Happy Hanukkah everyone! In the next 8 days we will be lighting candles in memory of the Maccabi rebellion and victory over the Seleucid Antiochus IV and the rededication of the Second Temple. I wish everyone the miracles like the one that kept the oil burning for 8 day in the “container of oil” of the Temple instead of just one day. This holiday is all about oily and totally unhealthy food such as the “sufganiyot” - big round donuts filled with jam or other goodies. Diet, here we come!
Happy Hanukkah everyone!! Enjoy your time, enjoy your family, enjoy your traditions and enjoy those donuts!
Happy Hanukkah! Enjoy a sufganiyot for me!
Happy Hanukkah!!! I was just explaining to my kids the other night about the eight candles and the oil. Glad to see I had most of it right. Enjoy!
Happy Hanukkah!! My roommate is Jewish so I bought a menorah this weekend and I’m super excited to light the first candle! I’m making her teach me some prayers too.
Happy Hanukkah to everyone!
Bah, though, it being so early and me being at school and not at home.
Happy Hanakuh! We lit our first candle last night and my DH got me one of the digital photo frames. I brought it to work to day loaded with a my pics from my Europe vacation a few weeks ago and have bored all my coworkers this AM.
Happy Hanukkah to you all. I am not Jewish, but being Catholic I really love the traditions. I wish particular friend of mine still lived nearby. I got to experience a little bit of Passover with him but wish I could have experienced Hanukkah too because of those stories and traditions as well.
Enjoy all your celebrations!
That’s cool! I celebrate Hannukah too!
(My mom’s Jewish and my dad is Christian.
I made some yummy latkes last night and lit candles, etc. We missed the 2nd night, but I love Hannukah because of all the traditions, including the food, the games, etc.
I put some Hannukahy pictures up on my blog if anyone is interested (Our Menorah and some yummy new yarn).
Happy Hanukkah! :balloons:
Happy Hanakkah! Enjoy your celebration!
