Lacevember Anyone?!

Hey Guys!
There’s a very cool knit a long coming up in November, ahem, I mean Lacevember! You can read the details here! Sounds like it’s going to be a blast…I’m in :cheering: :cheering:

 This got me thinking…I wonder if Hilde has lace in mind for Nov, too :teehee:

thanks for the info rebecca!! I just clicked the join link!

You know I was considering joining this as well. I am needing to pick Kiri back up. I am just not sure with the sweater and two scarves for christmas that I am working on. I must think on it.

I’m in! And really excited about it. :cheering:

I am in if I can finish the lace project I am already working on. Doing one of the Elizabeth scarves from KnitPicks.

Me too! I’m doing Glorianna, but since I’ve barely started, I figured I’d just make that my Lacevember project because I won’t be able to get to it 'til next month anyway.

Which one are you doing?

:cheering: :cheering: I’m happy ya’ll are joining! I think this is going to be such fun!
I think that I will probably begin with “A Touch of Whimsy” scarf for me in the same Molly colorway that I did the hat, then the fingerless gloves (or vice versa). And, if I still have time I’ll start on one of the shawls…probably :cheering: :cheering:

I’m in!

I have my eye on a few shawls, I’ll have to think about this one…

I think I am doing Dainty Bess. The one on the pattern that is Varigated Green color. I have one repeat done.

I think I joined, but I haven’t gotten a response yet. :?? This sounds like it could be fun, something different from my usual sock knitting. I plan to make my Mom a shawl for Christmas.

i joined as well! I’m making this. :eyebrow:

My little sister is getting married in January, and as her proud matron of honor, I’m in charge of securing the garter and “something blue.”

This’ll take care of both!

I joined.

I’ve never tried lace knitting before so I’m thinking of trying some sort of easy; not sure what – branching out, maybe?

Good thing they don’t mind crochet! I know I can do that if I bugger up my knitting.

I once saw a shawl that looked like peacock feathers… but I don’t remember where I saw it. Anyone know this pattern?

Laura

Laura, I think you mean this one, right?

I’m loving this! I love reading about what everyone is going to knit! LOL, the garter is a great idea!

I can’t wait to see everything :cheering:

I’ve already started this shawl:

https://www.alpacanation.com/alpaca-products/03_view_product.asp?name=103724

but I’m not sure I like the way it’s turning out with the laceweight yarn and I may frog and do it with a fingering weight. I can’t decide. I’m only about 30 rows in, and it starts at the bottom, so it’s not a big deal.

I love lace! Both projects I’m knitting now (VK Holiday #2 and #3) are in lace, one in lace weight yarn, and one in chunky. Lace made in chunky yarn can be pretty, too!

Oooh, that’s cool! My husband loooooves dragons. If he wore shawls, he’d ask me to make that for him for sure! :teehee:

Joking aside, I really like that!

I love, love that dragon shawl, too, how cool!

Knit-Errant, you could use the dragon design in an afghan for your hubby! I think Branching Out would be good, too! I think that it was my 1st lace project, too. I didn’t use lace wt yarn, I think I used KnitPicks Merino Style and it looked very nice. That scarf is just gorgeous!

Momma Jo, #1 and #2 are stunning! I’m totally in love with #4! I am going to have to have that capelet, don’t know why, don’t know where I would ever wear it, but I’m going to have to have it!! For those of you who don’t yet have Holiday Vogue, you can see some of the patterns here, under Grace Notes, #2 that Momma Jo is referring to is the 1st one and the cape is the 2nd one (duhhh, LOL!)

I absolutely love dragons and I have got to make that!!! I’m going to email the designer and order a pattern ASAP- well, tomorrow, since it’s payday. There’s a Yahoo group KAL for it-- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dragoneKAL/

C’mon-- look at my signature DRAGONWINGarts?? I must have one!

And yes- that was the peacock feather pattern I was hunting for… but now I may need to change my plans…
Laura

Me too, Rebecca. Good idea! Just started my second Swallowtail Shawl from Interweave Knits. But I’m wantin to make the Peacock Feathers one too or the Mermaid shawl.
