Well I’m guessing since Google found nothing but… think about if you were double knitting stockinette and you want a different color for each side - red front and yellow back. For each pair of yarn stitches, you’d knit the red strand and then purl its yellow mate. So theoretically, since seed is alternating k,p,k, You’d knit the red yarn st and purl the yellow yarn. Then purl the red (front) stitch and knit the yellow (back) stitch. Make sense? Like I said, just guessing but you could easily give it a try. :grin:

I did try to do it but the end results just didn’t look right so I was wondering if there was a trick to it.

Welcome to KH!
How are you working the double knitting? Are you working a single row, alternating front stitch and back stitch or are you working it as 2 rows? For 2 rows, you knit a stitch, slip a stitch across row 1 and then knit the slipped sts across row 2.

Did you figure this out yet? If not, I found a link to a blog with a really good 2-part tutorial on doing a rib stitch in double knitting. I know you asked about seed but given they are both patterns alternating between knits and purls, I think you might find it helpful:

great link!! thanks :heart:

I am doing it in a single row. Is it easier to do it as 2 rows?

Thank you so much, this was EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!
You are awesome! :blush::blush:

Give it a try. I’ve worked it as a single row but since you have a stitch pattern added on top of the double knitting, it may be easier to work one side alternating knit, slip, purl, slip and so on. Then turn and work the opposite side, knitting or purling the slip sts and slipping the sts that were worked on the first side.
Definitely something to practice on a small swatch first. Are you following a pattern and if so what is the name?
