I am reading a pattern that calls for the posted stiches…I amd trying to figure out how to do this…can anyone help?
Bring the yarn to the front between the needles as if you are going to purl.
Then slip one stitch knitwise from the left needle to the right.
Knit a stitch, (you will create a yo stitch when the yarn passes from the front over the needle) then pass the stitch that you slipped up and over the knitted stitch off the tip of the needle as if you are binding off.
Yfwd, sl 1, K1, PSSO
Patterns often have instructions for the technique used on that particular pattern. Based on what you have asked w/o seeing the pattern:
Bring the yarn forward between the needles, slip one stitch from left needle to the right, knit one, then take the slipped stitch and bring it over the knit stitch.
If the pattern goes on to knit you most likely would then move the yarn back between the needles to knit normally.

Thank you all for your help. I am trying to make a scarf, and that is the pattern for the stitches…Im a beginner knitter so I hope I can figure it out. I’m spending a week on the coast and I was hoping to finish it. We’ll see. I’ll let you know when I’m back on-line!
I thought if a pattern does not say you slip a stitch purlwise. So everytime I see this I should slip it knitwise? :??
Yes, if you’re slipping a stitch that is going to be passed over another or a SSK, slip knitwise so it lies flat; if you do it pwise, it’ll be twisted.

I did not know that! Never thought about it I guess…I always just correct stitches if I come across twisted ones. Thanks for the info. 
I did not know that. I looked at Amys video and she says to slip purlwise unless you are dec then slip knitwise on the rs and purlwise on the ws but when she says to do a ssp you slip the stitch knitwise but previously she said to slip it purlwise on the ws. I am a little confused. are there any rules I can remember so I don’t get them all mixed up.
The rules are what you just said above.
Slip pw unless you’re decreasing - that’s what a ssk is, so you sl kw for knits, pw for purls. A ssp is a little different, you have to sl the stitch kw or it won’t lie flat on the other side.
That’s really how I do all my slips, whether it’s `right’ or not. I slip them kw on the knit side, or if they’re between k sts, and pw on the purl side. I don’t slip at the beginning of a row, so I just ignore that part.
