I think it would make it CUTE. I like lopsided toys.
Nice plan!
Beautiful! And you are a FAST knitter!

Very cute !! They are so sweet
I love knitting toys! I prefer Jean Greenhowe’s patterns, but am open to any that I see that I fall in love with…
I’ve got a few projects on the go right now, but I’m always up for a new knitted toy… (looks through the Jean stash to decide…)
mmmm… ok. I’ll join. I have one of her older books…“knitted toys” published in '86.
Mama’s and babes. pg. 58-61.
I think I’ll do the hedgehogs. :teehee: because they are soo, soo cute…
Here is a shot of the page from the book. I’ll update my progress as I progress. :knitting:
Here is the finished Fairy . She is stands at 14 inches .
Thanks to Nobones for her help with this project
Mine isn’t going to look like that
Nice to see a back view too, it’s bigger than I thought already glad I’m using the DK not the worsted hubby wanted me to use.
Ellie , I think if you had gone with worsted your fairy would have been about 20in .
I am sure yours will look just as nice .
Thanks
Thanks for joining!
And you’re right. Those hedgehogs are adorable!
Beautiful Fairy!
Finished… Now no-one laugh it’s my first proper toy! I should have chosen something a bit simpler but it’s done now.
Alan Dart’s Tooth Fairy, (well sort of I gave her a make over :teehee:)
Wuh-who I just completed my second KAL!
I love her !!! Congratulations Ellie , She is sooooo yoooouuuuuu
She is lovely and you went in at the deep end with this one as she is so fiddly to put together . You will be able to do all the easy ones now :happydance:
I love her basque , she is so unique , Well done hun:)
I like your fairy a lot! Great work doing your first toy.
Nobones - I just love your fairy. Would never have thought to do it like that, Brilliant.
I did buy the mag just for this pattern, haven’t had the time to look at it properly. Does it tell you how to get the neck to stand up like that.
you have both done a great job on your fairys.
BTW could we have a photo of her back nobones? did you use a novelty yarn for her wings?
Thanks everyone I’m so pleased you like her.
Karina (gorgeous name!) I did use novelty yarn, a black eyelash with black 4ply. It gives it that furry look. It ended up a bit bulky with the wings padded like Rita’s so I just used 2 of the smaller ones.
The neck is a straw, but I put put cotton buds in mine as well to make it a bit more ridged. Thank goodness for Rita doing this at the same time, I’d have been in a big old mess if it wasn’t for her!
Back view.
Magnificent! You ladies ROCK! :notworthy:
Awww Thanks Ellie , it was my pleasure . I am so glad you made her . She looks very hip and cool
Both of those fairy’s are fantastic!!! I can’t wait to find that magazine up here in Canada… (I’ve been told it usually takes a couple months!!! not sure why, but I’ll keep my eyes open)
Ok, I’m done the baby hedgehog. And I started working on mama at the pool today. :woohoo:
Mama & Baby Hedgehogs done on US #1 needles using Bernat Satin.
Love the fairy and those hedgehogs are adorable!
Cute Hedgehogs!
So far, England and Canada have been very well represented in our knit-along. Where are the Americans? Come on, US knitters!
Awww so cute . They are adorable little hedgehogs:)
