I’ve told my father I’d knit him a yarmulke… I’ve found one pattern out there (this one, but does anyone have/know of any others (free or not)? Seems like there are a lot of crochet patterns out there, but I can’t crochet…
Thanks!

It seems like maybe you could adjust almost any hat pattern to work couldn’t you? You’d just start the decrease much sooner. Just a thought…
I think you’re right, Jan… since my first attempt at a hat was pretty much a large yarmulke, as DH said , I could in fact just make sure I measured right and do the decreases sooner to make it a yarmulke.
Thanks for the idea!
You’re welcome!
It’s bigger than a yarmulke, but it would be a good pattern to adjust as Jan suggested! Thanks!
i could be wrong but i would think if you can figure out the diameter you want the bottom of it to be and the gauge you are going to knit the yarn at that you could just cast on the appropriate number of stitches and then immediately start decreasing. like maybe at a rate of every other row…may have to decrease faster than that though i suppose.
I’ll give that a try…! Thanks!
In my hunting for hat patterns today I found this: http://www.geocities.com/jbtocker/patterns/knitkipp.html
That’s the same one I found… I think it must be the only one out there!
I’m now waiting for my father to tell me what color he wants!
