I’m still debating if I should add sleeves or leave it sleeveless and wear it over a long sleeve t-shirt.
Obviously Collared is how it looks now, the uncollared picture was a wip kind of picture.

I vote for the long sleeve shirt with the vest with the shawl collar. I like the look of it with the collar.
I vote for adding sleeves. It looks top-heavy without.
That’s my 2 cents worth

That’s a beautiful sweater! I love the color and yarn! If it’s cold where you live it might be nice to have sleeves, but it also looks good as a vest.
ETA: You can add the photos instead of links.
JudyD nailed it…it looks top-heavy without the sleeves.
If you were going to leave it as is…as a vest…another type of neckline edge would be best…such as a 2x2 ribbing.
As it is now…it does look like the sleeves are missing. The armhole shaping was designed for sleeves to be attached.
But all in all…it is a wonderful looking garment! You really chose THE PERFECT YARN for this project! Lookin’ good!
Wow, what a goregous sweater, and a great fit! I vote for the collar and sleeves.
Yep, I vote for putting some sleeves in the collared version. Looks nice and warm. Great job!
I started working on the sleeves. I think I agree with the general consensus here. It looks a little top heavy and I agree that the shoulders/arm holes were designed for sleeves. I still think I’m gonna wear it out as is until I get those sleeves attached though. I’m just in love with this style of collar.
And yes Jan, its freakin freezing where I live right now. Literally. It’s actually 21 degrees outside right now.
I also vote for the collar and sleeves. Your shawl collar looks great!
Looks fantastic! I love the yarn and the collar!
Love that both ways, but the collar is really awesome!
I am loving the collar and the color is great. The fit looks perfect on you too.
I love the shawl collar too… but if you are like my hubby… sleeves will stop you from wearing it. He is a hot person and the only thing I’ve ever knit him and had him wear was a vest.
The arms look a bit bare tho’… how about finishing them off with a bit of ribbing?
Or sleeves…

I vote for the collar and the sleeves. Great color.
Well by now you have your answer but I just have to say, your work is beautiful. That sweater looks flawless. I was checking out some of your other work too.
I’m starting my first sweater here pretty soon. Inspiring!
It is beautiful! Make sure you update the photo when you add the sleeves.
I will, if i can ever get these sleeves done. I followed the pattern and was mad when I was done. I should have trusted my instincts when I read the pattern and thought there weren’t enough stitches to fit properly. Well, I was right. I knit up the whole sleeve, sewed my seam, put it on my arm and it of course didn’t fit. So now I’m going with my gut and my gauge and making it to my own specifications. I’m halfway through the sleeve the second time around.
Always follow your instincts. I learned the hard way that patterns aren’t always calculated accurately for size, especially on sleeve width at the top.
Perfect yarn for that pattern. When you finish this toasty warm sweater, make yourself a vest with the same great vest.
I guess I’m the only one so far who thinks it looks great on you as is…and if you wear it over a cotton shirt, that would be good too. If you don’t feel like knitting sleeves for it, why not start another sweater that has sleeves you like?
Sounds to me like you like it the way it is, and can wear it on warmer days as is…jmho.
I think I’m going to add sleeves to this one and I think I’m going to try another one out of cotton and not double strand it so that it will be lighter and still be a vest.
