“Rennagayle, are you ready for it to come to your house?”
Why, yes I am! :happydance:
Sandy, I only discovered this thread last week, but is there a blog with instructions on the preemie blankets the way there is with the Oddgball #2 (which I’m waiting on), or will the instructions be with the blanket when I receive it?
all the patterns and stitches Shandeh has on the first page… you can use your own pattern too. I hope to mail to you by Monday.
email me with the info I need… I’ve used aqua :):waving:
I’m so glad you’re ready! As Doodknitwit says, just go to the first page of this discussion, and you’ll see the instructions there. I haven’t made a blog for our preemie blankets yet.
Doodknitwit started this blanket as a favor to me, since I’m starting so many right now. I usually start a little journal with each blanket, so we can each write a few thoughts for the child to see when they receive it. You can do that if you want…it makes the blanket a bit more special.
You can use any design you want, just avoid yarn-overs. We don’t want tiny fingers getting caught in our blanket! Also, be sure to do 3 knit stitches at the beginning and end of each row.
Each knitter knits for 4 inches, then sends the blanket to the next knitter.
You guys are cracking me up. I used to be able to type on the computer or knit when I nursed him, but now he thinks that my computer is great to kick and knitting is one of his favorite toys… little stinker… oh how much I love him!
I do love nursing my babies too. I know I will miss it…
I just completed the beginning of the “Citrus Punch” blanket!
I used Baby Bee “Sweet Delights Baby” yarn in a bright orange color, called “Carrots! Oh No!” :teehee:
The design is “Windmills” - a free pattern on the internet. Can you see the windmills? You have to look at the triangles, and imagine a center post for 4 of them…then you’ll see it.
Oh, and did you notice the band-aid on my left index finger? I cut it a couple days ago when I was chopping onions.
I’ve finished my part of the sweetheart blanket and I am ready to send onto the next person. In keeping with the varigated yarn, I used a yarn with pink, white and lemon through it.
Pauline are you ready for it? I’ll post it out monday as I’m going to be too busy at the weekend.
Shandeh, do you need more knitters for the preemie blankets? iI just remembered several skeins of Dk and sport weight baby yarn I have in my stash-all pastel colors.
I have an opening on two blankets - “Racecar Alley” and “Angel Kisses”. Your pastel yarn would work well for the Angel Kisses, so I’ll put you on that list.
Just check to make sure that your yarn is 100% acrylic.
Hmmm… I didn’t know you could work with more than one color in a section, Shandeh. I was going to PM you about a question on the Race Car Alley Afghan, but you answered it thanks.
Katrina
I apologize for not posting sooner to let Doodleknitwit know, but I received the Angel Kisses blanket this week. I’m taking it and the Oddball no.2 blanket, which I also received this week, along with me to my knitting group tonight.
One of these days, I’ll take the time to learn how to post a picture on here. I do not learn new things easily, especially if they’re computer related.:wall: I don’t have a flicker or photobucket account, but I do use Picasa to house pictures for my blog. I need to find out if I can also use it for posting pictures here. :??
