Show off your dyed yarns!

This is worsted weight yarn, it’s one of the first skeins I dyed. I used kool-aid. i’m saling it,which makes me a little sad but I really need a ball winder.

I have a few skein of lace weight yarn that is drying now and I’ll pictures once they are dry.

I love those colors

These some of my new yarns that I have dyed. I didn’t want to post pictures, since I have so many.

Rory - Those are gorgeous!!

Why did I click on this thread??? Argh! I’ve got to try this!

Now I wonder if I bought the Natural (#63) colorway of mmmmMalabrigo–would I be able to dye that? Might just have to test that out. :yay::yay:

Oh my gosh! The most recently dyed yarns are beautiful. I adore “The Roof is on Fire” and the “Ocean” lace yarn but I TOTALLY DIG the Strawberries in the Morning. I LOVE that color combo!! What did you use to dye the yarn?

I used brown icing dye and cherry koolaid for the red. :happydance:
Thanks!

I just had to share - after seeing so many of your beautiful hand-dyed, I had to try my own. I used kool-aid, and I had so much fun! My 3 1/2 dd was even able to help with the handpainted one!

I wanted variations in the solid one, so was afraid to mix it around too much, and it’s a little too drastic in some spots, but I’ll know for next time

threesmom- those are so beautiful! i really love the 2nd one WOW

Thanks so much, Jeanie - yours are always so impressive!

I think i have yet another yarny addiction, though …:oo:

I’ve been dyeing some yarn again. It’s cascade fixations and I dyed it with procion:

This one will be combined with black:

And these 2 balls are self-striping:

That top ball is so much fun and mixing it with black is going to make it really pop! beautiful yarns

I dyed up a few skeins for the Peapod Baby set. I used Jacquard acid dyes. I used 2 colors but they ended up so similar that the yarn just looks a little tonal when knit up. It’s really pretty. This is just one of the skeins, photographed twice, from different angles. I should have taken a picture while it was skeined but I forgot.
I call it Sapphire Sky, and if I ever decide to dye for money, my company will be called Holey Sheep! Designs

I was just in the kitchen making up a new pitcher of lemonade, and I’m so conditioned to think of kool-aid for dyeing, now, that I had to start by adding just a quarter cup of water first, then another quarter, just to see how nice a yellow it would make ! :roflhard:

OMG. there’s so much inspiration on this thread!
I’ve just started learning how to spin and dye and am working on a sweater that uses “Fire & Ice” inspired colors.
Here’s a summary of my dyeing journey.

Here’s a bunch of other nature inspired yarns I’ve dyed and spun. They’re way at the bottom of the entry.

Thanks!

you yarns and wool are so beautiful! that’s the sort of experience i am aiming for  the fire and ice sweater is so gorgeous. i can’t wait to see it finished

Momto:

I dunno if it’s just me but, I swear I can see the quality of the yarn absolutely radiate throught that gorgeous blending of color.

If you were to dye for dollars, I’d be all over that sapphire!!

Fabulous job! :yay:

pretty, pretty yarns!

i love dyeing yarns and am a total addict. i’ve been dyeing cashmere this week, but haven’t taken pictures yet, so here is some merino and blue faced leicester from last week.
