Hi Joel,
Aren’t internet friends fun?
In the “small world” department, I live in Troy, MI, just right next door to Sterling Heights.
Congrats on the weight gain. :cheering: :cheering:
I’ve heard that it’s even harder to gain weight if that’s what you’re trying to do , than to lose it. (unfortunately, you couldn’t tell that by looking at me.) Rorshack mentioned that his son was having problems with “Failure to Thrive” issues. My youngest daughter - who is now 16 and just right weightwise - was hospitalized for about a week when she was 4 - 5 months old for the same thing. Everything worked out.
I like your 100 things about me, and I’m another person who HATES that stupid paperclip!
Mary
Yep… I’m familiar with Troy… used to work out there in a variety of jobs.
For me it is way harder to gain weight. For a while there, I was heavier than I am currently (by like 15-20 pounds) but between stress and other things, I lost close to 30 pounds and I was already skinny as is. So, I’ve been fighting to gain that weight back (and more). But I’m not willing to just gain it around my tummy… yes, even us skinny guys can have spare tires.
Plus with me having a desk job for the last 10 years, I’ve lost strength and endurance in additon to the weight. So, I’ve started working out and eating better than I have in a while. My final goal is to reach 185-190 pounds.
That damn paperclip is about the first thing to go when i get on a new computer… lol
Everyone chime in here, please. Joel needs to the doctor, but says he’s not gonna. Ladies (and gents) am I right in saying we all love him and DEMAND that he goes to the doctor?!?
Hehe, Denise, I like Joel well enough to keep out of it. unless he is completely incompacitated, just gonna keep my gob shut.
I don’t have the paperclip… mine is a kitty!
Hey Everyone…
So tonight is Wednesday. It’s been a somewhat slow knitting week thus far. I am actually torn between going to the Rec Center and going to my knitting group. It’s not been a bad week overall. I’m looking forward to my kids coming home on Friday afternoon. Plus, as of today, I have another interview scheduled for Friday morning (contract position) at a company where I used to work, that would pay more and be about 20 miles closer to home.
In other news: My father is home from the hospital, which is good. They put a filter in him to hopefully keep any future blood clots from reaching his lungs and heart. But it looks like he may have a kidney stone or something, so he’s going back to the doctor to see what’s up. They’ve also told him that the blood issue that put him in the hospital can be passed genetically… so at some point, it’s been highly recommended that my kids and I need to go to our doctor and test to see if we have this genetic thing going on too. I should be going to the doctor for a couple of other things as well, which why Denise posted about me needing to go the doctor. I’m not adverse to doctors… just very lousy about going. I have to kind of laugh as Denise is now DW3 (designated wife #3) lol. No, we’re not into polygomy, it’s an inside joke that I’m not going to take time to explain right now.
Well… that’s all for now. I’ll post more when I have some more time.
Well then, Ill try to be UF1 (Understanding Friend 1) because Im right there with ya…I am VERY bad about going to the doc, because Im SICK of going to the doc! I have a couple of ongoing issues myself, and Im just TIRED of it. I KNOW I need to go…maybe you and I can motivate each other to make appointments? You know…be kinda like mutual AA sponsors?? :roflhard:
Im glad your dad’s gonna be alright…that;s scary!
