Thanks Sue. When we got home from the visitation, your card was here for us. Thankyou so much. It’s beautiful. There was also another card here from DH’s X wife. She addressed it to him only. Today he is going to the funeral with his children and X SIL because that is all that would fit into MY car! I had to beg a ride from someone else so I could get there. We are both pretty upset about this but thre X SIL really wanted to go and just assumed that DH would take her. Oh well, life goes on and at least I found a way there. I WILL be sitting beside DH today, no matter which of his kids decides I won’t. Poor man is not having a good day. He left here today at 7 a.m. to drive to St. Catharines to get all of them for the funeral, which is at 10:30 a.m. Then he will have to drive them all back home again after the reception. This is NOT how I wanted things to go. I don’t have a choice, so I will suck it up and shut up, but I WILL be there beside him today!
Christine: How awful for Frank, but glad you managed to get a ride. Some people just do not think. Will be thinking about you this morning.
Hi everyone. I am going to a birthday party today for my friends dgd who is turning 1. I didn’t knit anything, but I did make a card to go with the gift.
Have a good weekend and happy :knitting:
Morning!
Gina-Your boss is being unbelieveable! Sounds like she is doing everything in her power to get you to quit. Hang in there.
Sue-Have fun at the party!
Christine- to you and Frank today! How sad that there has to be family drama on this day. You have every right to sit next to Frank and be there to support him. Will keep you in my thoughts today.
Hi to everyone! Hope you all have a good weekend!
mornin all! I’ve been busy with family & comming home to do a load of laundry here and there but the house is kinda a mess and there’s laundry to fold; imagine that
today I get to shoot that bday party for the 70 year old man & think it would be nice if we took a card; after all they’re paying me to come take pics & have invited Brian & the kids to join the party. Prolly because Brian woks with him, but at any rate it’s pretty neat. I’m glad they’re comming. This should be fun!
My sis graduated with a BSN yesterday & she’s so thrilled. I’m so proud and happy for her. Now she can relax a bit. She’s currently flying to AZ to go to her future brother-in-laws wedding, then she turns 21 on the 20th and get’s married next Saturday. Boy things will be nice and relaxed on Sunday. Not to mention that we’re going to the wine festivalthat day (maybe Monday) but then life will be back to normal after that. I’m really excited because this is the first year that I’m over 21 and not pregnant or nursing & can go and enjoy the wine at the festival! :woot:
My nutrition class starts this Monday, glad it’s online I couldn’t manage going to sit in class while all of this is going on. but can’t afford to not continue school.
Christine, you and your DH are in my thoughts and prayers today. I’m so glad you were understanding about his having to drive his siblings and were able to find another ride. Not ideal, but that’s life sometimes, huh? He’ll need your support tonight after such a long day. I’ll pray that his kids don’t cause any hurt feelings. They are hurting right now, too and probably don’t even think about others’ pain. Anyway, know that we love you!
Sue, have fun at the party.
Julie, you’re one busy woman! Enjoy the wine thing. You’ll need a break!
Lisa, you’re right. She IS doing everything she can to get me to quit. Last night I wrote down everything and I’m considering going to her supervisor. I’m losing sleep over it all and REALLY would like to quit. But, the parent of one of my students told me yesterday that she told my boss she didn’t want other teachers to come b/c they didn’t know how to work with her daughter. She didn’t realize how good I was with her daughter until they started sending other teachers. It’s the KIDS who make me want to keep going despite my boss, but the stress from my boss is becoming too much. The thought of going to her supervisors scares me, though.
Again, just checking in.
I’m knitting a lot of stuff, includinga few berets and like 10 pairs of socks.
Probably not going to be on for a little while.
:sun: Good Morning Socksters!
Just checking in, JD took off Friday and then yesterday was soccer games. We are going to stay home today and just enjoy being home seems like lately we are always out the door on different scheds.
Julie~I posted a picture of it on my blog :happydance:
Rosalie~Have fun in Italy :yay:
Christine~That stinks that the family is being that, your in my prayers
Gina~I agree she is trying to force you out…your in my prayers
Sue~ohh thanks
Hi everyone if I missed something just holler…
I finished a cute bag for the VacShak and now I’m working on my Shetland Shorty Wrap before starting them a shawl. I need to work in time to do a gauge for the blanket we are starting next month…still not sure what yarn to use.
The septic came back in great condition on the house…they decided to not fix the furnace problem they said they wouldn’t feel comfy and would worry about us having problems…so we got a new furnace and they paid for the warranties too…they built this house and love this place…they seem really happy that it’s getting a young couple with kids…they are very excited 'cause before us not many looked at the house, they want to be settled in their new house before the first grandbaby comes (they are moving to be closer to it)…we have the appraisal on Monday should hear back on it by Thursday and should have water results tomorrow…
I hope you all have a great day of knitting :sun:
Gina I think you need to talk to her supervisor; you can do it girl. Put on your big girl panties & go for it! We’re all behind you
Dustina how exciting!
Ok the graduation is over & my 70th bday photo shoot is over, just need to make a dvd/cd copy of all the 312 photos I took :thud: But that will be quick; need to run to wally world and get some more DVD covers to make them a nice cover. Now Wed. is her 21st bday celebration, Thurs is the bachlorette party (just us bridesmaids going to one of the girls houses & watching chick flicks), Friday is the rehersal & dinner & Sat am is the wedding. Sunday is the wine festival & then we’ll be back to a semi-normal schedule. This is also Jacob’s last week of school, I can’t believe he only has 4 days left of preschool. Thursday is also his bridging ceremony; I didn’t realize how crazy busy this week is. Think I’ll sleep for a week. haha, yea right. Gonna go knit a round on my hemlock ring, I have 3 more increase rounds to do & 4 rounds in between each of those & I’m scared that I’m gonna run outta yarn. I’ll have to play it by ear and see.
to all and happy :knitting:
Hello all,
Josh and I went away to Niagara Falls last night. We went to see one of his friend’s fiance’s sing in a show at the casino. During the day we went to the sky wheel (a HUGE ferris wheel type thing where you’re enclosed in a plastic bubble). We were both terrified and couldn’t move. It was hilarious. We then checked into the hotel and got upgraded to a fallsview room! That was a nice treat. Then we went to The Keg for dinner and spent too much money on yummy food. We went and played some roulette- won $195! Then went to the show and went back to the hotel.
I think I forgot to tell you guys that we got a new car! A used 2006 Ford Escape. I love it, so much better than the Ranger.
Julie- Good luck with your busy week. Can’t wait to see pics! And have fun at the wine festival- I’d love to go with you!
Dustina- Glad everything is going well with the house. It will be so nice for you to have something of your own.
Gina- You should talk to her supervisor. It’s really unfair to feel bullied that way. People can be so horrible to each other, I don’t understand it.
Christine- It sounds like you’re feeling a little bitter. Just remember that there’s a lot of emotions going around right now. Hope everything went okay at the service.
Sue- Feeling any better? Hope the birthday party was fun.
Rosalie- Have fun in Italy. I have a BA in Classics, so if you have any questions about anything Roman- I’m your gal!
Dotty, how are you doing?
Christine, did you hold up okay yesterday?
Dustina, I’m SO happy for you that the house seems to be coming together! YAY!!!
Julie and Ann, I know I should go talk to the supervisor. Trouble is, there are two supervisors. One for special ed and one for regular ed. Who do I go to? Do I put things in writing? Do I make an appointment or just try to show up?
Ann, your time at Niagara sounds lovely! How nice for the upgrade! I woudn’t have done well on the sky wheel! UGH! Great to have a new car, too!
DD left for Italy today and will be gone until June 3. Pray that she has a wonderful, safe time. We’re so thankful that she just found out she got addtional scholarship money!!!:cheering:
DS is in Washington State working for my folks. He left on Thursday and will be gone through mid-July. Thankfully, DH comes home tonight and will be home all week. He’ll be out of town next week and it will be REALLY quiet around here then! I stopped at a yarn store on the way back from the airport. I hoping to find yarn to make the February Lady sweater, but nothing was within my budget, so I bought yarn to make the Pentafold Felted Moebius bowl. It looks like a fun little knit! I’ve got about four rows left of the last sleeve and then the collar of the Amused, so I need another project!
Hope y’all are doing well!
Hi to those who haven’t been on lately!
Hey all!
Just checking in but still buried in garage-bedroom-sorting + 2 jobs (and filling in at a third). I’ve decided since my room is empty, to repaint, rearrange, and redecorate. I don’t know what color I’m going now, but I’m using my maps and various things I’ve found while traveling, particularly otovalan, Japanese, aboriginal, and Northwest Native traditional stuff, rocks, shells, driftwood and sea glass from around the world. Wish I’d brought the rest of my sea glass back from Alaska, so I could display it better.
bangs head on wall I can’t believe I signed up for this, I still have to make a queen size double-wedding-ring quilt by July 12!
LOL anyways, hope everyone had a splendid weekend!
Just checking in. Today, I had a nice and quiet day, welcome after the crazy week I had. I’m going to prep my dinner first (making flour-tortilla’s) so I only have to put it in the oven tonight and then I’m going to install myself in front of a movie and knit. My wrist is doing fine again and I don’t have any pain, so I really want to do some non-stop knitting now.
:sun: Good Morning Socksters!
Lieke~Sounds like a nice evening :happydance:
Emily~You are one busy gal right now :teehee: can’t wait to see the room!
Julie~Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses…Isaiah has 8 more days…this time of year gets very hectic…a lot happens in the schools :teehee:
Gina~I would ask for a meeting with both of them…Prayers for you travelers! That is very cute :happydance:
Ann~sounds like a wonderful trip :happydance:
Karina~Whatch into? I hope everything is going well
Hi Dotty, Sue, Christine, Carla, Lisa, Chris, Jackie, Rosalie, Lady Vi, Steve, Mare, and everyone!
Today is going to be a day of finding the house and then starting on the grass. We packed up some stuff yesterday. I hate this about moving I don’t do good when things are everywhere and you have to walk around boxes.
The house passed the water the appraiser will be there this morning…
I worked on the Shorty wrap last night and it’s moving right along…then I gotta start a shawl for the LYS.
I hope you all have a wonderful day of knitting :sun:
I keep forgetting to tell you guys some info about the house we found out…when we first started telling people around here they would want to pin point the exact location of the house…and then they would get all nervous on us like they had something to say but wouldn’t say it…finally I told Jackie spill it we wanna know…she said well it could be just rumors but she has always been told of stories of a mad farmer who used his barn to torture people and then buried them…they say it’s haunted…so I told JD he was like no way…but then I told another lady who said yeah that is how the sellers got the land it was his brother…so I told JD still said no way…I was searching google but found nothing…so then we went to tell the Gehrkes we would be leaving and they did the same thing, he said do you know the story? I said yeah…JD then was like is it true???He said yeah that guy was pretty crazy… So JD dug deeper on google and found it…
Now the true story is he killed 3 people and they did find them there buried in shallow graves…he died later in a instuite… we don’t believe in hauntings but they do have several reports of people seeing him still walk the road with his ol’ coon dog behind him.
We thought this was all pretty interesting so we called Debbie to see is it true? is it the brother? She said yeah it’s true but it wasn’t a brother…and the actually ol’ farm house/barn is below our place but he did own our land at the time…so JD can claim to live on what they call this place around here…he started a blog (hasn’t posted on it yet)…and mom ordered the book about it that a local wrote…
so our house has history…I just hope the kids don’t hear the other rumor out there or they won’t sleep at all…:teehee:
Ha, really? Ya know, just for the fun of it, I was planning out my life after high school. So far, I had I apply to Harvard, Columbia, and John Hopkins to major in Classics. Then everyone is saying that I should do something in law…
Anyways…
G J, in MY opinion, you need to talk to her supervisor about this. You are definitely in my prayers.
Christine, I hope the service went okay. You and your DH are in my prayers.
Ann, Niagara Falls! How was it?
Lieke, I love quiet days. Especially after a crazy week!
Dustina, I hate when things are everywhere when packing up for just about anything too.
So to all of you that I haven’t mentioned, hi! :waving:
I got some knitting done in the past few days. I’ve gotten to sleep late because of I’m done with school for the year. I’ve been just freaking out about packing because I haven’t even started and I’m having a little anxiety about the flight. However, I have been to Korea and back twice, China and back once, and Italy (same place where I am going this year) and back 4 times. I hope to get a lot of knitting in on the flight. I just hope that they don’t take away my needles!
I’ve started this beret http://laurennell.com/knit/?p=16 and I’m almost done! :woot: I’m also making socks for 4 of my friends and I’ve finished one pair (maybe pics sometime) and I’m almost done with one of the next pair. It’s all very exciting!
Hope you’re all well and I’ll try to post here, but if not, I’ll say hi when I get back from Italy.
I’d first document everything, on paper. Then make an appointment with both supervisors on the same day, not necessarily together, but give them both the same paperwork. Then they’re both on the same page and since you took the time to meet with both of them maybe they’ll both see that you really mean business & this way that you’re being treated is sucky. I know it’s nerve racking but just get their phone numbers and make an appointment, perferably when DH is home so you have someone to talk to/cry on his shoulder. Of course we’re here for you too, :grouphug: You can do this!
Dustina how wild about the house’s history, (boo!) jk. I hope the kids dont find out either, but they’ll be in school and they will find out when their friends know where they live. keep that in mind, kids are always out to mess with eachother & scaring is ‘fun.’ Maybe set the kids down and tell them that there is a story about a ghostly man walking around the property with his dog, but that he’s friendly; like Casper. Just so that it’s not a total shock to them.
I have lots to do today, just fertilized the grass again & the first half is getting watered now. THen I’m going to bathe the girls and make sure that Katie’s dress still fits her for the wedding. I need to have Jacob try on his pants and see where they need to be hemed because he’s grown some but I dont think he’s grown as much as we allowed when we bought the bigger size. Grandma’s working on fixing my dress, what a mess that was. I was going to do it but she said I didn’t know how and that i"d make a bigger mess; ok well I’ll never learn if she doesn’t let me try.
HOpe you all are doing well, talk toyou later!
Gina I also meant to say that the pentafold bowl is really neat looking, what colors did you buy?
Rosalie you’ll be fine, & they shouldn’t take your needles from you. Can’t wait to see pics. Love the pattern you found! What color are you knitting it in?
Ann I’d love for you to be able to come to the wine festival, it’s gonna be fun! (& hot) Hope you are doing well. O and congrats on the '06 escape, those are fun & much better than a ranger, imho. I’d love to go to Niagra Falls, sounds like fun & congrats on winning the $195 :woot: That’ll be nice to have some extra $.
It’s KP Palette in Tidepool Heather.
Here’s the link if you wanna see it http://www.knitpicks.com/Palette+Yarn_YD5420132.html. It’s in the middle of the page. It’s a greenish-blueish color. I had it left over from a pair of socks, so I just used it. I don’t really like Palette though, so I’m trying to find another yarn to use.
Hey guys Diva Knitting (Kemp) is having a 4year blogiversary if you would like to enter…read about it here.…some neat stuff to win :happydance:
Hi Everyone,
Christine: I hope that you are just relaxing after the weekend.
Ann: Glad you had such a good trip to Niagara. How wonderful to see the falls at night from your room. Congrats on your win.
Dustina: Had a chill down my spine reading about your house. I think you have a great attitude toward the stories but not sue what to says to the children.
Gina: I also think that you should speak with the supervisors. That bowl is very interesting.
Jess: You make me tired just reading about all that you are doing.
Rosalie: Have a great trip. Love the colour of the yarn you are using.
Julie: I hope the dress turns out okay in the end. You have a busy week. Wishing you good luck.
Lieke: Hope you enjoyed your restful evening.
:waving: to Lisa and anyone else I have missed.
I had a good time at the birthday party. I had not seen most of my friends relatives since the baby shower. What a cute little one year old she is.
My dgd is 5 today, so I will call her later.
My back/shoulder is a lot better but I still don’t think I should be knitting, maybe next week.
