i have never triedMalabrigo yarn since it was out of my price range. I have heard a lot of people that try it say they like i. I think you will like the Swish worsted You can get in Superwash or non superwash. It is so soft and I really love kniting with it.
New to group and so appreciate this site! My name is Gisela, fairly new knitter and struggling on how to fix mistakes. Anyone that has suggestions?
Welcome to the forum and to knitting!
Fixing mistakes is such an important part of knitting, I’m sure you’ll have lots of suggetions. Since this is an introductory thread, why don’t you post a new topic on the forum. It’ll get more attention that way. Post in How to or General Knitting.
Thanks for joining us.

Hello! I’m KimberKat and very new at knitting. I know how to crochet a little, however when my husband was in the hospital, I thought I’d borrow a round loom from a friend and try knitting beanies… it’s very addicting and I love it! Another hobby to add to my many others: jewelry making, chainmaille, mosaics and anything else I can get ahold of… I’ve learned some things just looking around on this site and love listening to all the others on here… keep on Knitting and loving it!
Hi my name is Linda and I’ve been knitting since I was a child. My stepmother taught me, and I’m so thankful that she did. Knitting calms me; when the world seems so crazy it’s my peaceful place. I belong to a small knitting group that meets weekly at our local library. I also enjoy cross stitch and almost all other types of needle work but you’ll find me at a sewing machine.
My other passion is gardening….indoors and outdoors. I love seed germination and help to grow food for our community.
Welcome KimberKat and Linda217!

Hi everyone, finally decided to create an account here so I could post and ask questions!
So many times I would google knitting questions and this forum would show up.
I’m pretty new to knitting, mom taught me about 5 years ago, she passed away in 2021. She showed me the basics, I really wanted to learn how to make her slippers. And I thought I had her pattern written down, but as I tried to make them they look nothing like hers lol
When my phone is charged, I’ll make a new post with pictures and my question, I think I have it figured out, but want to be sure before I buy another set of needles. I do believe at this point all I need is a bigger set of needles because I can’t seem to knit as loose as my mom.
Welcome to KH!
It’s such a wonderful part of the knitting tradition to have been taught by your mother. That’s a good tradition to be part of.
Everyone has his or her own comfortable knitting tension. Adjusting with needle size is the way to get to the pattern tension or the tension you want. We’ll be happy to help with the slippers or anything else. Thanks for joining us.
I am so sorry your mom passed. Min passed on New Year’s Eve 2003. We lost our two miniature long hair dachunds , Sugarfoot in May and Gunner’s Coal in Dec. 2023. Sugarfoot was a piebald dapple and Gunner was a black and tan. We miss them both very much.
Hello, I just found this site and am excited to know about it! I’m an avid knitter but find that some of the patterns I purchase can be perplexing in their instructions.
Looking forward to getting support and possibly giving it.
Happy knitting everyone!
Carol
Greetings! I’m new to this site and am excited to dig in!
Knitting, sewing, and silversmithing are my main creative outlets. I’ve been knitting for 28 years and created many projects, including scarves, pullovers, sweaters, color work, cables, and lace. I’ve also been playing around with crochet lately and hope to keep expanding on that skill.
I look forward to interacting on this site, learning, sharing, and creating!
