Any Sock KAL 2

Soooooooo the dog crate cover my friend made for Boots arrived today in the mail at it is really nice, and very well made! The one he had was made of polar fleece and he chewed the hell out of it. This one is made out of canvas and is very nice and thick. I sprayed it with bitter apple spray when I put it on and he hasn’t bothered to chew it at all.

YES the postal truck came to my house today!

YES the postal truck brought my CPH!!!

I tried it on and it fits perfectly! I have to wait until DH gets home to take a picture of me wearing it. I promise to do this!!! OMG it is really really nice. Gina and Carey, you both did a wonderful job of this sweater! I LOVE it so much!!! Thankyou, thankyou and thankyou again a thousand times!

I am not sure which of you wonderful women put the white knitted scarf in the package for me, but thank you so much for that. It goes with the sweater nicely and will get a lot of use, I am sure! Again, thanks so much for all your work. Whenever I wear the CPH now I will be getting a big Texas Hug and therefore I have changed the sweater’s name from CPH to Texas Hug!!! I can’t thank both of you enough!!!

ADDED LATER: DH has been driving my car since his died a few months ago. He has hit a couple of major potholes. Today on his way to work, the check engine light came on. It turns out the transmission housing has a crack in it and needs replacing, the front right tie rod was broken (because of the pot holes) and the car needs an alignment and oil change. All total, because the mechanic is putting in a second hand transmission, it is going to cost $1,700.00 to have the car fixed. Because it is the only car in the household now, we have to spend that money, or DH won’t have a way to get to work. I had a great morning, but the afternoon is not working out so well now! I think I will put my Texas Hug on because now I need a hug!!!

Good to hear you got the CPH and the big Texas hugs. Sorry to hear about the car.

The cover looks great, but, Boots looks like he needs a tin cup to rattle against the bars to get the jailer’s attention. No just kidding he looks quite comfortable in his house.

Christine~Roo is doing good now that med really turned her around by Sunday night, she is running around playing and not stopping again. I’m sorry about the car and the lady not being able to watch Boots …I’m glad you got the CPH hug today and that is too cute of a crate cover for him! I hope you get to knit this afternoon, that always helps me when I’m worried about other things.

Dustina: I am sitting here playing on the computer. I didn’t try to knit because the laundry baskets are heavy and are making me sore. Perhaps I’ll try tomorrow to knit when I have no other projects to do around here. I’m glad Roo is feeling better. It’s hard to watch little ones feeling ill, and even harder trying to keep them happy while they are ill.

I found someone to board Boots (after much hunting and telephoning around today), but he has to have a vaccine first for bortadella (kennel cough) which he will get this Saturday because it has to be given a month before they are boarded. At least I know that is one less worry for me as it means we will be able to go on our trip to Niagara Falls in April! Yay!!! On our trip the room has a jacuzzi in it, which will help the neck and shoulder, and it has a hot tub and swimming pool in the lobby which will also help with my aches and pains. I am really looking forward to going.

Now I can go in style because I will be wearing my Texas Hug when I go!

Also thankfully, DH finally got a credit card (and just in time too) so we will be able to have the car repaired and pay for it once we get our income tax return back. So it’s been a busy day but I got everything done that needed doing.

Is it nap time now???

Hi everyone,

I have been busy the last couple of days and have not spent so much time at the computer.

Christine: Glad you got the CPH. Look forward to a picture. Glad also that you managed to find a place for Boots. He must have felt the need to mark his territory in the other house. Quite embarrassing for you I am sure. The up and down weather is certainly not good for the head for sure, but I am very glad we did not get the snow like the US on Sunday.

Dustina: Glad to hear that Roo is fully recovered. Lets hope that is it for sickness for a while.

Carey: I hope your girls are feeling better too.

Silegose: The socks are pretty.

Lieke: Hopefully you will get a yes soon.

I haven’t taken pics of the doll clothes yet, but I am still working on them. Lots of little pieces to seam.

Carey, hope the kids are feeling better!

Sile, the socks look GREAT!!

Lieke, Bummer about the job. COuld you do some volunteer work to gain experience?

Dustina, laundry is one of those never-ending chores! I try to do it once a week so it doesn’t hang over my head every day. It’s easier now that there are fewer people in the house! I DO miss the kids helping me fold, though!

Christine, Sorry to hear about the car, but I’m SO HAPPY that you got your package! The yarn for the scarf was SO soft and NOT wool, so I thought you’d like it! I’m SO RELIEVED that the CPH FITS you!! I can’t wait to see pics!!! Can you send me one so I can post it on Ravelry? You have my email addy, right?

I’m SO excited–My sister and nieces are coming tomorrow from Washington (state). This is my knitting-buddy sister and my niece is a better knitter than I am! They haven’t come to visit years–since my niece was very little (I think she’s 15 now)! Probaby since she was the age of the other niece who is coming who’s barely 9 months old! So if you don’t hear from me for a few days, I’m having too much fun!

Hi to the rest of you!

Gina: Have lots of fun with your sister and nieces.

Christine, I’m glad you got the car thing worked out with the credit card, and SOOO glad you got CPH! And even more glad that it fits well! Big HUGS from Texas!

Sue, glad you’re checking in, can’t wait to see pics of the doll clothes!

Chris, you are too funny. HUGS to you!

Gina, sounds like a wonderful visit!

Well, both girls are doing fine now and will be back at school tomorrow. Emily just did 2 days worth of class and home work in an hour! I’m going to knit for a few minutes now and then go to sleep- I’ve been really tired lately.

OK as promised here are a few views of me wearing my Texas Hug CPH. Keep in mind that it does not yet have a zipper in it, but it fits me soooo well! I am thrilled with my Texas Hug!!!

Gina: Please PM me your e-mail address and I will send these pictures to you! Thanks!

morning,
My first set of http://www.knitpicks.com/Options+Interchangeable+Harmony+Wood+Circular+Knitting+Needle+Set_ND90306.html
is here yesterday:woohoo: :woot:together with 4 balls of Shamrock (MacNamara and Connolly)
May i know what is the end cap and the cable needle for

Gina - Do u think Shamrock can be use for Amused ? It’s Aran 10ply.

Christine - :yay:

Chris - is your " voom voom heavy super power " wheel ready :teehee:

Dustina - how are the kids ?

Christine, you look great in your CPH!

Jackie, it would probably work. I don’t want wool, though. It’s just too warm for down here!

Christine, what a great news that your cph showed up and you’ve got everything settled for Boots. To bad about the car.

Gina, I really want to do a volunteersjob, but something that’s like a psychologist is as hard to find as a job itself. The only thing I can think of is being a buddy for someone who has suffered from psychological illness and is home after being in a hospital but otherwise, it’s all payed.

SnB was great yesterday evening. I knitted on my Brocade Leaves Cardigan again, I didn’t knit on it for a while, and I’m back in love. I want it done, I want to wear it.

Good morning everyone! Just checking in with you all finally. I have been reading along and keeping up with everyone. We did a huge switch over at work with computers, internet, routers, etc., so it’s been very time consuming getting everything transfered. I think it’s finally all done!

Christine~The CPH looks great on you! Fits so well! The Texas girls did a great job. Are you going back to the same place with the heart shaped tub? Don’t forget the bubblebath! FYI… if the bubbles get out of control and spill out of the tub, rub some bar soap in the water near the jets and it will make the bubbles go away. Takes away most of the bubbles, so have fun in them first!

Dustina~Glad the inspector was honest about all the things wrong with the house you were looking at. The right one will come along, probably when you least expect it. Glad the family is on the mend. So much sickness going around.

Julie~Nice to have a new bathroom. Hope your little ones are feeling better too. Sorry to hear about the last test grade. I give you so much credit for going to college and raising your family at the same time. :notworthy:

Gina~Have fun with your sister and nieces! You’ll have your own SnB while they are there! You did a great job on Christine’s CPH!

Carey~Same to you…great job! Glad the girls are better and able to go to school.

Sue~We luckily didn’t get the storm that the east coast got. Cold and windy though. Suppose to be near 50 this weekend. Hope your headaches are doing okay.

Lieke~Sorry to hear about the ‘no’ responses. Older DD had the same problem when getting out of a paralegal course. Everyone wanted someone with 2-3 years experience. How do you get experience if no one will hire you?! Hopefully the right position will come along soon.

Karina~I absolutely LOVED the cabled coat you posted a few weeks back! :inlove: Very pretty!

Sile~Great socks! Are they for a special baby that you know or for a charity project? Great colors!

Jackie~The end caps are for if you want to use the needle and cable as a straight needle instead of a circular, and the cable needle inserts into the small hole at the bottom of the needle to help tighten it to the cable.

Hi to everyone else!! I have not done any knitting since finishing my DD’s socks. They are actually too long for her and I need to rip back the toes and redo for her. Probably won’t take too long, just need to get motivated to do it. One exciting thing is that both DDs and I are going to Florida in 2 weeks for a little sun and warmth! DH is not much for Florida, so it’s a girls week away. Staying with my parents for half the week and then Orlando for the other half. Older DD has not been to Disney since she was about 10 (now 23), so we’ll be doing all the touristy stuff for a few days. Was able to get all the airfare and rental car on my reward miles, and with staying with my parents for part of the trip really made it affordable.

Hope everyone has a good day! I’ll do my best to get on here and check in more frquently with you all!

Christine: Your Texas Hug looks great and fits so well. When are you going to get the zipper put in?

Lisa; Hi, nice to see you around again.

Ann: Where are you?

Lisa: Yes it turned out really well. I knit the back, Abbily knit the sleeves and GJ knit the fronts, the hood and finished it off for me! I think it fits really well. There is room for a shirt or top underneath. I still have to get the zipper put in, but I will do that next week. This week is rent week so all our money went to that!

Yes we are going to the same place as last year. We always go to that place and the same room as well. Ive never thought of putting bubbles in the tub! Sounds like fun. DH is really looking forward to the hot tub. I cant wait to get there, but the trouble is that you wait all year for the time to come and then when it comes it just zooms by really fast because it`s only two days! Oh well, two days is better than nothing at all.

Wow Florida! I am so envious…

It was very nice hearing from you. I`ve missed you being around. Have a great week!

:blooby:Good Morning Socksters!

Lieke~So glad you were able to go and knit! :yay:

Jackie~The kids are doing good…how is your little one? The little circle end thing is so if you need the needle tip you can put that on the end of the cable to hold your work on and then you can use the tips on another cable

Christine~It looks wonderful!! YAY on finding someone to watch Boots, sound like just the perfect place and time for you guys to go away for awhile and relax :yay:

Carey~Glad the girls are feeling better, hope your not coming down with it

Gina~:woot:Have a wonderful time visiting with your family!! Yeah, I’m finding that out to with laundry it just never ends.

Sue~I hope the sickness is over and spring will be here soon…:yay:

Did I miss anything on Julie while sick did they go somewhere this week? Anyone heard from Ann or Lisa or Lady Vi or our others? I hope everyone is doing ok.

Hi everyone!! :happydance:

I went to knit night last night and took the stranded hat and my KP harmony ( size 5, 16" cable)needle broke :wall:…so then I worked on JD’s sock.

I hope you all have a great day of knitting :blooby:

Lisa~We were posting at the same time, so good to see a post from ya . We went through another house yesterday…it was nice and well kept but the bedrooms were small but the basement was finished and so they could have a very large play area down there…the yard wasn’t very big but yet it keeps us in this area…we go to look at another one this weekend…FL sounds really good to me right now, I hope you guys have a wonderful trip that will be a lot of fun!! :yay:

Christine, you look great! I’m so glad it fits well! I hope it’s keeping you nice and warm!

Lisa, great to see you back! Your trip sounds wonderful! I really want to take my girls to Disney World, but I want to wait till they’re just a little bit older.

Jackie, hooray for new needles and yarn!

Hi, everyone else!

Long day for me today… I’m at work now, will go to Curves at lunch, then Chris will pick the girls up from school and bring them downtown for dinner at church, then Lenten Vespers service, then my Mommy group meeting, then handbells… sheesh. All things that I love, but I wouldn’t mind if they were split into more than one day! Hopefully I’ll squeeze a little knitting time in there, though I don’t know when. I seem to have hit a knitting lull… I’m still working on the falling in love socks and Jennifer’s drop-stitch scarf, can’t seem to finish either one of them. Maybe my Mo and Jo are off wandering around with Chris’s?

Dustina, I guess we were posting at the same time, too! Sorry about the broken needle, thank goodness for KP’s great customer service! Keep us posted on the houses!

Sue: I will be getting the zipper put in next week. This pay went to rent. I can still wear the Texas Hug but just cant zip it up. I havent seen a post from Ann in ages, although I noticed her online on KH last weekend, so she must be ok (I hope).

Dustina: Relaxing sounds good about now. I cant wait! Good luck with your house hunting. The right house is out there, you just havent found it yet! KP will replace your broken needle, I am sure. However the wait time would drive me nuts.

Carey: Wow, that is a busy day. You are going to be exhausted tomorrow. I dont know how you do all that. Perhaps if I tried to remember I probably was just as busy when my DD was younger, but thats a long time ago now. Yes the Texas Hug fits perfectly. I am so pleased with it. It`s going to get a LOT of use. It is very warm and will be wonderful to have on my trip next month. It will also come in handy up at the trailer. I could put a turtle neck under it and either sweat pants or jeans and be quite comfortable in the spring!

Mystery solved! Gina made me the lovely white scarf that was in the package with the Texas Hug. It is a drop stitch scarf and it is soooooooooo soft! Best of all it is not wool, so I will be able to use it!!! Thanks again Gina!

Today is not going to be nearly as crazy as yesterday was, thankfully. Now that I have found boarding for Boots, arranged for the car repairs, finished the laundry, cleaned the house, received parcels, posted pictures and paid the weekly bills (all in the one day) today I am going to take it easy and knit on the sock.

The mechanic that will be doing the work on the car says the housing on the transmission is cracked and that was what caused the leak and made the engine light go on. He is not sure what caused the crack but he says it looks like its been there a while, so he was upset that he missed it when hefixedthe leaky transmission before Christmas. I think that is why he is giving us such a good deal on repairing it. He says DH hitting pot holes on the highway is what caused the broken tie rod. He will have the car all of Monday and we will have to find a way to drop it off Sunday night at the garage and pick it up either Monday night or Tuesday. That means DH will have to take public transit to work on Tuesday morning if the car is not finished on Monday. He did an oil change yesterday and hopefully with all these things being repaired and the new tires last fall the car should be good for a long time with no major repairs (I hope). Weve had the car now for five and a half years with no major repairs other than the tires last fall, so we don`t mind this repair job as much as if we had been putting big money into it all along.

DGS is still sporting a fever of 103.5 so DD is taking him to the doctor again today. When she took him yesterday the doctor said it was a virus and did nothing for him. Hopefully today he will do something to get the fever to break. The poor child is miserable and getting dehydrated.

Hi :waving: everyone! Have a great day!
