QUESTION - how do you add (cast on) the 5 sts in the middle of your pattern?
You can use a knit or cable cast on at the beginninng of row 1. http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/cast-on
Tahe the needle with the working yarn at the tip in your left hand and cast on the 5sts, then work across the 5 and continue with the row.
