Yarn Substitute

I have a pattern that calls for Red Heart Plush color#9823 French Blue - it’s discontinued. I have been trying to find a substitute. I can find the baby plush but the colors are wrong. What yarn can I use to substitute. Here’s the info I found for this yarn.

Welcome to KH. What are you making? Generally speaking any yarn that will give you the required gauge can be used. In this case I’d look for a yarn that will give me 4 sts/in. A heavier yarn in the worsted weight category 4 should work.

Michaels also, has a lot of plush-y, and fleece-y yarns. Have you looked there?

Aran is a yarn weight that knits at about 4sts/inch. As GG mentioned, it’s a heavier worsted weight yarn.

There are some yarn substitution sites online - I haven’t looked at them - could be useful - ?? Or not.
