Yarn donut infor please

My question is about where to pull the yarn from in this shape of yarn which I think is called a donut.
I have seen in tutorials that you shouldn’t pull yarn from the centre as it doesn’t allow the ball to roll around and keep the yarn straight, centre pulling adds a twist which effect the knitted fabric.
I can’t find an outside end so is this donut design for centre pull or would that twist the yarn?
Is there no outside end? Should I just keep digging around for one?

Sometimes the outside end is tucked into the center of the ball. Most of the time you can see this strand feeding into the center.
Pulling from the inside does impart a twist but I haven’t found any noticeable effect on the knitted piece. I often let the yarn untwist from time to time.
