Update on fleece fan pouch …It works grrreat ! No dust falling down in my hair and face . Wish I was the good little house wife I use to be , when I was everyone’s personal maid and the house sparkled and I had no life of my own . Now I do and I don’t have enough time and it seems so less important nowadays . But my ceiling fan is clean:rofl:

But my ceiling fan is clean

:woohoo:
Those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end…thankfully they did.

ETA You used fleece, not flannel as in the link?

Alzheimer’s moment :whoosh:Just went back and check the link and dang if I didn’t get it wrong  Yes, I used fleece :waah: But here’s the kicker, the fleece worked super so… ‘winner winner chicken dinner’

So now do I go buy some Flannel and make another now. Hummm…I think this is a ride to GoodWill , buy me some old flannel shirts , cut the sleeves off sew the one end up and walaaa

:roflhard: Oh, my goodness. Fleece works, fleece is good, forget flannel. Any soft fabric would do it. You could :knitting: a tube and use it. No, don’t do that.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

:muah:

Funny you should say that, I made up five of them knowing once the girls saw them they would want one and hubby stuck the on the fan blades in the kitchen and turn the fan on at first they were stayin on . He laughed and said “you know what you need to knit ? fan blade cozies  then you’d never have to clean another fan blade and you could make them seasonal” Yeah, I know what your thinking and NO I’m not knitting fan blade cozies .

:roflhard:

Here’s my first attempt at Crocheting a dish towel for my hubby . Thanks to GG and her link and her suggestion on the edge ,I will be crocheting another one soon. I can’t get over how fast it went. I know this one looks a little wonky but it’s fine with the old man. He’s happy with it and wants more now. So hopefully I will improve at this Crochet thingy. I should have laid the towel on a flat surface and not a sofa cushion it’s giving the appearance of a wavey edge on the upper top edge mid section

:yay:

Looks good by me, but since the dude likes it, big deal.
For your learning piece it really does look good.

Thank GG, I couldn’t wait to show you. Can you see where I changed to your suggestion on the edge ? It’s about 12 rows in from the right side. You have to click on the photo to see it better

nicely done!

i’m in the process of attempting to think about possibly maybe learning basic single crochet to finish off a knit blanket. the boucle yarn i’m using is crapola for fringe, but i’d still like some kind of edge detail, so… we’ll see.

That would be a good starting place because it would be easier than starting crochet with just some yarn and a hook. You would be working into an existing edge and wouldn’t have to worry about chaining or learning the foundation crochet stitch. You could just do the sc from the start. Brialliant.

I see a difference, yes. I think I said I use fewer turning chains. Is that what you did? If it works for you, that’s the way to do it. You really have accomplished a lot here. I really look forward to seeing what’s next.

Yep I was doing 3 chains and then used your suggestion and finished doing 2 chains and it looked much better then ,see always learning . Now I can go to bed knowing I learn something today

Go for it, better ask GG if a sc edge is the way to go first though . I see that there are many stitches to use but I’m a newbie at this Crocheting .

I’ve never seen a video or anything else where someone suggests using fewer chains for turning. Someone else told me about it years ago and I tried it and liked it. Welcome to the ranks of happy hookers. I want to know what Mr. Nana says when you inform him of your induction.

:rofl:He said, " Tell GG, I love Happy Hookers " Men !

Good answer.
:yay:

I figgered he’d have a good comeback.

God blessed us with 22 degrees today. The Funeral for our local Fireman was today. News media from several stations were there along with Police and Fire Departments from all over the area. The street was lined with residents showing their respect. it was an Honor to Salute our fallen Fire Fighter.

I had just given up on teaching my oldest son to knit when he stopped by today for coffee and while we were chatting I asked him if he still had my crochet hook and knitting needles . He sheepishly said yes and asked if I needed them back right away. Seems he may still want to learn to knit. He was looking at the dish towel that I just Crocheted and he really liked it , and now wants me to show him how to crochet one for himself. I think he’ll do better picking up the idea of working with one needle . Plus like he said ,all he wants to learn is to make the dish cloths and towels because he’s used mine and likes how durable they are and how they pick up water , not just smear it around.
