That yarn is so PURTEEE!! :inlove:[/quote]

Thanks! They are both DONE now so you can add them to your ticker if you haven’t already. :teehee:

DONE! :cheering:

Jan!! Those colors are precious! I need to make some more of these. :yay:

Those are gorgeous hats Jan! :inlove:

I’ll try working on the one I have going on tomorrow. I have a preemie hat for The Preemie Project OTN right now that I need to finish up.

I finished one! My DH was so proud of me… this is one of the few projects that I have ever finished and not pulled apart! Maybe because it was so tiny and fast.

YAY AnotherBecca - such nice baby colors on that hat! :cheering:

And all the way from Japan!

Hello my darling charity knitters!

Any more hats for the ticker?

I’m on a flight tomorrow and this seems like a very portable project  may have to toss one in the bag!

Seeing this knit-along made me register so I could add to the count! I’m not even sure how I ran across the project several weeks ago – perhaps on the Guideposts “Knit for Kids”? I found a pattern for the project on “Warm Up America” for a “knit in the round” that I use. Life is too short to spend it seaming up projects! :wall: I’m attaching the pattern for anyone who likes to knit themselves in circles.

I have 3 done and I’m working on a 4th. What a blast they are to make. When I finished the first one, I put it on my hand and stared at it for the longest time. Since I don’t have kids, it’s just hard to imagine that a little baby’s head fits in it.

Sorry no pictures … no camera. I’ll recruit a friend to help with that & post some pictures later.

Happy Thanksgiving!

i just found Save the Children out there before i found it here. i will definately have to knit some up. this will be my first hat, but it will be a nice project to do while taking small breaks from the two baby blankets i’m working on.

i have some leftover Bernat Haven which should knit up nicely - i’ll just have to figure out the correct amount of stitches for the thicker yarn.

wow - i just finished one! my first hat. but i didnt realize how tiny it would be - it’s between 10" and 11" in circumference, but still - how tiny!

i will post pics when i can but i think it is absolutely adorable.

I’ve got a few more done, but I don’t remember at what point the count for me is at… :?? I’ll post pix tomorrow.

AuntieEm - welcome!! So glad you’ve joined KH AND this KAL!
Your 3 hats are on the ticker - let me know when to post # 4 :cheering:

stagebear - so glad you found us :waving:
Congrats on hat #1 - it will be on the ticker momentarily.

It is amazing, and a little sad to think how tiny they are, but I guess it reminds us how much these wee babies verly likely need a soft, warm covering for their heads :pout:

Jan - I’ll look back and see where you last left off in the count. You’re a machine! :teehee:

Before this post Jan you had 15 done and posted about here.

Here’s some more hats. However 3 of them are made of wool so they may not be soft enough for this project.

I made up the fair isle and cable patterns. On the striped one I forgot to use a bigger needle after the ribbing, but it’s pretty stretchy anyway. The cable one looks narrow, but it’s super stretchy!

:inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

Beautiful hats Jan! I really like the gray and purple one!

Jan - that’s 20 hats!!!
:cheering: :cheering:

(if my count is right :teehee: )

I’m proud to be part of this KAL with all of you.

Jan, where are you getting your fair isle patterns from?

Thanks! I make up the patterns myself. I printed out some graph paper with the correct number of stitches and just play around. You don’t need to print out the 44 or 48 since you will only be making a repeatable part of the pattern. I print 22 and 24 grid papers and work from those.

Here’s the link for the paper.

Oh goodness, I didn’t know about this! Count me in! I hope I can finish a cap in time…it will be my first ever hat. In fact, I’ve never knitted anything besides scarves before…so this should be fun! Thanks for the links and information, guys, and happy knitting!

Hello and welcome! Happpy knitting to you too!

Jan - thanks for that AWESOME link!
