Having problems with pattern

I don’t know why I started with an Intermediate pattern to make, but this outfit is cute.
I’m having problems with the armholes. Where it says “Shape armholes: Next row: Sl st in first 2 sts. (I get that). Ch 1. Pat to last 2 sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. 43 sts. Work 1 row even in pat.” This is the confusing part. What exactly does that mean? Am I doing a sl st in the first 2 sts, ch 1 pattern till I count 43 sts?

It is a cute pattern. Sl st in the first 2 sts, ch 1, then continue in the Bodice pattern (rows 3-6) that you have been doing. Work in the Bodice pattern up to the last 2sts (that should be 43sts worked).
