I really want to make the bobblicious, but I can’t afford the yarn for it(at 5$ a skein I’d be paying around 30-35$ for the whole project). What would be a good substitute for this project?
Yarn substitute for Bobblicious on knitty?
Could you hold two strands of a worsted together to equal the LB WE T&Q? (like that alphabet soup? LOL) Guess it would come down to gauge.
What color are you wanting to make it? Were you wanting a wool blend or not necessarily?
Either green, plum, or a teal color. I was thinking of using Bernats softee chunky since it’s only $1.50 a skein and it comes in a couple awesome colors, and maybe using a size US 13 needle so that it’ll fit me better.
Hm
That sounds possibly do-able.

Tension
15 sts - 20 rows = 4" (10 cm)
Suggested Knitting Needle
6.00 mm, US - 10

Gauge:
Knit: 9 St sts and 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) on size 13 (9 mm) needles
Going up from a 10 to a 13 would gain you some stitches for your gauge. How much does the LB Jiffy T&Q usually cost? That might be a closer gauge.

Gauge:
Knit: 8 sts and 10 rows = 4"x4" (10 cm x 10cm) on size 17 (12mm) needles.
Doesnt’ look like it comes in solids though, only prints.
I think it’s $5 at Joann’s and that’s the only place that carries Jiffy and W-E T&Q. Both of them are a bit exspensive…
Hmm maybe use three strands of worsted weight?
