I have to tack the ends up and then the S&M scarf is done.

Thank you . Did you post any pic’s of your scarf? Are you on Ravelry? If you are I am KEMER on there. I post my project on there . I like how I can keep track of everything .

No pics yet. I’ll post one here on KH if I remember to get it. Do you have hand pics I could see?

By the end of the scarf I was just starting to get the hang of working with Sashay. I still don’t think I want to do another.

speaking of sashay-as-s&m… just watched a video on how to work with paton’s pirouette… doesn’t look any fun either. i’m thinking 2 ruffle scarves, and then no more of it gets to come home with me…

.

I am working with a similar yarn but I can’t recall the name right now. I’m not really following a pattern. I don’t mind working with it. maybe it’s just because I’m making a simple scarf? Or maybe I just haven’t witnessed its full glory?

I’ll see if I can post some pic’s

:hair:I can resize my photos to post on this forum:hair: I can’t even find a resize on my laptop  I’m posting pic’s of my Gargoyle on my FB for now

I posted photos on my project page on Ravelry of my Gargoyle hands

My scarf was 8 stitches. Knit 8, turn, knit 8, turn… I finally at the very end was getting the hang of working with it but I still don’t like it. Some people love it, I’m glad because it does make pretty ruffly scarves.

On a brighter note, this morning I actually knitted English fairly comfortably and wonder of wonders I did some English style purl stitches. :woohoo:

Your hands handiwork looks good to me. When you do the next gargoyle you’ll know what to do!

Ohhhhh! You knit continental? That may be why you don’t like it. I casted on 4 stitches. I wonder what would happen if you did stockinette? Mmmm… I’ll try it.

Have fun! I don’t think it will make much difference but want to know now that you brought it up. Report back on the results, please.

Yes, I knit Continental and have been trying off and on for the whole time I’ve been knitting to do English. Why? I want to do two handed color work and because I want to conquer this challenge!

Y’now what happens? All the ruffles end up on one side of the scarf! So one side is ruffles and the other side is Stockinette. It looks sort of cool.

Yeah? Wow. Who’dathunkit? lol

I posted the FO in my blog thread.

That looks better than mine! In fact, that looks pretty good to me!

I’m not unhappy with how it turned out. I think one or both of my girls (DD&GD) will love it. All the time I was knitting it I kept thinking, ā€œIt’s knitting, Jim, but not as we know it.ā€ I think I saw a Tribbles pattern at one time, maybe I’ll go look for it. :eyes:

How do you normally finish the ends of those scarfs? I know the pattern that I have ( but I’m not following it) says to sew the ends into the scarf but I was wondering if there was a different way. I don’t mind sewing but it just isn’t my favorite hobby.

I folded them up and sewed them down so that they don’t show. If it turns out they do show then the recipient can figure out how to do it better. On this one I used crochet cotton for tacking things down, the other one got some thin matching yarn. I did try folding the ends and knitting them together with the regular stitch but it didn’t work for me, I think someone with more nimble fingers could manage it.

I have a hood/neck warmer that just needs buttons sewn on. It waits oh so patiently for me to sew the buttons on and why I put it off I don’t know.

I could make an infinity scarf/moebius/cowl thing. Think I’ll call it a scowl. :teehee:

I need to knit up something that I don’t need to follow the pattern after the Gargoyle is done. Sometimes you just need to do that. I have the pattern for an Entrelac scarf just have to work up the courage to start it.

I made a cowl last year using Araucania Limar , I just love it and I made is so I could pull it up and over my head for those snowy blustery days. I Love just about all of Araucania 's yarns . I just bought some called Aysen to knit a basic sweater with. It’s just so soft and warm.

As for the ends , I just use a chibby and weave it back through the ws of my projects ,it blends right in.
