More daft questions from me!
I’ve watched the vid on how to do a yarn over, on the next row of knitting, do I knit into that as a stitch?
Also, what exactly is it for? decoration? or some other reason?

If I’m correctly understanding what I’ve been doing for the last 3 weeks, it creates a hole and a new stitch?
And yes, you just knit it the next row.
A yo increase creates a little eyelet. Treat it as a normal stitch on the next row, knitting or purling according to the pattern.
Thanks guys - thats great!
Can I just ask, if I knit it into the next row, that increases the row size, can I knit2together on the next row using the YO, so the row stays the same?
A pattern usually has it’s own decreases (k2tog, ssk, k1slpsso) to balance out the yo. Are you using a pattern or making up your own? If you’re making one up, then yes, you should have a decrease for each increase.
thats great - I’m following a pattern but there are no decreases. I think I’l decrease it, it needs to be square!
THANKS
What’s the pattern?? There may be reason that there’s no decreases but it’s hard to picture if we don’t have it in front of us.
Is it a pattern that ends up being a square when it’s done? Some start at one corner, increase with yo’s until the middle and then decrease down to the other corner.
I wouldn’t just add a dec unless I understand what the pattern is doing.
Thanks for all your help on this one, it was for a tiny tiny button hole, but the pattern didn’t tell me that and I had no pics. I had to work it out by guess work and hints on here!
Its all done now!!!
