:cheering: I’m glad you all had such a great time. I so wanted to be there! The yarn that you got looks wonderful, Ingrid. I drooled over some Debbie Bliss Cashmerino a few weeks ago at a shop I was in- I WILL knit with it someday!! ![]()
So will I, someday! :rofling:
Oh what fun, lucky for all of you! I may join in next time, I am only about 2 hours away myself.
Well… what are you using first from the treasure trove?? I would have a hard time deciding, maybe just pile it all around me and roll around until inspiration strikes. Knit on!
We’re definitely going to do it again come spring/summer. Please come!!
I don’t know what to use first. the large skeins of hand-dyed alpaca are beyond soft. I handed one to different family members, and the first reaction is Oooooooh in a higher pitched voice. I am determined to finish what I have on the needles first, though. Otherwise I’ll make myself insane. Meanwhile, I have been rolling around in it! :rofling: <—that’s me rolling and smiling!

You’re fondling it as you type, aren’t you?
No, but I did fondle in the car. ![]()

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:
We had so much fun!! I wish it could have been LONGER, it went so fast!
Okay, here are my pics below, and HERE is a video! of us being goofy and saying “hi to everyone!” (I’m afraid it’s huge, fast to watch but big to download, 27 mb, I hope it works for everyone, it’s not in my usual video format.)
We met at Fitzwilly’s restaurant. Poor Ingrid said she got a bit lost trying to find the place, and then had the not-uncommon experience of being yelled at by a self-righteous Northampton pedestrian (“I didn’t know it was a state law here to stop the car for pedestrians!”). But she arrived unscathed by the local wildlife , as did Lisa and Jeremy, and we had a wonderful lunch and knit session!
Ingrid took this one for me of the rest of us:

Here’s Jeremy

Here’s Lisa/sogrammatical and I

Here’s Ingrid (dawning a GORGEOUS sweater she made–recognize the pattern on it from her old avatar?). Ingrid and I compared techniques for weaving in yarn in the back of knitting. swoon (Ingrid’s my new soul mate.)

That’s all for my pictures. We had lots of fun drooling over yarn at Webs. Jeremy and Ingrid both purchased a great stash at Webs. Lisa and I, being spoiled locals who often shop at Webs, were more modest in our purchases, and mostly lived vicariously through Ingrid and Jeremy, enjoying all the goodies they got!!
That alpaca that Ingrid got was exquisite, we could hardly tear ourselves away from that rack, it was SOOOOO yummy.
Thanks Lisa and Ingrid and Jeremy, it was so awesome hanging out with you! :waving: We’re planning on meeting up again in Spring or Summer.
WOW WOW WOW, you guys did it up right! What a nice thing to do for the holidays! I want to go to WEBSSSSSSSSSS ! Maybe we can do this next summer when it’s warm and the drive won’t be so daunting for me.
Hey Ingrid! Isn’t that Cleckheaton yarn you got? It looks like it, the yarn I’m using to do my little blue socks. And yes, I bought my first alpaca yarn this year and it’s to die for, sooooooo soft and luscious. I can’t wait to get more.
Wonderful pix you guys, thanks!
I didn’t get Cleckheaton this time, but that’s what I used on my Fassett sweater and I love the feel of it!
For the summer jaunt, if you are in the city and want to take the train to Poughkeepsie, I’ll pick you up and we can go from there.
Great pics, Amy!!! ![]()
Thanks for the video–I wish it were longer! (It didn’t take that long to download it; 30 secs maybe?)
Oh, Ingrid, that sweater is absolutely lovely!
My head would explode if I had to follow an intricate pattern like that…I wanna grow up and knit just like you! :rofling:
The sweater was knit on stitch at a time, one row at a time, just like anything else! ![]()
:rofling: :rofling:
I know…I should just learn to isolate patterns line by line so that they don’t look so scary!
What a great time
. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to hang out. I hope next time we will. I also hope with the better weather we’ll get to see even more people. I was also glad to be able to thank Ingrid and Amy for all the help. It was great meeting everyone and they were even more fun in person than they are on line. I’m getting to the point where I’m going to have to start hiding my stash. I actually bought FOUR 2.2 lb cones of Shetland wool (13.99/lb) and 500 yds of bamboo yarn that was marked 40% off the usual $22 per skein price.
The Illinois knit-togethers are dangerous that way, too, Jeremy! Well, maybe not THAT dangerous!!
Mrs. Jeremy…please forgive your wonderful husband…he was under the influece of some of the BEST enablers I know!! :roflhard:
Unfortunately, he went BEFORE lunch and ALONE!! :roflhard:
Yup, I’m my own very best enabler. I did show some restraint since I did not have to rent a trailer to take my purchases home
Because you brought one with you, didn’t you? Always thinking ahead! ![]()
