Ooo ooo!!! :waving: I have a great name for the Exercise Blog: “Fit Knitters!” Isn’t that just the most clever thing you’ve heard today? har har
Well, I’ll have to see if I can work out a 5 pm visit to the gym. DH usually can’t get to the hospital until later, and 5ish is usually about the time DS is getting chemo. So, I’m thinking I wouldn’t want to be leaving just then.
I guess we’ll probably just have to settle for the yarn store. That’s too bad, 'cause it’s so much more fun to exercise with a buddy!! You’ve got me wondering, now, though, whether or not they’ll make me take the orientation. I haven’t been to the fitness center yet; although the Child Life specialist has been trying to get me to go. (Do I look that out of shape? )
Yeah!! I want to join! My husband is training for a sprint triathalon and I’m feeling quite inferior. He’s still a big guy but he’s using this as a goal to help lose weight.
I told him that if he goes under 200 pounds that I’ll have to leave him for a bigger guy. I don’t want a fight to break out in a bar some night and have him hide behind me!
This heat wave we’re having in the mid-west is just killing my motivation. We have all of these trails near us on forrest preserves (ha! they should be called prairie preserves) and it’s just too hot & humid to take advantage of them. I’ll be on the treadmill tonight and watching the animals play in my backyard again tonight . . . that way I can knit later on without guilt!
:cheering: :XX:
I can do the LYS later in the evening after DH gets to the hospital, if that will work out OK. It’s just that the 5 o’clock dealy @ the gym won’t work. He doesn’t usually get up to the hospital until at least 6 pm.
I bet you’re going to tell me that the LYS closes before 6 pm, aren’t you? :crying:
I just got home from the health club (shall we start calling it the HC??) and I am WIPED!!! I was told that the Monday aqua class was very similar to the Wednesday class…WRONGGGGG!
Its called “H2O Bootcamp”. That should have given me a clue. The instructor is Larry…and, Im telling you, if he werent so damned cute and FUNNY, I would have punched him! He is the FASTEST counter I have ever met! 1and2and3and4…well, I cant quite get it across whilst typing. He was SO SO SOOOO funny! I was cracking up through the whole class!
The important thing is, I went, I saw, I CONQUERED!!! :cheering:
Im looking forward to the more “sedate” class on Wednesday…
You can’t knit with a skinny butt. You have to have a good solid base in order to keep from tipping over into your project basket. I read a study recently that proved that there is an inverse correlation between butt size and knitting ability.
Well, guess after eating 2 candy bars tonight I should probably join up here. I need to get my motivation back. I lost it somewhere between family reunion and PMS
Al saw it at an antique shop in Evanston & had to have it. He also thought it would be gulp sexy in his sick, twisted way. I warned him I wasnt gonna comply. He bought it anyway. Its in our attic & only comes down for our nephews who thinks its fun.
This is a great idea for a blog thread! Great name!
DH and I started a routine in the spring, then dropped it. We’re lame! I want to get in shape, just for health benefits, and because I’m worried about bone loss. I know I’m young to worry, but I’m sedentary enough that I think it’s actually a concern. We need to get back into it! You all are inspiring!
 OMG, Julie, that is a GREAT idea!!!
Has anyone tried this??
I was pondering the posibility of knitting while on a tread mill, but the recumbent bike sounds even better!..
Knitting on the recumbent bike or treadmill is really making me laugh. I have this mental image of getting all tangled up in the yarn & having the kids find me tied to the exercise equipment when they come looking for breakfast!! :roflhard:
Hey! Perhaps one of us needs to invent a bicycle that will concurrently operate a spinning wheel so we can spin wool while we’re exercising!!! :cheering:
