Anyhoo, I don’t listen to music too often but once in a while this is a really cool site, I’ve been listening to acoustical guitar tracks lately because I want to get a guitar and learn to play again. The acoustic stuff is really nice when you’re knitting… then I go into flamenco or African sometimes for a change. But not often, I too LOVE the sound of silence…

My sister goes by “Angie” but I like to call her “Phalange” 
According to this site, it seems as though I’ve been pronouncing it wrong since high school. I swear my biology teacher said it so it rhymed with “Angie” 
I’m just sad because there are NO songs about “Andrea”, not even parodies. :verysad:
Im 99.7% sure it DOES rhyme with Angie…it did in nursing school, anyway…

My embarrassing album purchases: first 8 tracks (bought with birthday money)… Sister Sledge, Muppet Disco, and Rick Springfield.
I still wish I had Muppet Disco. Cookie Monster singing “Me Lost Me Cookie At the Disco”…classic, man.
My mom also bought me “We Are the World” one year for my birthday, thinking she was being hip or whatever, trying to ‘connect’ with me. :shock: Frightening prospect… esp. since I was hoping for Duran Duran… The true horror: I’m not sure if I exorcised that album from my collection. It could still be there in storage somewhere.

I’m tired of waiting for the new YOTS to start so I’ve knitted a few rectangles for Warm Up America. It’s a great way to use up stash you wouldn’t use for anything else and it feels good to do something nice. Simple and mindless knitting for times when you need it. :lol:
I’ve also started a pair of socks on DPN’s now that I know how to use them and don’t get horrendous ladders. I’m trying Silver’s tutorial and am about halfway down the ribbing. I’m using Parade from KP…love how the stripes just happen! I’ve been somewhat ambivalent about socks… you can get them so cheap it seems pointless in a way, but… some people swear by them. Plus it’s just something I felt I needed to do because I can. AND I learn something with every new project so it won’t be wasted effort no matter how you look at it.

:crying: We went out to dinner tonite and when I came home my sock was on the floor. I knew something was up because I’d left it on the couch. Apparently Foofie got to it…she didn’t hurt the sock or the needles IN the sock, but she totally shredded my working needle and messed up the ball of yarn! :crying: They are brand new…I just got them from Carol OH. At least I still have 4, but it was a bummer nonetheless! She’s never paid any attention to my knitting before… nor has Marshmallow. I think it was the bamboo needles. She’s stolen toothpicks so I guess she thought it was a giant one. I’m just glad she wasn’t hurt since the needles were poking every which way and chewing bamboo is a nono!
So anyway… I’m past the ribbing, heel flap, turn and gusset and onto the foot part. It’s looking pretty cool! I don’t like the way the heel flap is done though. Picking up stitches that way leaves a slight ridge which I know would bother me. I’ll finish this pair and see if it improves with the second sock. If not then I’ll try another heel flap version next time. It’s kind of fun watching it come together correctly this time! :cheering:

Re the heel flap: the ridge isn’t as noticeable on as you think it will be. I never notice the ones in my socks. I hope the same is true for you. And I’m very excited for you as you attempt socks again. See, they’re not that bad!
WOW you’ve made that sock FAST, even with Bad Foofie stalling the process! Someday I’ll finish mine :rollseyes: I don’t know why mine are taking so long…I’m not a slow knitter with anything else (Tubey excluded of course!! )
