Another new limited time free pattern

this one’s a hat: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ottograph-street

free until december 6th.

,

it’s a nice cowl, and a nice idea behind it - the knitter/designer is offering it for free to celebrate her mom’s birthday.

I think I finally grasped the underlying concept of Kitchener stitch and the sewn bind offs. If the stitch you are working is to be a purl, go into it knitwise and when it comes off the needle you go into it purlwise. If it is to be a knit, go into it purlwise and take it off knitwise. Armed with that knowledge I am going to try some mixed knits and purls in Kitchener. If it works, that cowl would be seamless.

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knit-advent-calendar-2014 is supposed to be a set of miniature advent calendar knits… free until january 6th, and it’s in parts, but there doesn’t appear to be a part 1 available yet, so i guess if you’re interested in it, stay tuned…

I wonder how active I’ll have to be in the KAL to get the finalized pattern. Thanks.

i wondered that too… most postings/replies? most vocal? best impersonation of a yarn swift? so many ways to choose the best and brightest…

i also wondered if maybe i should post these freebie patterns as an individual post, with replies for new stuff, instead of individual posts. thoughts - anyone? anyone? bueller??

.

i’m going to try it, see how it goes… one thread to rule them all…

this one is the libby shawl, free until november 25th

and it’s got a PDF and a chart file, be sure to download BOTH
.

.

That Libby Shawl is pretty. I hope saving to the Library is good enough w/o the d/l. I don’t want to d/l all of them right now but I do want them.

shawl… shawl… why’d i keep typing cowl? i fixed that now… cowl on the brain…

Crain? lol Hey, do you know if just saving to the library will do it? I hope so.

i have no idea. i’d be worried it would only save the link to the ravelry page, and not the actual pattern itself, and then when you went back to it a month later, the pattern would cost you. but… maybe somebody else knows the exact answer to that.
