Never leave home without my knitting

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon, Brenda! It’s nice that your FIL can help…he’s a doctor?

Get better girl!

I sure hope you’re feeling better today. Take it easy and enjoy the weekend if you can.

Hope you feell better soon

Thanks y’all! :muah:  Yes, FIL is a Dr. and came by to listen to my lungs last night on his way home from the office. He said that I have bronchitis, just like I thought. I’m feeling much better today and have even worked on Tyler’s Blanket. I wear out easily so I’m just taking it one hour at a time.

I’m missing my DD’s big youth fund raising event at church. They have an italian meal once a year that takes two nights to set up and then the big night. Which is tonight, they call it GELLUCHI’S! I just got a call from DD1 and she is having a panic attack. This is the DD with Asperger’s. I feel so bad because I’m not there in person for her. Luckily DH and DD2 are there but DH can’t run into the women’s rest room every time that she does. I’m am so blessed that we have a wonderful youth director who is understanding and is there for her too. All of the in-laws showed up and I guess that threw her into a tail spin. Poor thing! I’m glad that they came to support our girls and the youth group because they normally don’t have anything to do with church. I just wish that I could be there to give moral support and a big hug to DD. I know that they will be very tired once they arrive home and will probably want to camp out in my bedroom tonight. Even though they are 13 1/2 and almost 12 I love it when we camp out together, bond and create memories.

Don’t forget to take care of YOU, girl. :muah:
Get better.

When it rains, it pours! I’m over my bronchitis but today I passed some more kidney stones while at work. I drank 10 bottles of water and took some Tylenol rapid release to make it through work. Once I got home I passed out on the sofa. Which means that I didn’t get back to teach confirmation classes at church this evening. DH has an ankel that he had to pop back into place and is running a fever. We just can’t seem to catch a break at our house. I just keep praying that our girls stay healthy.

Earlier this week DH hit the mother load for me. He went to put in a bid for a job for an elderly lady at our church. She was cleaning out her sewing room and sent him home with 2 industrial size garbage bags full of yarn. :woot: After sorting colors and organizing we ended up with 4 13 gal. size bags of yarn. Of course one is full of bright orange. I guess that I’ll be knitting a lot of pumpkins :teehee: DH thinks that we won’t need to go yarn shopping for a long time :roflhard: That’s his opinion, not mine  There was also an old book of thread crochet in the bags. DD is very excited about that and can’t wait to try out some of the patterns. My plan is to get some plastic bins to put the yarn in and organize ALL of the yarn that we have accumulated. Then when I have a project to work on it will be easy to access.

I’m sorry you’re still having problems! I thought the kidney stones were gone.

Wow, I see some charity blankets in your future… Halloween ones! :roflhard:

Yay for yarn stash!

If it’s hunter orange, you can make some outdoor outfits.

It is hunter orange so I’ll be knitting hats for mittens for all of the hunters in the family. I will knit some pumpkins too :teehee: It was also suggested to me that I knit some shawls for the elderly in nursing homes with the orange. That way it’s bright and they can see it and say, “that’s my shawl!” I have other colors to add to it so that I don’t go blind from knitting everything in ORANGE!!! :roflhard: :roflhard: I also thought about letting DD crochet some blankets for Africa. Two of my students are leaving tomorrow to be missionaries with their parents. They are part of the Living Water group. I cried on Friday when I had to say good-bye to them. I will miss those two cuties sooooo much.

I’m feeling better but now DD has the same crud that I had last weekend. To top it all off DH has a flare up of gout that settled in his ankel. He hasn’t been able to work much and that has hit us hard in the bank account. I’ve been sending out my resume for full time teaching positions for next school year. I’m afraid of the economy and DH’s business making a go of it. I’ve been on my knee’s in  more than I can count.

Off to take the custard out of the oven and work on a baby blanket. I’m working on a pattern from one of Debbie Macomber’s books. It is turing out sooo cute.

DH and DD1 went to Galveston to work on the in laws beach house this weekend. DD2 and I stayed home because I have to work tomorrow. This will give me time to get caught up on some cleaning, laundry, home school, dishes, etc… Of course, I have to fit knitting in there too :teehee: Hope that everyone has a good weekend

Please keep my in your prayers and thoughts. I’m looking for a new job that has benefits. I’ve sent my resume and cover letter to 7 or 8 lutheran schools for teaching positions. This is the time of year that they start looking for the following school year. I had a preliminiary interview with one principal already and they have a 2nd grade position opening up. I would love :inlove: to teach 2nd grade and we really need the health insurance. We just don’t know how DH’s business will continue to go with the economy. He could do that part time and still home school our girls while I work full time. Anyway, my life is up in the air right now and I hate that feeling.

Yeah, that bites. I hope you find a position quickly! Crossed Fingers

Just remember no matter how organized your yarn is, the one you need will always be at the bottom at the back!

:roflhard: :roflhard: That’s why you go to the yarn store and buy more yarn instead of going through your stash.

Praying for a job!

Today I took Rachel to the Dr. Yesterday she was running a fever, throwing up and couldn’t swallow. Two days before she finished the antibiotics that FIL gave her and now she’s sick again! Poor thing :pout: has strep throat. I would have taken her to see grandpa at his office but when DH asked him about her last night he said that it was probably just the crud that is going around. I felt differently and decided to take her into someone else and get some answers. Now I’m in the dog house with MIL because I didn’t take her to see my FIL. :wall: Whatever!!! My child was sick and I needed to take care of her and get her some medicine. If they can’t understand that and accept it then they are the one’s with the problem. I’m so done trying to please them, my kids come first! At least now Rachel has some antibiotics and medicine for the nausea and throwing up. At least she can rest and maybe get some fluids down.

Time to go make dinner and maybe knit some more tonight on the baby blanket that I’m working on.

Oh boy. I’m sorry your MIL is being such a pita!! My daughter has strep and someone else in her office has it, too. I hope your daughter feels better soon.

Go Mama! :woohoo:

We had a rough night last night. The more antibiotic I gave to Rachel the more she threw up. :ick: The only one in the house that got a good nights sleep was Rebecca. We have come to the conclusion that Rachel is allergic to the med they gave her. So back to the Dr. we went today, this time to my FIL. DH insisted on it and I was too tired to argue anymore. They ran some blood work and did another strep test. It came back negative but that’s probably because she has some antibiotics in her system. She now has a new med that I have to go pick up in a little while. I sure hope that she feels better soon. By the way, DH was not happy with his father because he felt that he could have been a little more aggresive in the way he treated her symptoms. :figureditout: Gee, maybe now DH understands how I feel~frustrated!!!
