Yarn question!

My son wants me to knit him a loooooong scarf from a pattern that calls for Encore Worsted yarn. The total cost of the yarn would be about $40 and that’s too much for me to spend right now.

Does anybody know of a cheaper yarn that would be a good substitute for Encore Worsted?? It would need to come in black and gold/yellow. (Go STEELERS!!!)

Check out the Knit Picks yarn on their website. They have lots of nice yarn at reasonable prices.

Any worsted weight will substitute. It’s just a matter of choosing one that you like.

WoolEase is pretty good, 200 yds for $3 or less - depending on if it’s on sale or you use a 40% coupon from Joann’s or Michael’s.
