I’ve been wanting to do some type of lace project. Tell me your favorite lace weight yarns. The softer the better 
mmmmmmmmm Not the softest but I love my Karabella Gossamer shawl…lots of $$$ though. If you really want the softest, I’d go with an alpaca lace weight or qiviut. If you’re looking for something washable, the Henry’s Attic Kona wool is very soft too.
My 2 favorite lace weights are The Alpaca Yarn Company’s Suri Elegance, talk about a soft and beautiful drape!
And Margaret Stove’s Artisan Lace…she has a way with color!

My favorite is Jaggerspun Zephyr Wool-silk. it’s 50% merino wool, 50% silk. It’s VERY soft, light and has fantastic stitch definition. I’m currently using it for A Peacock Feathers Shawl (from fiddlesticksknitting.com) It’s available in some beautiful colors as well. http://www.fiddlesticksknitting.com/ZephyrColours.html
