Yarn suggestions for summer newsboy cap needed!

I need a summertime hat to protect my head (I have a few weird moles that appeared on my scalp and was advised I should keep my head more protected).

I was thinking of knitting the cabled newboy cap from Stitch N Bitch Nation.

But, I’m not sure what kind of yarn would be best for a summertime hat… cotton? Linen? It calls for worsted weight, 16sts and 22rows = 4" on 10 1/2 needles.

Anyone got any suggestions? Or if you know of another hat that would make a good summertime cap, I’m open to suggestions. :slight_smile: I have a really big head so I’m looking for something that will work with my … um… well endowed brain LOL!

Oh shoot I just saw a newsboy cap and it was in cotton which is so unusual. But I’ve been surfing hundreds of pattern sites this past week…and of course duh don’t remember. Hmmmm. Did you look at Garn Studio?

I will watch for it and let you know if I see it!
