Thanks Lisa! Nice to see your pretty name there… I’ve got to do some work on my signature, it’s so BLAH. Yes, I love working on this skirt, esp with the Addis. Nice yarn, nice needles makes for a nice experience!
(now my sweater is a whole other story) Finishing I’m not good at.
Think I’m going to look around for a class.
Hi there! :waving: I decided to do exactly like you did and take a look at your blog! :teehee: My blog is far less popular than yours, but since my plan was to use it more to put notes and pictures of my projects, it doesn’t bother me too much. Of course I’m very happy when people come by and say hi! :cheering: I just hope I won’t bore people too much…
There seems to be quite a number of “francophiles” around. It’s great! And I’m actually pretty surprised I would never have thought! Don’t feel too shy about your French, I KNOW I make mistakes when I write in English  but as they say, practice makes perfect, right? :teehee: You would think after writing a 200 pages thesis in English, I would’ve had enough practice… but it seems I still have a lot to learn! :wall:
I’m very glad you liked Montreal and Quebec city (Quebec city is beautiful in Winter isn’t it?). My boyfriend and I would like to do the same trip in the “other” way, I saw you’re in Manhattan? I’ve never been to NY, believe it or not. I’ve travelled in South America and Europe, but not much in my own “backyard” it seems :teehee: We’re planning to go within a year or so, but for now my “future” is very uncertain with my thesis finishing and my quest for a job. We’ll see!
I really hope things will get better with your health
back problems in general take a long time. My mom is starting to get back problems too, in her case it’s osteoporosis and arthrosis. :pout: She’s on Fosamax to try to stop the process, but it can cause other problems. Obviously she doesn’t have much choice as she’s only 58 and already having a lot of pain. :pout: Sometimes she can hardly walk…
I promise I will try knitting in public, and I’ll see how it goes. It’s stupid, I don’t quite understand why I’m shy about it. I guess I fear people will look at me and I hate being the focus of attention, but really why would I care? It’s not like I’m doing anything wrong! :teehee:
Oops, I guess I’m being a little long :teehee: I’ll see you around Victoise!
Hey Vic–I meant to ask you – did the steroids make you get very very evil?? :teehee: I really got very very stressed out, and my dh wondered what was going on since I’m usually quiet and relatively nice!! I was very “snappy” , he said, and I did think I was very nervous!! But they made my shoulder feel BETTER almost immediately…it’s just that you can’t stay on them long because they’re not good for your body OR your mind!! :wall:
I pm’d you ahile back–have you checked??
That’s funny you should ask just now! Last night I called him a peabrain over nothing (he went to bed a little miffed). Well, I’ve had these crazy moods during this meno meno meno thing but I try to not be evil! :eyebrow:
I didn’t feel any difference with the steroids until the 5th day and I only took them 6 days. But I went to the doctor yesterday, walked the um about 4 or 5 blocks and burst out crying when I entered the doctor’s office. Emotional release I guess. The walk was very very hard coz it’s so cold and the cold makes my back seize up. She gave me a shot that’s an anesthetic but I feel better having talked to her. I’m going over to private message land: I did read your message and just couldnt be on the computer and answer…
Oh, I turned my new incredibly sweet young woman of a doctor onto this forum! She said she only crochets because it’s faster so we had a talk about that! :teehee:
I hope things are better!! Steriods can be so evil!

Thanks so much for posting Lisa!
Geez, I went out for groceries today for the first time in WEEKS. It was like magic, I spent over and hour looking at peppers and cheeses and spent $137. ha Good olive oil and goat cheese…
I’m off those steroids, that was last week and they are helping. But man they are evil that’s for sure. I did get mean (short tempered sounds much better) a bit and that’s not good.
And, I got a $100 gift card for Valentines Day sitting here for the new yarn shop around the corner Knitty City and haven’t even been able to go over there!!!
:gah:
but at least I can knit!!!! :cheering:
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
I’m glad you are off the steriods! And that you can knit! AND AND AND you have 100 dollars to spend at the yarn store - now that is something to look forward to doing~
Victoria–hope your back is a little better now!! I’ve sent something that I hope makes you fel a little better! (no!!!not morphine!!not vicodin!!NOT STEROIDS!!!) :teehee:
Gee–I forgot to ask if u LIKE cats…uhoh. Hope I put enough stams on the envelope, Vic!! Feel better!
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
Oh my god! I’m SO EXCITED! I’ve just been so drained lately and recuperating too slowly but aside from that!
Trudy! YOU ARE WONDERFUL. I don’t get a lot of gifts and I can tell you I will treasure these more than you know! And… my life is CATS. I have always had two cats replacing them as they go up to cat heaven…
so yes I adore cats. And I’m going to adore your markers I just know it.
Oh, I feel much better.
You’re super.

Awww–Honey, I feel better when I’m doing something for someone!! A lot of the time, I’m sitting here feeling sorry for myself, and I should be DOING SOMETHING besides wondering why my life seems to be so …uh–you know–right now!! It is getting better slowly and I hope yours is too. I’m like a lot of us, I’d like to be actually making money doing something I really like doing!! But, I’m a sloth.
I’m so sorry you relapsed when you walked so far, Honey! It must be nice living in NY, but I don’t know if I could–I’ve always been a smalltown girl, and I wouldn’t know how to act in “da big city!”
I hope they get there soon and at all!! I just put them in a card and stuck a bunch of stamps on there and taped it!! So–we’ll see!!
Ok so I already posted this elsewhere but just for the record in my blog:
THEY ARRIVED!!!!
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
Like that old song goes “What a difference a day makes…”
AND a gift! Trudy, you are the best. I love my new markers, I never ever had any except those little white rubber ones. Now I feel like a pro.
And I think you would do just fine in da big city. You just concentrate on the food and eat your way through the place.
Here’s my new gift that I

Those are adorable!!!
Trudy is a wonderful person! And talented!
I hope you are feeling better!
Glad you liked them, Victoria!! I hope they made you feel better soomehow–even if not in your back!!
Lisa–thanks so much for the kind words!! You’re so sweet–I’d love to meet all of you someday, but I guess that won’t happen!! Still–I feel you’re all my friends, and it means so much to have youall!
Happy Easter and spring everybody!
Thought I’d post some happy pix to go with the holiday.
Esp since I haven’t been keeping up this blog! I am so happy I’ve learned to seam, my first cardigan is almost done. Still working on the skirt out of alpaca (the one that has 660 stitches around the bottom) which I’m pretty sure will turn into a poncho coz I would look ridiculous in it…
and I’m looking for a great backpack pattern, felted I think (Knitpicks has a nice one actually but you have to buy the yarn therej). Or maybe I should make a cotton one for summer instead… (ANYBODY MADE A BACKPACK?)
Anyhoo, here are my wonderful pictures from the Bronx Zoo where we went last Friday when it was almost 70 degrees out and now today a week later it is in the low 40s and freezing.
(hope it’s ok to post several pictures?)
Have a happy Easter!
Vic, your “strange furry guy” is a red panda. :teehee:
Lovelovelove the polar bear. I want one! Can I have one? I’ll take it for walks everyevery day, I promise! Pleasepleaseplease!
Anree! Thanks, I didn’t know what he was but he looks a little mean actually.
Just came back to say it’s not low 40s it’s only 36 out, ridiculous.
And YES! I am so in love with that polar bear, I want to go visit him everyday. You should see his feet when he flips over in the water, everyone was yelling LOOK AT HIS FEET they are so enormous! I read the Eskimos called them Nanook and believed they had magical powers. !
:verysad::verysad:
So. Like. What’s up with that? Um, is that supposed to be what Sheldon meant to do, get the pictures off, so you have to click on them… or something like that to save disc space?
I miss my pictures! ha
hmmmmmmmm
Do I have to edit them or something?
Sheldon says that the images are going to take a while, but I betcha it’ll happen soon!
[B]THANKS MUCH ARANCEE! Yup, they’re all back. Not quite as big.
Now… I need to do some blogging. hmmmmm
