I love knitting with Araucania Limari yarn. It’s so soft and warm and size 13/15 needles

Oh, I do love your pretties. Beautiful work. Big shawls are the best.
You posted pics!
So pretty and warm looking! Good job!

I knitted this shawl for my cousins wife it took 5 hanks ,965 yds of
Araucania Panguipulli
She wanted hers longer then usually shawls
I hated having to give this one away
Ok, so now my daughters tells me 'Mom, I would love you to knit me something that is like a shawl so it covers my back but has a hood and long front with pockets ’ She has this kids hat that she wears ,I’m sure you’ve seen them it’s an Animals head with material that comes down over the ears and this material hangs down on both sides to the hips and in the ends are pockets to slip your hands into . Yeah, she thinks I can knit this up for her …no probs !?!
You got a great model for your shawl. I would have a hard time parting with that one, the shawl I mean. Make another and KEEP IT for yourself. There are patterns for those scarf/hood combinations. I’ve seen them called scoodies and other names. I made a scoodie, it was easy. You can do it, just don’t let on that it wasn’t too bad.
http://www.ravelry.com/projects/PurpleRainbow/ewok-scoodie---knit Mine took a little more than a ball of WoolEase Thick and Quick. There was enough yarn I could have made the scarf part wider and longer and maybe could have added the pockets.
I forgot that you made one , I found a link now all I have to do is figure out how to add a cape to the back
A cape too, huh? She thinks she’s a superhero? :teehee:
Maybe something along these lines?
Another to look at. I think you could just bind off the center and extend the fronts sections.
Why is looking for someone else more interesting? Because I don’t know what you want?. I can show you a hundred patterns and not one of them will be useful. lol
:woohoo: Wow GG, I think I can work with either one of the links you found !! Heck I might just make both of them for her . The second one I could , like you said just change it up and knit two long panels down the front so she could slip her hands into a pocket like paw . Thank you very very much !
I’m knitting a hooded scarf right now for my mail lady. I have this chunky yarn Hometown USA from LionBrand that will work great. All I’m doing is knitting the scarf long enough so I can then knit a panel deep enough to then seam onto the scarf and walaaa it’s a hoodie scarf :yay: I’m knitting it all in our X’s favorite stitch too
Garter ! because it won’t roll in on the sides then .
I used X’s favorite stitch on the hoodie thing I made for the same reason, and it meant I could knit mindlessly. :teehee: That’s best for me.
I think I like that cape thing with buttons on the sides. Maybe. I’ve looked at it a number of times. Maybe one day I’ll actually see if I have yarn to do it up.
Whatever you decide to do I look forward to pictures. My gloves haven’t been photographed yet. My daughter saw them, tried them on, liked them. I let her have them on the condition that I get some good pictures. I want them to look better than they really are. :roflhard: I better get a picture.l :gah:
She better send Pic’s !
I really like the Side Button Cape . I say go for it GG then you can let me know what you think of the pattern

I think I found a way to use up my Acrylic yarn stash :yay:

Yeah, I better get pictures. Crochet flowers are fun. I made pansies. My sister loved pansies and she liked the ones I gave her. The only real prob I have with the poncho with buttons is that it pulls over and I’m not crazy about pullovers messing up my lovely locks. :teehee: Usually I have my hair pulled back in a ponytail and pulling things over my head means I have to fix the blasted thing yet again to keep it from driving me nuttier.
I noticed that under my avatar it says I rock. :roflhard: I don’t know when that happened, maybe at post 2000. I post a lot. Too much maybe.
Well, you do rock GG :yay: I just read mine too, never noticed that before , does the site/board put that there  I don’t remember doing it.
