Gorgeous pics!! :happydance:
If you like nature pics, I can get some of the dandelion nubs and half dead azaleas in my yard! (They’re planted in an awful spot and apparently were never fertilized properly.) Oh, I do have a lovely dogwood tree–it actually does look nice, esp. right now as it’s in full bloom!
I’d love to see dogwood blooms, but I have tons of azaleas blooming and enough dandelions thanks! :roflhard:
Jan,lovely flower pics. You do a wonderful job taking pictures
I have mud to take pictures of.I can hardly wait to start planting
The sweater looks adorable.
I go to the big city Friday and will look to see if I can find some ideas for cups.
Uh… no one around, nothing to reply to so I guess I should go knit. :roflhard: …off to fix the button holes on the Haiku Sweater… I don’t like the way they came out… :XX:
Just fooling around with digital manipulation. The originals are either on this page or back one.
Looks kinda like a watercolor I think…

Maybe looks painted?

Very cool!! The maple really does look hand painted. ![]()
You’re knitting kid stuff with no kid!!! huh?
I love those pix Jan… I love flowers and trees… just bought 3 pale pink calla lillies home for Easter. They were my mum’s favorite flower, they’re pretty amazing. I’d love to have that maple you have!
I got so caught up in my new sock I’ve been ignoring all my other bigger projects. They’re so addictive I KNow I Know everyone says that but they are. I like the little needles a lot. Can’t believe your dog destroyed your needle. Maybe you’ll have to stick to METAL! Ha.
Have a good Easter or Spring or both! (oops just remembered your in CA so you don’t really have spring I think?)
P.S. That digital pic would look so beautiful on a tee shirt wouldn’t it? Or bag or something… if it could be reproduced…
Thanks Ingrid and Vic!
Well we DO have spring, but for the most part spring sucks and it’s not something we look forward to. Some days are nice of course, but it’s often overcast. It even has a name… June Gloom. Look it up in Google.
I guess I knit the baby stuff because it’s small and you get quicker rewards for something new. I dunno. Not sure what I’ll do with the sweaters. I may donate them to The Sweater Project.
I just got the rest of my yarn for my socks! :cheering:
Jan, those are beautiful!
Yay, more yarn! :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:
OMG, Jan…those pics are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Both the originals AND the “manipulated” ones! Im especially fond of the Japanese maple watercolor… Well, that and the cymbidium, as that was one of my wedding flowers. Our rec room has b/w pics of trees all over, one of which I took myself in New Orleans! (below)
What kind of camera do you have???
Jan those pictures are beautiful! I’ve decided since I can’t afford an SLR right now (groceries and yarn are more important) that I’m just going to buy nice add ons for the camera I have now - which should be fun! I was hoping to go to a new park today with the pups to take some pictures outside but alas it is raining – perhaps this is Iowa’s version of June gloom!
Thanks!
That’s a cool tree picture!
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT which is a DSLR (digital SLR). It’s not a cheap camera, but it’s a lot of fun to learn how to use it.
:happydance:
That IS a beautiful shot of that tree! Think I’ll start taking more tree pix…
Jan!!! I love your pics … you always amaze me w/ your artistry. Truly, you should use them to open your own Cafe Press shop or something.
Would you mind if I printed out your manipulated photos to put up on my wall? I have this beautiful frame where you press picures in between two panes of glass. I’ve been looking for something to put it in, and I just love those two photos!
Oh thank you, Julie! I didn’t know I could open a Cafe press shop…have to look into it! Thanks for the info!

I wouldn’t mind at all and thank you for asking first! What size are your frames? These won’t print well at at a large size because they’ve been resized and now have less pixels. If you let me know the frame size I can make you bigger ones if necessary.
I’m glad you like them, thank you!
Thank you, Thank you!!! :notworthy:
I don’t need large ones … I could probably get by w/ each of them being somewhere in the neighborhood of 4x6. Will the ones here be OK for that?
I’m thinking I can put two prints in the frame kitty-corner of one another & then press some real flowers (or dried ones) in the empty spaces. I’ll post a picture if I should ever actually get it done!!
I also need to go get a new ink cartridge for my inkjet. We bought an all-in-one laser printer last year, and now I rarely use my inkjet. I printed some photos the other day and had to clean the heads about 10 times before I could get all jets to print equally. Ugh.
Well, tell you what. Here are links to the larger versions I already have in my gallery. (I post smaller here) Give the larger ones a try and if you feel they don’t look quite right I’ll see about bigger ones.
Japanese Maple
Rose
What kind of inket do you have? If it’s HP when you put in new ink cartridges it will also replace the print heads. If it’s Epson :shifty: then you have to do it yourself…I don’t know about other brands. I love my HP! Oh and if you use photo paper the images will print nicer.
Thanks, Jan!!! I’ll go save those off to my harddrive.
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 800-series … and it’s generally just the jets on the cartridges that get clogged, especially if it’s been sitting unused for a few weeks (months?) … now I’m just about out of black ink, though. So, I can’t really print anything and have it turn out right. I have heard that the HPs are better. Someday, if we ever feel the need to replace this printer, I’ll take a closer look @ the HPs. Right now we use our lasertjet for almost anything because we print lots of copies & stuff for school.
And, yes, I have some Kodak photo paper here that works really well. The prints come out really crisp and clear. I also have a couple of other types of printable medium here that I’m considering experimenting with. I have some iron-on cloth, and I think it might look cool to print those watercolor prints on that & fray the edges. I’ll have to see … I hardly ever use this stuff. So, I’m not opposed to experimenting with it.
Anyway, thank you once again! I can’t wait to give this a try!
Gaaaahhhh!! I had one of them and gave it away after a few months. It DID print nice photos, but the stupid printheads had to be cleaned all the time. It’s a waste of paper and ink IMO. A lot of people do like them though. The printheads are not in the ink cartridges with Epson, but they are in HP so there are a lot less problems. The new Epsons might be better, but I’m afraid to try again. I think the next printer we get will be an HP all in one with scanner and copier.
I know you are busy with your trip plans now, but let me know how it goes when you get around to printing. ![]()
