Any Sock KAL 2

Good Morning Sole-mates.

The clouds are down at ground level today and will be crying all day. Good weather to either stay in bed or to knit. If only I could convince my employer that they should pay me to do sleep and knit.

Chris, wouldn’t that be nice!

Christine, I’m glad the shopping trip went well and you are all ready for your trip!

Lieke, sorry to hear you have more corrections to make to your paper! I hope it will be quick and painless this time, and you’ll be done soon. You can do it!

Ann, everything OK? Take care, and BIG HUGS from Texas! I wish we could all gather 'round to give you hugs in person.

I did enjoy my waiting/knitting time yesterday- I got to chat with a friend, and I got some work done on the 2nd slipper sock for my friend Marissa. I also got an email from my friend Adrie, who I knitted the hat for a little while back. She got it in the mail and she loves it! It’s so nice to get a good reception on something I made. I also got a box in the mail from my good friend Jessica, who returned a needle she borrowed from me, and also sent me a hand-knitted snowflake, some chocolates, and a lovely card. YAY, I love knitting mail!

Christine: Glad the shopping day went well. When do you actually leave?

Lieke: Sorry to hear about the paper.

Ann:

Dustina: and anyone else interested, Knitting Daily has a free pdf of 7 lace patterns today.

Julie: The family picture is very good.

It is a miserable day here, colder and raining. The dreaded “S” word has even been mentioned for next week. I hope they are wrong.

Julie, I emailed you a learning styles inventory. Once you get the results back to me, I’ll send you some more stuff on learning and study techniques that work with your styles.

Carey, thanks for the recipe. I have some tilapia fillets in the freezer. Maybe I’ll try it with that instead of salmon.

Christine, YAY on the outfits AND the free ball of yarn!

Lieke, Don’t you wish they’d just say, “Make this change here, this change here and this change here.” and be DONE with it already!?! Ugh. I feel for ya! Maybe call the place about the job and let them know how much you enjoyed the work and want to continue working with them. Be persistent, but not pushy.

Chris, I like the sole-mates!

Sue, thanks for the info on knitting daily. I get it on an obscure email account that I only check occasionally, so I loose out on the stuff that’s only posted for a day or two.

I’m having someone give me a price on cleaning my carpets today. They really need it. Are there any national cleaning companies that any of you can reccommend? It’s also laundry day and I’m going to make a pineapple upsidedown cake. Yum!

:sun: Good Morning Socksters!!

Julie~Great photo :happydance:

Sue~Thanks, I got in :happydance:

Ann~:hug:The flowers are very pretty…I usually give plants too…I can’t keep any plant going, JD can better than me…but then I usually use the baskets for something

Christine~ :teehee: I’m glad you liked the joke and the trip went well!

Lieke~:hug::heart::hug:

Carey~Yay for knitting!! :happydance:

Gina~I’m going to add your student to my prayer list…hopes things change so that he wants to learn

Chris~ and :noway: on the body hints!

Hi Lisa, Carla, Lady Vi, Mare, Steve, everyone!

Yesterday we left early to get the birth certificate and it was very quick so then we had to wait at the dance studio for some time before class began…

then I went to the dr who is now under our local hospital :wall:…used to be you came in, signed in , had a seat and before I could bring out the knitting called back…let’s just say now you gotta take a number and we were there from 11:40 till almost 2!! I was not happy, it was a pretty warm sunny day…and then they told me she was behind on their shots…well I questioned them 'cause I bring her in yearly and when she was younger monthly or whenever she was suppose to be…I wasn’t hateful I just wanted to make sure…well then they kinda got mean with me and how it was my reasbonsiblity not theirs…hellooo they have the charts not me! I asked them well when you went from hand written charts to the computer charts could they have gotten lost then? and they didn’t like that but you know I didn’t want her having double doses…they assured me that they had done their part and there was no way she had those shots…by this time I felt like a horrible mom so told them Ok I guess I messed up…so she had 4 shots yesterday and has to go back in 6wks for the kindergarten shot…after I got home and was venting to a friend she said didn’t the dr see both kids at one time on their visits…umm yes…do you think her shots could be on Isaiah’s records…so now I’m worried that I gave her a double dose and done called the dr left a message…I’m going to wait till Aug before I give her the last shot…I just really feel bad now for letting them go ahead yesterday, she is fine though never skipped a beat or complained about anything…went to soccer practice and loved it…

We had AR this morning…now I’m going to find my house and cast on to the sweater sleeves or other mitten :teehee:

It’s rainy here today and not as nice…I hope you all have a wonderful day of knitting :sun:

Gina~My dad loves those…I make him one for Easter and Christmas every year. Do you use an ol’ iron skillet to make yours in? :happydance:I’ll be making one next Friday

I just got an email about a great price for Sockotta yarn.I have used it and really like it. If I didn’t have so much in my stash, I would definitely be ordering.

http://www.discontinuedbrandnameyarn.com/pages/3269/Sockotta.htm

Thanks all. The paper is done again (after a whole day of work). It wasn’t as much as the first time, but still, I just want it to be done.

DBF was really sweet to me today. He bought me a pink/black dice-set for D&D (I’m collecting pink dice-sets) and a DVD, just because he loved me

Now, I’m knitting him a dice bag for his own dice-sets.

I’ll call the job when I haven’t heard from them next wednesday. Then, it’s been a week since I worked there.

It sounds like the paper is more your adviser’s idea’s then your, but you do get the piece of paper.

Go out today and get a card! Sent it to the job with a brief not thanking them for the opportunity and that you like the prospect of working for them. This shows politeness and keeps your name and face in their minds.

Well, I don’t have to do anything, cause i didn’t get the job :frowning:

Lieke: I am so sorry to hear you did not get that job. There is a PERFECT job out there for you, but you just haven’t found it yet.

This weather is really bothering me today. I’m off to bed again. I am so glad that yesterday when I had to go for my trip the weather co-operated and I had a really great drive.

Lieke, I’m so sorry! I know Christine is right, you’ll find something better!

Christine, I’m sorry you’re not feeling well today, I hope you’ll be better tomorrow!

hope all those of you who are feeling lousy get to feeling better real qcik.

Sue I got that email too but have a huge stash of sock yarn.
And my feet sweat in all socks so I’m not so sure I’ll keep my stash. I’d rather go barefoot.

Katie’s in gerber panties now, well now theyre off, we’re giving her some breathin time’ and see if she’ll pee in the pottt, she’s only 16 onths so I’m not ready to push her but she seems semi ready.

well that lased about n hour and now she ased for a diaper
then a few min later she wanted the gerber panties on

ETA update, she lasted 2 hours, then peed on the floor (tile) and cried because she was so upset that she was wet.
Do you all think I’m crazy or silly for trying her so young? (she’s 16.5 months)

Sorry kids, haven’t posted in a while. Have been busy with spinning, work and the youngest. Oi that’s a story in and of itself. O well, I’ll spare you the gory details.:passedout:

Well on the spinning topic, I did get some sock yarn done finally!!:clink:
Here’s a pic of the yarn, all 580 yards of 3-ply pink purple n blue.

I plan to knit the grands some socks with it. I should have enough to even knit their mom some as well!!

ETA: That should read 589 yards not 580!

Julie: No it’s not crazy. They know when they are ready. Usually younger children are quicker because they see their siblings using the potty or toilet. Don’t be upset when she has mistakes and don’t let her see you are upset, just clean her up and carry on. But when she does go on the potty praise the heck out of her. She’ll catch on quickly enough. She’s very smart!

I’ll be better again once the weather settles down. The wind outside tonight is crazy and loud. It’s supposed to be cold all week long next week and we are expecting snow on Monday and Thursday. I want to live in FLORIDA!!!

fibrenut: that is beautiful sock yarn. I am sure the grands will love their socks!

Tami is everything ok? That’s some purdy yarn, how’d you ply it? I still haven’t used my wheel since this term started the end of Jan. don’t hit :hiding:

Christine; thanks, she was one upset girl after she peed her panties, poor thing. I didn’t get upset at all, just said, “ut-oh” and then took them off her & cleaned up the floor. She’s not a puppy.

:blooby: Mornin all you sock people!
Please say a little  for me this afternoon, that I do much better than a 59% on this exam today; I’ve studied really hard this time & hope to get a better grade. Thanks.
As for knitting news, yup you guessed it, nada.

Julie, good luck with your exam. I’m thinking about you

Fibernut, that’s some beautiful yarn!

Had to work all day today and now my neck is hurting again. I think I did a bit to much. Maybe I should go to the GP next week, but I’m still hoping it’ll just go away. Tonight, I’ll only do some laundry and watch a movie and knit.

Checking in to let you guys know I’m still alive (I think ). Have you guys tried the new 4" KP Harmony sock dpns? When I use my 6", I’m not too fond of all the sliding around on the needles I have to do with my stitches. I’m thinking about getting the 4" set. They’re cheaper, plus they include sz 4. Definitely a plus since I always have to go up a size anyway what with my tight knitting and all. Opinions? Pros? Cons?

Now I’m off to shop for a Rav swap partner. :happydance:
