge and capability of more experienced knitters. Thank you for accepting me into the fold
Welcome to KnittingHelp!
Wonderful to have another sock knitter join us (in addition to other projects). Glad that you too get so much pleasure out of knitting.
I like that sweater pattern. Can you tell us where you found it and the name or pattern number?
Well, it would be better to share that in another thread.
Another member is looking for a men’s sweater or T-shirt pattern here.
Have posted where you wrote ‘here’.
I can share the pattern if you would like it?
Hello. My name is Amy and I’m just getting back into knitting, which I have known how to do for years. I am surprising myself with what I am attempting and managing but do find myself with lots of questions that would be so easy to answer if I had a good knitter next to me.
My Granny was the most incredible knitter and I feel close to her when I knit.
I am really, really enjoying knitting again and I am currently knitting the Tin Can Knits Barley hat, which is going well (famous last words…)
I’m hoping to learn to knit jumpers, socks and things like that in time.
Look forward to getting to know you all

It’s amazing how comfortable knitting can feel after having been away from it for an extended period of time. It’s a wonderful connection to family.
Thank you for joining the forum. We’re happy to have you with us.
Hi
I’m new to this group, didn’t even know it existed. I have always knitted, but occasionally I have a query and I don’t know any other knitters to ask. My local wool shop closed some while ago, where I may have sought help, and so this group maybe just what I need.
I am currently in need of help with a Rowan pattern, the neckband. I am sure this is a simple instruction, but not something I cannot remember coming across. This is a v neck and I have picked up and knitted all the required stitches, the centre of the v has a marker, the instruction reads “K1, P1 to within 3 sets of marker, K1, P2tog tbl, slip marker, P2 tog, P1 K1 to end”, its the slip marker that I don’t understand. Does this mean just slip this stitch and not knit it? Move the marker but to which side? This must be a common thing with V necks, what am I missing?
best wishes
Lynn
Welcome to KH!
Unfortunately, a closed yarn shop is all too common. However, we’re glad that you found us.
The marker seems to be between sts rather than on a center stitch. In that case you would move the marker from the left needle to the right and continue with the directions to P2tog etc. What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Thank you for joining the forum.
Hello
Thank you for your speedy reply. The pattern is a Rowan, felted tweed, Gianna.
