Jan's joined the 21'st Century!

The rugs are probably a throwback to when cats had to hide the fact that they’re sick–soft ground to soak it up, maybe?

My last cat used the great outdoors instead of a litter box–except when I hooked a floral patterned rug. I don’t know if it was the pattern or the extra soft spot, but she decided that it was her back-up bathroom. That and under the Christmas tree–that I could understand since her choice outside was under the pine trees. So much for the lovely scent of pine! :rofling:

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: Poor Ingrid!

Jan, if ours can’t make it out of the kitchen to barf, they do manage to make it to the wee rug in front of the sink.

That’s exactly what mine do!! I think on purpose…they’ll stand half on carpet and half on the wood floors, then delibrately (well, that’s how DH and I feel) yack on the carpet…we should buy stock in Spot Shot. We do keep their bowl out all the time, but I’m afraid if we just put it out for dinner, they won’t stop bothering me all day. Ursula will find me wherever I am (or whatever I’m doing, like when I’m sound asleep) and give me her most pathetic MEEEEEEEEEOOOOOWWW until I follow her to her empty bowl…

OMG…it is soooo dry here I’m flaking away and incredibly itchy!!! The humidity today was as low as 5% in some areas and nearly 90 degrees! We are having fires already and they say this may be a record breaking dry year. Ugh… Off to apply yet more lotion!

My skin has been horrible this week, but I think it’s more due to working with paper paper and more paper.

I’m so glad to hear that my little monkey cat isn’t the only yacking all the time. I switched her to a hairball formula, tried the hairball paste (which she absolutely hated), and now use hairball treats. She doesn’t yack quite as often. She also has a tendancy to gorge, so I’ve started giving her less food more often. I might have try the obstacle thing. Also exercising her has seemed to help a bit too. I also started using a “zoom groom” brush to help get some of her loose fur out. She’s a fairly short-haired cat, so you don’t think to brush her, but wow, she’s got a lot of loose fur!

oh I almost forgot - those flowers are gorgeous. I’m so lucky if I just don’t kill any of my plants

I know what you mean re flowers. I used to be quite good with plants, but somehow I’ve developed quite the black thumb…I’ve killed all but two of my houseplants!

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced humidity as low as 5%, Jan! Geez! When it’s 40% here, I get all itchy; I can’t imagine 5%. Keep that lotion on and steam yourself occasionally!

There only a few good things about the air being so dry; Clothes that must be air dryed dry very quickly! Also… the fire ants don’t like us here much. It’s also nice to to be all sticky and sweaty!

Dry again today…you can see the smoke blowing out over the ocean. Might make a nice sunset though.

Oooh, get some photos!! :inlove:

Ah well… wasn’t particularly spectacular tonite so we didn’t get photos. Believe me, I’ll have other chances. It’s going to be a BAD year for fires.

However, I DID get a new cell phone! Yippee! I can hear people now! :happydance: My old phone really sucked!

Almost done with another chemo hat. I’ll be starting on the KO tommorrow…although I have to admit I’m a little nervous. Socks! Plus I have to do more on the sweater or it will never get done!

I heard the fire dept. out there somewhere actually lost control of one of their control fires when the Santa Anas came in sooner than expected! Skeery!

Congrats on the new phone! :happydance:

As for socks–they’re really not hard at all. And you’ve knit some really lovely things, Jan, and seem pretty intuitive about knitting, so I’m sure you’ll be fine!

Socks are FUN! :happydance:

I can’t take it anymore… I am going to officially take myself (disqualify if you will) from the Knitting Olympics. I am NOT having fun and am beyond frustrated. I made one sock and have ripped the needles from the second one. It may be the pattern, or the yarn, or just me, but I need to let my blood pressure return to normal and do some mindless knitting on my sweater and a few other simple projects.

Aww jan :frowning:

I think I’m going to disqualify myself too… I have other things that need to be knitted that I have to get done. Starting another project is going to really set me back :?

Aw, hugs to you both!

Knitting should be something enjoyable, so yeah, if the projects are driving you nuts–or you’d just rather do something else–then do something else!

Lets be honest here, Jan. Did you fail the drug test? :rofling:

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Oh no…not performance enhancers! Knitroids!

OH MY GOD!!! :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Busted!! I had coffee… :roflhard:

Oh, Im sorry, Jan…but, to be honest, Ive seen other projects on which you’ve gotten frustrated, and they turned out LOVELY!

OH MY GOD!!! :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:
